Is GravityBox working with Open Beta 3? - OnePlus 7T Questions & Answers

GravityBox was running solid on Open Beta 2. I've updated to Open Beta 3 and when GravityBox is enabled the phone acts a bit unstable.
Both the status bar and nav bar will disappear and then it goes to the lockscreen. It's somewhat usable, but it continues to act that way until the module is disabled and the phone is rebooted.
Has anyone managed to get GravityBox to work well with Open Beta 3?
Thanks

I updated to Open Beta 3 today and I've had no issues with GravityBox (10.0.0-beta-6). I don't use a nav bar but no instances of the status bar disappearing and no stability issues so far.

You are correct that Gravity Box needs xposed. Since it was no longer being maintained by its original developer and didn't support new android updates, it was unofficially ported in early 2019. The port is now called EdXposed and runs as a magisk module.

I haven't had any issues with the most recent version of Gravity Box on Android 10.
Not all the old xposed modules work nowadays though so you'd have to look up compatibility of particular ones but Gravity Box definitely works.

Did you upgraded to KitKat and want to hide Navigation Bar and use third party Pie control like LMT?
Well, maybe you find that LMT doesn't show from the bottom of screen after you did all above steps, right? It happen to me too.
This is why I created this Xposed mod. It will disable Navigation Ring, so your third party navigation will again show at the bottom of screen. Enjoy!

Hi @smyrosnik and @6ril1,
I have 20a and no lg keyboard fc issue. Can you provide me logcat?
My LG keyboard version is 4.4.28, if you have older, try software update.
I don't think weather is broken by my mod. It doesn't work at all, no matter if I activate or disable my mod.
I am guessing the mod is modifying build.prop. In this case whether I try to hide navigation button through the mod or by addding qemu.hw.mainkeys=1 to that file has the same result. It causes the weather widget to malfunction and sometimes the keyboard fc. The keyboard version is 4.4.22. I have used both Stock 4.4.2 international version for D802 and CloudyStock 1.2. Same problem
I will provide the log as soon as possible.

Not modifying build.prop, but overwrite android config value. Basically output is same. As you guys said, this is common way for most mods to hide navigation, nothing special.
Weird is that weather widget doesn't work on my device. When I add it to home screen or lock screen it ask to download 75MB update. After that update add again doesn't work at all.
Any idea why the mod doesn't seem to do anything? Installed, activated and rebooted, the navigation bar is still there. Would love to get some pie for the stock ROM finally, feels so cramped with the bar

Nevermind this was caused by leftover line in build.prop (hwkeys=0), works great now after removing it. Now the only problem is that stock keyboard doesn't show suggestions, otherwise it works well but the boxes where the suggestions should be are empty. That I can live with

Hi, I'm using this mod but I still have the navigation ring.
When I activate it only soft keys disappears.
I use only this mod + gravity box.
You gave me light at the end of the tunnel. I was about to convince myself a huge nav bar is fine, until I saw this. Works great with GMD Auto Hide Soft Keys.
Thanks!

Well, your screenshot show gravity box crash. Gravity box is quite powerfull mod, it tweaks a lot of things. Try to check it's settings if there is anything related to Navigation Ring. Like I wrote before, if using multiple mod which tweaks navigation bar, it could happen that my mod disable it and next mod enable again.
You can simply confirm it by disabling gravity box for the moment and restart.

What I see is a lot of missing files and resources needed for keyboard to run. This looks really strange. You are running original LG stock ROM? Anything disabled or removed?
I don't think I can solve missing keyboard files. Do you have latest 4.4.28 keyboard?

[Q] Xposed

This may be a stupid question, but will Xposed work for the 7a? I strongly dislike Color OS and am waiting patiently for ROMS, but in the meantime I'd like to use Xposed to tweak some of the small annoyances of Color OS.
update: I installed Xposed and none of the modules that I am interested in seem to work. I really want the exchange security bypass (for lock screen features) and on-screen keys. I realize there is a work-around for on-screen keys, but I wanted to take the easy way out

It's already in the center on ColorOS which causes notifications to often go into overflow... I HATE centerclock for this reason (and you'll find that issue is why many custom firmwares refuse to merge that feature - it breaks notification icon layout)

To be prevent confusion its on the right in 1.2 and center in the beta although I think both could be fairly described as beta but that's grist for a different thread. lol At any rate totally agree. Center clocks serve no purpose I can discern but reduce the available notification area by more than half and even a pathetic old man like me who no one talks to can run out of space up there pretty quick with one.

Running
Xposed torch(like being able to activate flashlight by holding volume up button... Must open the app first to set permissions for camera)
Firekitfds (moved status bar clock to center, disabled Low Battery sound, disabled Low Battery camera shutoff, disabled high volume warning, and long press back button to kill foreground app)
You tube ad away
YouTube background playback.
A few things...
I have figured out that firekitfds, gravitybox mm, and xtouchwiz all break my hotspot.
I use my note 4 hot-spot and a range extender for the Wi-Fi in my home (rural area) works great
With this Rom AND any one of the above it breaks my hotspot. Tried disabling in app (above) and re-enabled. Tried changing to 2.4ghz to reset then back to 5ghz.
No luck anywhere.
Think I remember someone talking about the features. Csc file maybe.
Any help with this?
Also tried using gttools to reset and set Max back to 15. (have about a dozen devices) and that's stock Max for 5ghz band.
Good lock/system ui update
Found this useful on the last rom I was running
When you install the apk it updates systemui.
It changes the notification panel to the good lock ui
Pretty cool to play with and pick what you like.
It will also unlock the hot-spot toggle then you can uninstall update to app only. Not the whole app. Then you have stock from Rom with hot-spot toggle.
I have just uploaded these images:

At least two of those Xposed modules you mention creates a bogus features.xml file at /system/csc/features.xml each time you so much as open the module.
When that happens, delete features.xml before you reboot and that should prevent loss of functionality.
I also now use Good Lock and Xposed framework on UN7 ported ROM. It works as well as it did with rooted stock ROMs except the flashlight toggle in pull-downs are broken; leaves the torch on unless disabled with side panel or reboot. You're better off making a gesture or remap for torch; mine is set to toggle torch on any long press of home button greater than 1 second on any screen condition- off, lockscreen or on with vibrate confirmation. I use Physical Button Music Control Xposed module for that.

Got it.
Did some digging and found mention of firekitfds 1.0.2
Works great and didn't break my Hotspot settings/functionality
Will install good lock now and see how that goes. Maybe should have installed that before.
But I did make a new backup with xposed installed so it doesn't take me so long each time. The framework, installer app, won't break Hotspot. Only on running the module and reboot.
Question...
If I deleted that file mentioned above before my reboot will the other changes still take effect? Seems it would be pointless if not?

I was aware that the oldest stable release of Firefds Xposed module didn't break functionality but didn't recall 1.0.2 was also not breaking function. It works because it doesn't create the unneeded features.xml file. So there's no need to check or delete with those module versions; you can open and edit with no worries.
Changes should take place without features.xml because marshmallow doesn't use features.xml but others.xml
It's odd that updates of Firefds Xposed module broke functionality but updates have followed the same unneeded creation of features.xml- I'm not sure if any of the XTouch module versions worked without issue of unneeded features.xml file being created.
With Good Lock, the Firefds and XTouch Xposed modules are equal. But I noticed with stock SystemUI, there are minor differences. XTouch can eliminate the airplane mode pop-up dialogue but cannot remove the battery icon. Firefds Xposed module was just the opposite. (But Good Lock makes the battery icon persistent but lacks the presence of airplane mode dialogue pop-up.)

i was just going to mention only issue after good lock was firekit was unable to change or hide battery.
Should I even try 3minit?

for anyone this could help. This does not break functionality but everytime you go into firekit it will change Max AP connections to whatever it's set to there. But you can still go to settings, hotspot, configure Hotspot, and set number there to fix. Max in fds is 10

Since I brought up the flashlight toggle issue, I should clarify again that the flashlight toggle in pull-down screens stems from my use of Good Lock SystemUI screen replacement.
The flashlight toggle issue wasn't caused by the UN7 ROM or the Firefds Kit Xposed module.
You're finding more functionality and less bugs with XTouchWiz over Firefds Kit but my set of features used reflect no difference when using Good Lock with my feature preferences. I did see features.xml being created with XTouchWiz as well but in either case, since I delete the unwanted created features.xml file, I can't say which is better regarding not killing hotspot in Settings. I didn't give it the chance to fail by deleting when created.
Since both modules haven't been updated in a while, my tests were done against latest stable module releases. I'm considering going back to the suggested Firefds Kit 1.0.2 update which has been noted and confirmed not to create features.xml in Note 4 when module is opened. Personally, I think both modules could use an update to stop features.xml creation.
Thanks for your input. With all the features available, user variance is possible.
I'd also like to hear more confirmation input from others on their experience with these Xposed modules and Good Lock.
Regarding Good Lock unlock reboot error in UN7 ROM, since I've switched to that password unlock with Good Lock and experienced one reboot bug and lag on initial unlock error using wrong password, I've since entered wrong password in 2 occasions without experiencing the reboot bug or lag on unlock. Not sure why that happens and if others can expect same flexibility with Good Lock?

Hide battery icon works with above module with Good Lock as SystemUI replacement. Didn't test anything else but VPN icon hide which did not work. I used NOTifications Xposed module for that. Kind of neat to allow icon to be present for a bit then get removed.
I should add that the VPN notification I was trying to hide was from Adguard and was tired to Android System. I had to add Android System in ignore list of NOTifications module.

Custom ROM with navigation bar hide feature like OOS?

I'm on OOS 5.1.1 and I like navigation bar hide feature on it (toggle button on the left side)
I want to try other custom roms but they don't seem to have that feature.
(Not an Expanded Desktop. It's very uncomfortable to use)
Is there any other rom with navigation bar hide feature?

I hope rom supports hide feature, don't want my device stay rooted or use xposed.
For now I use 'Granular Immersive' app. It is flexible in that one can configure to hide navigation by app.
But I would prefer if it had ways to configure such in bulk. Nevertheless it works fine for me.

Hi can you provide link, please
I’ve tried several custom rom and none of the them has oxygen os gesture navigation.
It’s a shame.
They provide other gesture navigation system but much less reliable and user friendly and using the button navigation bar area for some gesture but with this method you are loosing real estate from the screen(it’s like you are having invisible navigation bar button)
Oxygen os gesture navigation is superior to all crap solution custom rom offer.

Thanks following your step by step instructions , I successfully installed Xposed edge aaand it works very well !!!
Most custom AOSP roms have the Disable Navigation Bar quick setting tile. I'm using OmniROM, arguably the best custom firmware for the 5T.
You can get the best OnePlus gestures replacement app ever, right here:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ivianuu.oneplusgestures
I've used for years navigation gesture apps like GMD gestures and All in One Gestures. They're much more customizable than the OOS gesture navigation and they work well in custom roms. OOS tends to kill background services in itself unless the app/service is converted as an system app. You need root but it doesn't trigger safety net and my banking apps work as well.

I like Omnirom but Disable Navigation Bar quick setting tile is very annoying.
Expanded Desktop that styles can be set style for all app, not per app and quick setting tile is much better, like in AOKP.

How is it very annoying? Once you toggle it, you don't really have to do it again unless you are troubleshooting something with the Gestures replacement.
Perhaps you're using it for a different purpose?
EDIT: Oh, I guess you just want it to come back whenever you swipe. You can add the Immersive Mode tile to Quick Settings in OmniROM using Tiles, a terrific app that adds additional tiles to QuickSettings.

[Magisk Module] Round Corner Fix For Mix2s

Hi there,
I've made a magisk module to fix the round corner for our Mix2s with AOSP PIE based ROM.
How to install:
Just search
Code:
RoundcornerFix
in magisk.
Install before you have read the details of the module.
Before: https://photos.app.goo.gl/nvE2GSFEWJNQPcKX7
After: https://photos.app.goo.gl/xe4q6BND389Dq8848
Warning:
You should NOT install this module in MIUI or LOS based ROM.
And I don't think it works on Oreo

Thanks!! How come this wouldn't work on a LOS 16 rom?
can you make it work for chiron Mix 2 too?

It works with bgcngm LOS build.
Sorry to be slow, but what about the round corners needs to be fixed?

Top corners are "hardware corner", screen have round cut.
Bottom corners are "software corner", screen isn't cut (rectangular) but touch screen is round.

I don't know if I'd say it works just because it installed and didn't bootloop... I had the same success, but the bottom corners still appear as if the module wasn't even installed.
Not work for me with official Pixel Experience. I installed dedicated polaris and no check model version, down corners still not rounded.
Ok, I know why now - corners will not rounded if we hide navigation bar. Is it possibile to fix this?
Thanks for the module. It works well on my Mix2s.
But the problem is, it won't work if the navigation bar is hided. Any solutions? Thank you.

If you use this Magisk Module the rounded corners mod works without the navigation buttons:
https://github.com/AndroPlus-org/magisk-module-hide-navbar
I was having the same issue hiding the navbar with OnePlus Gestures, but the module above fixed it.

Thanks much! This fixed it for me. Also, if you are using fluid navigation gestures, make sure to disable the navigation bar hide option for this magisk module to work correctly.
All most AOSP based room fixed it. This is no longer needed.
Yeah, it's fixed unless you disable navigation bar and use something like Fluid Navigation Gestures.
I'd like to see github repo ressurected :-/
