Hey guys,
I am trying to install the latest microG+LineageOS build (20190722), however I get error 7 in TWRP and OrangeFox recovery.
From googling, I believe this might be an issue with the Xiaomi firmware my phone has (Oreo = 10.x or Pie 9.x)
From what I understand (might be wrong), the microG+LOS team uses the official LOS roms and adds the extra stuff, so I had a look at the official LOS thread on xda, which recommends to use MIUI Stable V10.4.1.0.
I flashed 10.4.1.0 and then tried to flash microG+LOS, but I still get Error 7, but regular LOS (20190930) works.
I tried flashing a Pie firmware and then flashing microG+LOS, but that still gives Error 7.
The OP of the official LOS thread recommends against editing the updater-script file.
What can I do?

Ok, well.
I saw that i can install android pie on my already rooted oneplus 5t (android oreo 8.1, OxygenOSS 5.1.7).
I downloaded the file from xda, updated TWRP at last version, downloaded also last Magisk version for rooting after updating my android version.
I got "Zip treble compatibility error" That i didn't know what is it so i searched and i found out that i had to remove the "compatibility" zip in the zip of that downloaded update.
I did it and it didn't worked again.
What is happening why i can't get android pie?
Also, are there any problems with this build? In searchings i read that the phone doesen't recognize the 100% of batterylife and keep get charged and can be ruined.
What if you download the android pie beta from the oneplus.com website. ive been using this for a month or so and it worked fine for me, especially when you're used to OOS.
So if i download the rom from there, i got no "Zip treble compatibility" error?
i can speak only for blu_spark software but this worked for me:
use TWRP 9.85 (https://forum.xda-developers.com/devdb/project/dl/?id=30332) to update FROM 5.1.7 to pie (remove compatibility.zip for this update)
once you are ON pi, install
TWRP 9.91 (https://forum.xda-developers.com/devdb/project/dl/?id=31102) for any update from now onwards (no need to remove the compatibility.zip any more)
use the rom from this post https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-5t/how-to/official-oxygenos-4-7-2-7-1-1-ota-t3709265
official rom: http://otafsg.h2os.com/patch/amazon...TOxygen_43_OTA_045_all_1901072301_6ada5c1.zip
I am going back becouse xposed framework is not supported on android pie
by the way i post here how i got pie from oreo becouse i faced lot of problems!
-First of all download the official update
-then, the only twrp i found that work is this: https://eu.dl.twrp.me/dumpling/twrp-3.2.3-0-dumpling.img.html the 3.2.3.1 didn't worked for me.
-i had to flash magisk uninstaller and then install magisk, i got bootloops before doing uninstall and then install.
Btw i am downloading another rom for 8.1 becouse xposed don't work for now on 9.
Any suggest for changing the rom? I am searching what to get
thanks anyway guys
Flashing latest builds of most ROMs (ones which need pie firmware) give error 7: with message 'you need to have firmware V10.3.1.PIEMIXM or above as prerequisite to flash this rom'
Since I am on anti-rollback-3, i downloaded and flashed the non-arb version of V10.3.1.PIEMIXM firmware from the stable firmware list, but flashing the rom still gives the same error.
I tried using TWRP 3.3.1 Official, i am using redmi note 5 pro (indian version). Can anyone tell me what am i doing wrong?

Just install the normal fully arb firmware and try again

Is there no way to get pie firmware without getting to anti 4?
You need recovery compatible with Pie FW. Here is unofficial TWRP 3.3.1-1 working fine with Pie FW.
Hello,
Since I updated the firmware to 12.0.3.0 QGGEUXM, TWRP no longer asks for the code to decrypt the data files.
Few months ago I didn't have this issue from version 12.0.1.0 to 12.0.2.0 QGGEUXM.
While searching the forums, I found a thread for a similar issue on other Xiaomi smartphones :
[RN8] Problems with TWRP recovery
I need some advice and or possibly an explanation on what I did wrong and if possibly some solution. I had some errors in TWRP after the latest weekly (20.12.09) installation (Cannot read.., Operation not permitted) but the decryption was working as usual -in Official TWRP 3.4.0-1. I decided to...

" Mystery solved. The issue with the TWRP on the latest ROM for ginkgo occured due to changes in the boot image. This is also the reason that flashing to a previous ROM (which would obviously write a new boot image) would automatically correct the issue. Xiaomi, in their not so infinite wisdom, saw fit to implement changes in the kernel so that the recovery would not be able to read the decryption keys, at least not without recompiling the kernel. The problem was investigated and fixed over @XiaoMi-miui.gr."
Can anyone modify the version of wzsx150 (LR Team) 3.3.2b in order to resolve the issue for the latest REDMI Note 8 Pro firmwares?

Hello friends
I'm trying to flash custom Q roms in TWRP on my S9 (SM-G960F), but have received the same error message for any Q rom:
ERROR:
Vendor image on the device
is NOT compatible
Expected Android 10 vendor

I've only been able to successfully flash P roms, namely the Pie-based LightRom.
Based on the error message, it seems I need to update the firmware to Q before installing custom Q roms?
I've also seen some roms note installation requirements like "ROM Firmware Required: OneUI 2.x", which is new to me (have not seen a TW/OneUI ver requirement for roms I've used on S4, S7, N8).
May I ask someone to explain the steps required to install Q roms (eg, Havoc-OS) coming from P firmware? There seems to be some assumptions in most install instructions I'm not aware of, maybe since I am on older FW. (I am asking here, since I did not find instructions in any of the Q roms I tried)
So far, all I have done to the phone since unboxing it was to install TWRP 3.4.0, following the official guide for Exynos S9.
I am guessing I need to download latest official firmware image from sammobile or something for my device, and flash it in Odin. Is this correct?
If so, can someone explain the steps so that I can have latest FW for my device while maintaining TWRP and not bricking the device?
Thank you for your help

UPDATE:
I installed latest firmware from Sammobile, flashed it through Odin following their instructions, reinstalled TWRP, and am now able to flash Q roms.
For those who have stock rom < Q, I would suggest updating firmware through OTA before flashing TWRP. If you cannot OTA, download the latest firmware from Sammobile and flash it through Odin following their instructions, then flash TWRP, then you can flash Q roms.
So:
Update firmware through OTA or via Odin with latest firmware from Sammobile.
Flash TWRP
Flash whatever rom you want.
Hi,
I was trying to update my Redmi Note 8t from 17.1 to 18.1. I ended up in a boot loop. I tried with the update from 22-4-4 and the previous one. I also updated the recovery image. I cleared all partitions and installed again. Nothing works.
Switching back to the latest 17.1. works.
Anyone else having this problem? How can I find out, what the problem is? Can I enable any logging?
adb logcat is not working during startup.
Regards, Sebastian
i can confirm this.
i tried with the 2022-04-18 build on redmi note 8T
I have the same problem.
Do you know where can i get 17 ?
I broke my Redmi Note 8T (Willow) by updating LOS 17 -> 18.1
(Bootloop, without even seeing the LOS animation)
In /proc/last_kmseg I saw that the underlying issue was caused by a fatal error in the modem.
I.e. something kernel<->modem broke the thing.
Through recovery, I flashed a modem update from
Xiaomi Firmware Updater
The ultimate script that provides firmware packages for Xiaomi devices.
xiaomifirmwareupdater.com
and everything is working again
Finally, I installed the latest official Miui version (12.5 I think it was), then I installed LinageOS 18.1 recovery and latest nightly from 23.5. again and it worked.
