Recommendation for stable version 16 nightly for OnePlus 5T - OnePlus 5T Questions & Answers

Can anyone recommend a stable version 16 nightly that I can use to reinstall Lineage on my 5T?
I've had serious problems with repeat reboots without cause. I'm now using nightly 20200421 and firmware 9.09 without Gapps, but wonder if I somehow corrupted the system, and should reinstall from scratch.
Are some nightlies more troublefree than others?
I download 5T .zips from: https://download.lineageos.org/dumpling . If I should look at another site, please let me know.
AFAIK, I can't use TWRP with version 17, and can't make Nandroids with the Lineage Recovery, so want to stick with version 16 for now.

where to find security update

I have twrp installed and updated, after fighting with gapps for sometime I managed to get pico installed ( don't know why was such a problem I have 10gb of storage available), and lineage 14.1 on my nexus 7 2013 wifi (flo). My lineage version is 15.1-20180815, my android security patch level is "August 5, 2018".
I'm trying to find out if there is a newer security patch version available, I can flash or sideload and where to download it from. Google stopped with seciruty patches for my N7 almost 2 years ago, so thats a no go. Anyone know where to get the latest, if there is a later than August on lineage.

My apologies to the forum for posting this in the wrong thread section. I was at it until 3 am last night. I guess an August 2018 security patch from lineage is a lot better than what I was getting from Goog which was zilch. I can't believe have fast this old N7'13 is running now. Just wanted to thank the forum for all the links and info on how to install twrp & a new mod, this was my first try at it.

Need help with Error 7 for microG+LineageOS

Hey guys,
I am trying to install the latest microG+LineageOS build (20190722), however I get error 7 in TWRP and OrangeFox recovery.
From googling, I believe this might be an issue with the Xiaomi firmware my phone has (Oreo = 10.x or Pie 9.x)
From what I understand (might be wrong), the microG+LOS team uses the official LOS roms and adds the extra stuff, so I had a look at the official LOS thread on xda, which recommends to use MIUI Stable V10.4.1.0.
I flashed 10.4.1.0 and then tried to flash microG+LOS, but I still get Error 7, but regular LOS (20190930) works.
I tried flashing a Pie firmware and then flashing microG+LOS, but that still gives Error 7.
The OP of the official LOS thread recommends against editing the updater-script file.
What can I do?

Help with miui stable beta 11.0.2.0

I flashed the latest closed beta miui 11.0.2.0 but I found a lot of issues with the magisk root, the magisk manager says it installed but some apps didn't work properly like titanium backup, I tried to restore my previous apps to the new rom but it freezes at restoring some apps.
Notice:- I am using magisk 20
Thanks for the help in advance.
Hello, try to wipe a whole phone by using TWRP. Then flash your beta miui 11.0.2.0 (also as you can know beta miui can have some issue with that).
And remember for next time ... Beta is not always recommended to daily users and can have some bugs.

No miui camera for this one?
I can't seem to update to the newest nightly
Code:
lineage-17.1-20200424-nightly-chiron-signed.zip
. The phone seems to be updating, (tried from within the settings and adb sideload) but when I check the updater app it says that the update is ready to install and the current version is from April 23rd.
Yea, there is something weird happening with the latest nightly. I did a clean install (factory reset, format data/system and all that stuff) and I still get April 23 as the build I have installed.
thank you so0 much

@mikeioannina Thank you very much for all your efforts!
I have version 17.1 installed, with the latest update. I installed it with the MIUI that I had with version 16.0 and the installation was with the Lineageos recovery. When I try to install Magisk, 78% doesn't follow and consequently it doesn't install.
If I install the TWRP recovery, "I don't lose anything?"? I have to install MIUI 11 ?. ? What is the advantage of Lineage recovery over TWRP?

What is meant by your post ?
There will be some difference when Lineageos has prepared a recovery existing TWRP, that is my question:? What is the difference between the two recovery ?.
I don't think Lineage bothers to prepare something if there are no differences
Did a dirty upgrade install from 16, and stuck on the boot animation.
Then I did a wipe and install, but still stuck on the boot animation.
Anyone having the same issue?

Hello, I'm on the same boat. I tried dirty flashing coming from LOS 16, then wipe and install but still stuck on boot animation.
I tried using the recommended TWRP and also Orange Fox, but same result.

Well, good to know I'm not alone. Did you also use the 20200426 build? I suspect the build is bad. Maybe try an earlier one?
I spent one night flashing LOS and failing, and then decided to try PE for the first time. It worked

Very quick google search came back with this result: "Right now, Lineage Recovery is really only intended to be used on devices with Seamless Updates (aka A/B partitions) and, in that role, it is only intended to be embedded within the OS's normal Boot image."
You have posted this same question in a few threads now and only received the same answer each time, sir.
TWRP works just fine for our device and includes so much extra options compared to the lineage recovery.
Why not test them both out yourself? Find one you like that suits your needs.

Redmi NOTE 8T = > 17.1 to 18.1 boot loop

Hi,
I was trying to update my Redmi Note 8t from 17.1 to 18.1. I ended up in a boot loop. I tried with the update from 22-4-4 and the previous one. I also updated the recovery image. I cleared all partitions and installed again. Nothing works.
Switching back to the latest 17.1. works.
Anyone else having this problem? How can I find out, what the problem is? Can I enable any logging?
adb logcat is not working during startup.
Regards, Sebastian
i can confirm this.
i tried with the 2022-04-18 build on redmi note 8T
I have the same problem.
Do you know where can i get 17 ?
I broke my Redmi Note 8T (Willow) by updating LOS 17 -> 18.1
(Bootloop, without even seeing the LOS animation)
In /proc/last_kmseg I saw that the underlying issue was caused by a fatal error in the modem.
I.e. something kernel<->modem broke the thing.
Through recovery, I flashed a modem update from
Xiaomi Firmware Updater
The ultimate script that provides firmware packages for Xiaomi devices.
xiaomifirmwareupdater.com
and everything is working again
Finally, I installed the latest official Miui version (12.5 I think it was), then I installed LinageOS 18.1 recovery and latest nightly from 23.5. again and it worked.

willow_eea_global_images_V12.5.4.0.RCXEUXM_20220218.0000.00_11.0_eea
i needed to use the fastboot method and reflash all ROMs with the "flash_all.sh"
