Hello xda,
I have noticed that their is a lot of G2 rooting help threads in the Q&A section. In a effort to help organize and cleanup the Q&A section I thought that one thread will be sufficient. What I and possibly others will do is help the less experienced G2 members workout some of the issues with their rooting problems. I am not that experienced but I learn quickly and have come to know the workings of the G2 well.
So how will this work:
You will ask question
You will be given a number in the following format | Username = Case #
Any answers/follow ups will have the case number in front of it
When question is answered a post will be made showing Case # and it will quote problem and solution in a different post where it will be easy to find Link to Solution Bank
An example will be displayed:
__________________________________________________________________
Post #1 :Question by User 1
How Do I Open the Keyboard?
__________________________________________________________________
__________________________________________________________________
Post #2 :Answer by User 2
User 1 = Case 1
Slide the phone open
__________________________________________________________________
__________________________________________________________________
Post #3 : Confirm by User 1
It worked, thanks User 2. Case 1 solved.

Hope this helps,

OK. I have problems with google maps. It's moving slowly and lagging sometimes it gives me force close. Do you have a fix ? Thank you.
You might need to give a bit more info than that.
Can you post a logcat of this happening?
How can i do that?
I found something on google
Code:
su
adb shell
logcat
but it tells me adb: not found.
EDIT: Ok sorry for above post. That works with SDK, in a short time i will post the logcat
EDIT #2: How can i upload attachments ? It's bigger than the limit of the forum , and it doesn't let me to post links.
Paste the log onto pastebin or similar, then post a link. (insert a space into the link to break the format)
Generally you shouldn't post logs longer than 80 rows, as you'd just annoy the rest of XDA.
This is a known issues with maps version >= 6 . Install version 5.8
@andyharney Thanks for your support but eightballbill saved my day. I just installed Maps 5.8.0 and works fine.
Good to hear.

Hi,
Sorry for my poor english, i'm french !
I have ROOT a lot of smartphones and tablets, but i have do a big mistake !
After successfully put the Gapps, I wanted to change the system, see possibly for CyanogenMod or rom custom !
I flashed a preloader MT65xx ! (Do not ask me why, a moment of distraction or weakness )
So, bein the tablet does not restart, no ADB nor fastboot .... nothing!
When I connect to my PC, my device manager tells me to install drivers for MT65xx preloader .... then immediately disappears and reappears, etc, etc, etc ....!
I can install these famous drivers .... but it's no possible to fixe this problem !
Even if it remains a few seconds .... connect with the little time I have, I still tested this :
CODE: SELECT ALL
Code:
adb devices
but no answer ....
Would you have an idea, a solution to recover ...?
Big thank !

Hi, I've been trying to add files into my DevDB downloads section. Whenever I click
Code:
Add a file
a window pops up saying
Code:
Missing or incorrect project information
.
Is there any way to resolve this? Even on a new project this error pops up.

I've never encountered this specific issue myself but, you should be able to obtain some guidance within the following thread that's specific to the DevDB.
