No, He never replies on such kind of things.
If someone knows, is there possible that one day our sprint locked G8 will unlock like G7 is unlockable via unlock service?

It can only be unlocked though Sprint and possibly some third party websites. Next time don't buy a bad esn phone
I have a bad esn G8 too. I use an electronic chip that goes under the SIM card to unlock my carrier. Phone calls work perfectly but data doesn't.

I got mine from a local dealer. But you can find it online on ebay or many other sites. Just google "unlock sim" for more info. Here's a picture to know what you're looking for:

Thank you for that hope. But could you help us a little more? I just found these adapters specifically for iphones. Would it really be these? Because I could not find any that were said compatible with android devices.

It's true those sims were initially made to unlock iphones, but used to unlock many recent android phones now too. I guess you will have to contact the sellers before buying. I checked my chip but it has no brand name.
Good luck man.

You should look on eBay for an esn / imei unlock service for Sprint. If you want to search more specifically put in for lg too. As long as you're not blacklisted, those services are very cheap and good

Thanks again. I asked several sellers on ebay if their Rsim served to unlock android devices as well, unfortunately none of them told me to be possible or did not have the knowledge. In fact I am in an unfavorable situation, because I live far away from the United States or Europe, I live in Brazil. The only way I have to get good technological products at the best prices that those practiced within my country is by import.
I bought in an auction of ebay an lg v40 with bad esn, hoping it was possible to use it normally in another country, but unfortunately it was not possible. Two years ago I imported an LG V20 blocked by US cellular, according to the announcement, which worked normally in Brazil, but the V40 did not.
I would like to ask a favor of you and anyone who reads and has a chance to make confirmation. If you could test any of these advertised rsim for iphones (Rsim 12,13,14 ou 15), while passing somewhere selling them, just to make sure any of these work also for bad esn or blocked android or just some specific models.
And one more question, do you remember if it was necessary to do some specific configuration or use some unlock code, just when you started using your rsim?

Thanks for your advice! I came to consider this option right when I received the device. From my research I saw that were not yet succeeding in the period 2018 until 2019, and some people saying that it was not possible to remove the locks on the latest Sprint devices, besides that my drive besides blocked has bad esn. But anyway, I appreciate your good intention.
Update: I changed the e-sim today and data worked instantly. Turned out the one I've been using is used to unlock audio calls only. Now my G8 works perfectly.

Ok, thanks for this good news. But... my friend... I need the model name sim, and the place where you bought it. As I said earlier, I live outside the United States and therefore can't buy locally. So I need to know which specific model I can buy. I need the model to search and buy over the Internet, then send to my address in Brazil. It would be very useful if you could post a picture of the product packaging and another of the adapter itself.
I got the new chip from a local dealer. It has no brand or marks what so ever. Actually the dealer separeted the esim from a long ribbon of attached ones and non had any writing on it! And he had 'em from a local service too.
I don't know how to help you guys. But I thought I'd give you hope.

Thank you very much again for your feedback. I understand you're being as helpful as possible. But as I said before, I live outside the United States and I usually get things online, by import, and so I would like to ask you a special favor, you could not buy this e-sim for me (the same as you bought recently) and send to the address of the order redirection company that I use, located in Orlando Florida? I could pay you for the e-sim and the cost of shipping + a bonus for your work and help, via Paypal, or even you could sell on ebay if you prefer. If you can help me again this way, you would be solving my problem and I would be very grateful.

I need some help from the real experts. I think that I may have screwed myself here on my One X Purchase. I got it from expansys-usa.com. Hopefully this is just my ignorance but from what I have been told by HTC customer service is that I received a Malaysian version of the One X. And that It will not be compatible at all with any US carrier for Data.
Here is where my current situation.
Ordered the phone wednesday 4/18 from Expansys-Usa.com
Received today, 4/20
Took it in to my local T-Mobile and had my sim from my Nexus One Cut down.
I receive phone calls and texts just fine but no data connection at all will work.
I was at T-Mobile for 2 hours as they tried to manually enter all APN settings, as well as talk to HTC support, no luck. In the end I was told I had a Malaysian model and that was the issue. When you enter the APN settings and save them, all it says is no Sim card found, please enter one. But the messaging and calling is connected in the back ground..
I have not been deep into phone tech for the last year or two so I am rusty on everything. What do you guys think, is there anything I can try to do here or is my only option to return the phone if possible?
Why would Expansys send out a Malaysian model? When first booting my phone the only language options are Asian-English but with like 12 different version of all different Asian countries. I get no option for anything in Europe.
Thank you..

Sounds like a t-mobile issue.
I have the same model as you I believe (asian region model, got "English" at initial startup but with a lot of different asian countries). All I did was go to "APN" setting in mobile networks, click on "AT&T" and everything works fine for me.
So yes, the asian one works on USA networks, but yours sounds like a t-mobile issue. This is of course if you have the same model as me, which is sounds like you do.
You know even if you had a European model it would only get 2G on T-Mobile?

That might be OP's problem. T-mobile 2g is so slow it would almost seem like there is no data connection.
HTC One X does not support t-mobile 3g.
Thanks for the replies. Although, I do know that I only will receive 2G. I had planned on this. But the problem is I get no data at all.
It is good to hear that there is someone else with this version and its working on ATT at least.
If your account is not provisioned correctly for the APN settings you are trying to use the phone will refuse to connect at all. Have Tmo check the plan they have you on. I had a similar problem with AT&T.

I will keep this in mind, thanks for the comment. The one problem is, I cant save any APN settings on the phone, when i enter them, and save, it just says there is no sim card in the phone. So its not saving them or using them.

Expansys will source the phone from the Asia region because they are readily available there IMO. I ordered from Expansys Australia and they sourced the phone from Hong Kong. And I too got all chinese freaking characters when I booted the phone a bit annoying but not much I can do now.

Don't have branding on mine too. Just had to do a hard reset and I was able to choose from 3 languages (1 english and 2 chinese languages).

If you figure out the issue , please let's know
Well a good update.
Like in the thread I linked, it was an issue with the T-Mobile sim cards. Only the old style works with this phone. At least for now, hopefully a software update will fix this. I went to another T Mobile store the guy there was really helpful and we tried a handful of simcards. Ended up with the conclusion that the 3G sim cards worked, old style. He had to grab one out of an old Sensation package he said. But the newer 3GG ones dont. I dont know of the real diff but I wanted to share how the outcome was. I am now happily on edge. Hopefully 3G soon!

I bought from expansys USA as well. No problems at all and received the Taiwan build. I know a few people were having problems with T-Mobile and data. The issue was solved by getting the older micro sim card that said 3g, not their new one that says 3gg.

EDGE/GRPS and "fast" shouldn't be used in the same sentence. EDGE is 2G, not 3G, and speeds are highly influenced by load on the network. 1MB down would be a stupendous result but in some markets is can be as low as 300KB. If it works for you; cool. But people shouldn't think that EDGE speeds are going to be a satisfactory alternative to HSPA/HSPA+. And speeds will vary widely across T-Mobile’s network.

I've been buying unlocked phones for years and I can't remember the last time I bought from a carrier. But I can get a 6 Pro 256GB from one of those carriers for $500 through work so I'm thinking I might try.
I guess the other thing I'd ask is if they've clarified if the Google-direct 6 Pro will support mm-wave/UWB 5G?
I guess my Google-fu was weak today. Seems the jury is stil out on the locked part, but likely locked and par for the course.
Found a doc that clarifies the 5G confusion here, too.
We need someone with Verizon or AT&T version to check if OEM Unlocking is available or greyed out.

Not sure about AT&T, but you buy a device from VZW, the bootloader is locked forever.
Not only that, if you buy a device from the manufacturer (Google P6P) that VZW carries, you will not be able to ensure that device through VZW, and you'll lose done VZW specific features like free 25gb cloud.
Might have changed over the last few years, but the way VZW is, I doubt it.
Call VZW customer service and straight out ask what happens, what account features do you lose, if you buy a P6P directly from Google, and add it to your VZW account.
I'll keep a 4 yr old device before I buy from a carrier again!

Ugh. Thanks for posting this. Have you paid it off and gotten it carrier unlocked? Because I was 90% sure it would allow you to unlock the bootloader then.
Or, set up off line, with no active SIM, and unlockable.
I tried offline setup and it first tells you it needs cellular or wifi to verify something. Then after connecting to wifi it says it can't be unlocked. Tried this on a 256gb p6p Verizon
AT&T is bootloader locked. I returned it and got an unlocked one from Best Buy.

Sorry if lot sounds like I'm being too specific on this, but did you fully pay off the phone and ask AT&T to unlock it? I'm sure the bootloader is locked at first, but they've always allowed phones to be unblocked and that to the best of my knowledge. And they have to carrier unlock it before you'd be able to bootloader unlock it.
On the offline note, I'm pretty sure there's a way around that offline. In some cases, I bring it was earlier Samsung Galaxy phones, your had to tap a hidden white hotspot area on the instruction screen several times and it would move forward offline. Just FWIW.

Sorry for the confusion I was able to reach the home screen in offline setup mode. What I was referring to is using the offline trick to unlock the bootloader. Unfortunately I was unable to unlock it even with the offline setup. Sigh I probably have to get an unlocked model if I want to root. Using vzw was the cheapest route for me. This was on a Verizon p6p

Well in the screenshot, it says "unavailable on carrier-locked devices" underneath the OEM unlocking toggle, so instead of having to go through AT&T to get it sim unlocked, what if you use a 3rd party paid service to sim unlock the device? would that allow you to also unlock the bootloader? And if so, would it work for the other carrier variants too?

Oh I see. I believe that's outside the purview of this forum since 3rd party paid services are frowned upon. So you're pretty much on your own there.
I read other and find some comment able to enable VoLTE but not 5G.
Some said that they have tried the older way which worked on older device but it seem don't work on Pixel 6 Pro anymore.
They assume that this is because google use their new tensor chip not the Qualcomm one.

What do you mean with "unlisted country"? It's your carriers choice whether or not he activates VoLTE/5G and whether or not he supports your phone, so why not talk to your carrier why they don't support the new P6?
It's working here in Norway. The speeds are about 50% of the phones sold officially.

No, google blocks 5G and volte in unsupported countries, i.e. countries where it is not officially sold, e.g. Czech Republic, Finland, Poland, Croatia etc.,

Well, the man over you just said that it works in Norway, and Google doesn't sell the Pixel 6 in Norway*. So what you say can't be true. So either the man over you is lying, or it's indeed a carrier issue and not a Google one.
*at least according to googles official Support Site listing the countries where Google sells their new phones & a quick Google search I did

These are supported countries in Europe, I mistook Finland which is supported but they currently don't sell the Pixel 6/pro there as well as Norway. If you still don't believe it google "5G not supported in countries not supported by google", that's why for earlier models you had to install special modules with root to activate

No hope for non root option. The older device still needed to be rooted.

It's not carriers option, it definitely because of Google restricted by software. Pixel 5 do support 5G in Thailand (according to the spec sheet) but you cannot use it even though carriers let you able to. However, right after root and install module, 5G work fine. So that mean the only problem is Google software.

This is just my assumption:
I think it like all selling country will be fully supported.
For the rest, some countries are supported by somehow.
The other countries, without root, definitely NO.
So in the thread, I find that google change to use 5G modem from Samsung not Qualcomm as the older device.
Also, if I correct it is the same modem with S20 series.
So really hope there is someone able to modify that to make the Pixel 6 Pro able to use 5G without Google's stupid restrictions.

Mine is now rooted and got volte and vowifi working fine with Magisk module but cannot get 5G working. As mentioned above it is Google stopping it in their settings. We have three networks in Ireland and Google support two but not the third (who use Huawei 5G tech!). Root will be essential I'd say to add the settings for the restricted networks. So much for paying full price for an unlocked phone...
It used to be easier to change the modems mbn settings with Qualcomm but does not work with Pixel 6 modem which I hope someone more clever than me can help with!

Well maybe they do. But people travel, don't they. And depending on where they travel they might use different SIM cards. So even when I bough a Pixel in an "officially supported country" (like France), I might travel to Netherlands and use a Dutch SIM card ... then suddenly I would only get half baked support? That just does not sound right.

Well, that's how it always has been with Software features, they are locked, usually for legal reasons.
I've read so many discussions over the years from US soldiers stationed in Europe and their constant struggle to get Home Television/Sports, Google/Streaming Services and other services working, that it's not even surprising me any more to hear of this (some services offer workarounds, but ONLY if you have a US address+citizenship - so many of those soldiers had to order stuff to their families back home, had them open the packages, transcript and send them the codes they needed and then they had a solution, even though only few companies offer such a solution). It's not a Google problem, it's an industry problem of licenses and laws. I remember a discussion on reddit where a businessman flamed Google hard for disabling his Automatic Call Screening whenever he flew to a country that didn't support it - which back then equalled 98% of the planet, except the USA, lel.
In the end Google, of course, didn't - or couldn't - care and his problem was not solved.

This is the only thing that holding me back to buy flagship pixel, volte which is 10 years old technology still locked for most countries, and they make it hard to unlock them (im still having trouble enabling them on my 4 xl), and 5g, lte+ feature. Why would we pay flagship price but couldnt get this important feature. Was thinking buying oneplus until then.

I wonder if someone have researched if it is even possible to get 5G with carrier not on Google's list? Carrier for sure supports 5g bands supported by pixel 6.
Thanks

Indeed! Whoops! Thank you. Edited my post.
You have to be on a mobile plan that supports 5G, not all plans support 5G because they want to charge you more to use it, or cap it or all the above.
Example from AU google approved provider, one plan now only supports 4G was only the top 2 previously when the phone launched.

I think Google really dont care about EU, in my country Denmark we dont have sub-6 but only mmWave, meaning my Pixel 6 Pro will never get 5g connection, kinda wierd to save some $ in the modem in EU models and not just give people both sub-6 and mmWave.
If i buy a model in the US there is 2 issues, 6+ months shipping and tax and customs making this phone close to 200% more expensive, and almost hitting the most expensive iPhone 13 pro max model.
And by that time i already have another phone.

Lol, its called Australia tax what we pay for everything here. No only home internet plans are unlimited, and those start at $69 per month.

You sure about that ? Because Telenor, Telia and 3 should all support older Pixel phones with sub 6, and i know i saw somehwere on google pages that those 3 carriers were mentioned to support Pixel 6 phones as well.

I find it hard to believe Google would impose this, not in their interest and too much time, and for what exactly what do they gain?
Read the post from @roirraW "edor" ehT in post 3 rather than posting partial fake news.
Yes it is down to google to decide which 5G they implement., there is a lot of controversy around this at the moment. I would be very certain google was aware of some of these 5G issues when they made the decision. One in particular as follows
Have you heard of aeronautical industry having issues with their instruments being seriously interfered with by some US carriers 5G implementations, bans now in place for many flights as a result.

Nice little screenshot of Googles page, that does not mean that the information there is true.
Infact i would have 0 trust when it comes to connectivtive issues and Google responces to it, i know for a fact that TDC have already sent google its Carrier settings multiple times over many years, but Google does not like our country so that config file on the firmware is empty, meaning that before you can even get a sms on the device you have to setup apn before it works, and you only get 2g 3g 4g from that, not mms which also is not there, LTE+ VoLTE VoWifi and 5g is all disabled in carrier config by google on all Danish networks/carriers.

I mailed to the CTDI service center in Europe for unlocking the CN version of OnePlus 11 region lock issue a week ago, today I received my phone, but I tried to insert the sim card again, I still received the warning of region lock from the system and could not enable the 5G signal from the Italian SIm card (5g signal at boot up, back down to 4g after a few seconds), the Chinese sim card was not affected affected and able to use the 5G signal from Vodafone. So, did their service center really have unlocked for me? And they don't want to deal with any other problems except unlocking the area, do they only learn to clear the data of customers' phones forever? Wasted a week of my waiting for nothing!

There is also a hot issue, which has been confirmed by OPPO. It is a software problem from Qualcomm, but I also asked the service center to check it, but they were unwilling. It was COS when I sent it to them, and they were unwilling to do anything more, even, what was the problem with my phone when it was sent, and they returned it to me as another phone with the same problem, except for factory reset .
It's normal because oneplus is managed by oppo.
you buy the phone that is not a zone in the country of sale This problem is affecting all over the world, the only way is to have a website to pay for unlocking. The price is not very high. In other cases, you have to contact the service center. With an official receipt, if you don't have it, you can't do anything.

I can't complain about their service. They have fixed sim lock for me, communication with them looked exactly the same, but I can use now Polish and German sim cards. Call them or write email, they seems to be very supportive (at least for me). I have also asked about installing Oxygen OS on my OP11 16GB/512GB but they have said that OP did not allow them to do and OP also added that they should not fix such a phones (for China market), because it is against their policy. So yeah hopefully this OP11 will be as good as my old OP7Pro
and one last word: **** you OPPO I was OP fan but this is my last unit, let us see what will be more worthy for them: having stupid policies or loosing core fans.

hmmm maybe those ****ers from OPPO have forbidden them to repair this problem? Maybe they have noticed that so many persons reported this already in EU and now they have decided to stop unlocking CN phones in EU?
For sure CDTI has all tools to unlock this sim region lock, but maybe OPPO stopped allowing them to use it?
In the email from CDTI to me, it was mentioned that my phone was first CN OP11 which they have encountered so far. Maybe I was lucky that they helped me but later they have updated their policies?? Only God knows what is happening there...

Probably not, I can speak Chinese, I contacted OPPO customer service in CN directly, and their senior account manager told me that they didn't do that. As for why CDTI said this, I am waiting for an email reply from Italy OnePlus customer service.

Yesterday One Plus contacted a service center very close to me for me (and obviously the assistance of OPPO in China, which should have contacted the top management of One Plus Europe) and today my phone is unlocked, but the SIM card problem does not work with 5G is still under investigation by them, but I suspect that the One Plus 11 is not in the operator's (TIM) 5G device white list.

So Oneplus just emailed you or they called you? I've been kept waiting for over a week, nothing happened. Tried oneplus france, oneplus CN, oppo CN, etc. No actual help was offered by anyone. Just be able to create the repair request yesterday, before it just kept saying my imei is under another existing process.

If you have an official proof of purchase and speak Chinese, I suggest trying to call China oppo at 00861095018 and then try to transfer to a human and they will help you contact the European one plus executives. If not, I suggest you contact the European one plus directly by calling them directly and asking them to arrange a professional to call you back, because using email is so inefficient that many times they will only get back to you the next day.
