Hi Everyone. I present to you an app to trigger Glove Mode on Sony Xperia devices that use custom roms. I created this app for people who want to continue using glove mode on custom rom to use in harsh winter. You can either trigger using app icon or QS tile. No UI is present in the app.
Important :- Root access is required. Draw over other apps permission required for unhindered toast messages. And you can trigger Glove Mode using this app only if the necessary files are present in the rom you are using.
Tested working on - XZ Premium ( Carbon 7.0/8.0 , Los17.1, Bliss 12.7)
Stutters - The QS tile might sometime hang and not work. If this happens, use the icon to trigger once and the QS tile should start working again.
Bugs - None so far.
If you benefited from this app, do leave a like .
If you would like to buy me a cup of coffee, donate here https://www.paypal.me/incrovantilist .
P.S - Huge Thanks to Tasker App Factory for making such apps possible.
P.P.S - Will try and publish the app on XDA Labs soon for posting updates easily.

No. Xiaomi's glove mode implementation may involve a different file to be triggered for glovemode on/off in kernel. This app triggers a specific file in a specific manner in sony kernel.
@ Incrovantilist.
I have good news, I have personally tested your app on Redmi Note 8 Ginkgo and it works with aosp rom (bliss rom).
But sometimes it doesn't work and in this case you just need to reopen your app and wait about 1 minute and it will work again. It can be said that it is 90% compatible. What is the file that changes your app at the kernel level? If you find other xiaomi / redmi testers with aosp roms and manage to perfect your xiaomi / redmi device app, that would be great.

Yes I agree with guspeed you do need to clean the proximity sensor as I had the same exact problem with my S4. I thought it was the ROM I was on at the time but once I cleaned the proximity sensor it worked like a charm. :good:
Hi. I've installed Mokee 5.1. Everything is awesome except one tiny but extremely annoying thing:
All lists in the OS and in all apps scroll with a crazy animation. It literally makes me seasick when I scroll through long lists.
I've googled up that Xposed can disable it, but unfortunately Xposed is not compatible with my device or firmware. How do I disable the scrolling animation manually?

I have made a mod for the oneplus one. And since i think these devices have much in common I'm curious if the mod works on the find7 as well.
Is there anyone who wants to try it?

@Thomson2412:
First of all - if anybody with Find 7 is to flash this, he will probably have a custom ROM and it does not have to be CM.
Your zip is obviously for CM ROM. I am using OmniROM with Android 7.1 at the moment.
I flashed it and found out it is not working at all. Altought, it does add the options to settings panel.
Setting any option does not do anything and checking Haptic feedback for any action causes crash.
---
When I flashed the Omni version you have in your original thread (after I removed the OnePlus related checks) the settings options were not there at all - it is in Settings - Device Features.
1. Setting app for Camera gesture works.
2. Clicking on setting vibrator strength causes crash.
And I might be wrong, but it seems that flashing that zip messed up my "menu button one-click".
I do not get any menu popups anymore. Even when I put the original version back..

I can't add gestures to a rom that doesn't have them by default because that would require a kernel change and I'm not capable (yet) to implement "new" gestures. Currently I don't have the time nor interest in learning how to change a kernel. So if your device doesn't have gestures I'm afraid I cant be of any help. I only alter what gestures do not add them or create custom ones.
I hope this answers your question, if not feel free to ask some more

If you are talking those off screen gesture features which comes in OPPO phones mostly (like draw C to open camera or draw M to open music app ) then these kind of features "by default" we dont have in any stock or custom rom But
if Double to tap wake screen (D2W) feature is enough to work your mod on my device then yes we do have this thing in all ROMs by default(kernel enabled )....,,

Hello all,
I am looking for a stable fully functional rom for my 3GB/64GB Helium.
I have tried Miui - but when I found out that there are (major) issues with using a smart watch (or more specifically with android wear and notifications) I decided to look for other options (as my watch has to work!)
I am trying now Lineage for Helium - what other options would I have?
What would you all recommend?
Thank you for any suggestions...
I use RR 5.7.4, I have zero problems with it.
I use Global Beta 7.1.19, I have zero problems with it )))

I tried the global ROM and had several issues when using my smart watch:
the silence / DND toggles are mixed up ( I select "silent" and it triggers "DND" on the phone)
no notifications of any kind arrived on my watch.
I did some search and found no solution (other than others confirming they had the same problem).
If I cannot use my watch with the phone then it is a no go.
Or are you successfully using an Android Wear watch - can you please tell me how?
"I use RR 5.7.4, I have zero problems with it."
Thank you for the reply. Do you use by any chance a smart watch as well ? Do notifications work?
sorry, i don't us smart watch.
I'm using the Xiaomi.EU Rom.
https://xiaomi.eu/community/forums/miui-weekly-rom-releases.103/
I've also rooted and xposed without much problem. While I'm interested in LineageOS, Xiaomi.EU Roms are much better than the official ROMs and the development team is excellent.
1) Copy M-ROM to your Internal Storage.
2) Reboot into TWRP
3) Backup everything(tick EVERYTHING). Keep it in a safe place (you might need to restore your basebands later if you run into a problem).
4) Wipe cache, dalvik cache, system and user data. Clean flashing is strongly suggested for stability.
5) proceed to install menu and select M-ROM.
6) You will enter the Chinese part;
FirstScreen:
Clear Data and Interface Selection
A)Do not clear user data(select this one)
B)Clear user data
Choose Interface:
C) Xperia Z Lock Screen(Strongly suggested for stability)
D) Xperia X Lock Screen
7) Next screens do not tick anything
8) Proceed to flash.
9) When flash ended, restart. The first restart might have bootloop which is normal. After nearly 10 min your device will boot. Root and Google services included.
For debloating Chinese apps install this app( You must delete all apps with Chinese names ):

Some battery draining during idle, probably it's a Nougat issue, still no M features as in MM, this is due to kernel cannot be fully rooted, so my advice is getting back to 1.9.5 and wait for further upgrades and full root.

Best probably is to use an aggressive thermal mod which keeps the device at 40-45°C max,
since that's the optimal temperature range for the battery, too
Lots of early throttling or only enabling 6 instead of 8 cores - similar to Snapdragon 808,
also underclocking the GPU helps A LOT (battery + temperature)

This is nice, but not really my thing when everything doesn't really work correctly. I've got to get into all the apps to start whenever restarting the phone. Something really annoys me like I use drupe or appsii apps , they're supposed to be shown on the screen, but they just appear for a few seconds and disappear, and just appear back when I get into the apps again
Updated: sorry I didn't know there has been an app called "brevent", preventing apps from running in background. Just have calling problems.

You're right. Call has bug. The other side could not hear you sometimes. But I have a solution. Put it on audio output mode.
This is just a simple Xposed module that disables pulling down the notification shade / quick settings tiles while on the lock screen (but doesn't break media player controls on lock screen). Only tested on Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL on Android 10 (more on this later).
Background: This has always been an annoying aspect of Android for me, and it's dumb from a security standpoint. Being able to pull down the quick settings tiles on a locked phone is dumb. Why hasn't Android natively built this in yet? Using this and Gravity Box to disable power menu on lock screen makes me feel a lot better in the event my phone ever gets lost or stolen. It's dumb that anyone can steal your phone and immediately toggle your settings (turn off WiFi, Mobile Data, toggle Airplane Mode, etc) and/or turn the phone off... I've been spoiled for years by the OG HTC devs (particularly LeeDroid and Team Venom) and their ROMs with these features baked in, so it's back to using Xposed to fill that gap for me and my wife, lol. Anyway, I pair these mods along with the Lockwatch app from Play Store and it gives me more peace of mind. Hey, anything to increase the chances of recovering a lost or stolen phone, am I right?
Credits / Technical Details: This module is based off of char101's published Xposed Repo module, and all credits and thanks should go to him. This is the first app / APK I've compiled so it was a nice learning experience, but it was all based off of his source and I really just needed to remove a few lines of code to get it to work properly with our phones. His mod worked fine and disabled the quick settings pull down on the lock screen, as intended. The problem was that it would also prevent media player controls from functioning (and I would assume other possible functions as well). To fix this, I just removed DISABLE2_NOTIFICATION_SHADE references from the code, leaving DISABLE2_NONE and DISABLE2_QUICK_SETTINGS untouched. The mod still works perfectly as intended. Only tested on Pixel 4 / 4 XL on Android 10. I'm sure it would work on other devices as well.
I really just did this on a whim for me and my wife's own phones and wasn't planning on sharing it, but I figure other people may have also wanted this for their P4's as well, so enjoy. Again, all thanks go to @char101!
Installation:
- Download .APK file attached to this post.
* If you have char101's original module installed already, I would highly recommend uninstalling it first.
- It's an Xposed module. Install the APK and enable in your Xposed Manager.
- Reboot and test.

Just noticed something that worried me at first, but turned out to be nothing of concern afaik, but in case anyone else gets spooked by it: I just noticed last night that if you launch the camera while on the lock screen, you can still pull down the notification shade. Same can be said for other apps that can be active over lock screen (e.g. Phone app during active call).
However, the quick settings are still inaccessible while locked. The notification contents that do show will follow the same rules as your settings, so if you have it set to hide sensitive notification content (which you probably should... otherwise 2-factor authentication is extremely pointless if your device were lost or stolen), you still won't be able to see the notification content itself, just that there is a pending notification for that particular app.
I hope you're finding the mod useful, for anyone who is using it. Please let me know if you find any issues with the module, thanks. I'm by no means a developer, but I have more free time than usual for obvious global reasons and it's a fun learning experience while the free time lasts. =)
I've been using the original NoQSInLockScreen, and while it did the job, it really bothered me that you couldn't use media controls on the lock screen (or expand notifications).
This mod took care of that problem. Really happy with it!
Just wanted to say thank you for putting it up!
Tested it on Android 9 (LineageOS 16.0).
Just wanted to stop in and say thank you for the awesome edxposed mod! I appreciate the extra security and hope you're doing well!

Just wanted to let you know, as a fellow (now former) user of this mod, that I found a better way of doing this! So just thought I'd share:
Using GravityBox app for EdXposed framework you can simply define which individual QS tiles you want to secure. That way you still have access to the QuickSettings pulldown menu from the lockscreen (unlike this mod which disables it altogether), but things like Wi-Fi, Location, Airplane Mode etc. are secure and not accessible until you've unlocked your phone. It's a much more practical and elegant solution in my opinion.
Check out my post on this from Reddit where I describe the steps if you're interested:

Can't wait to try, does your mod support Android 11?

I completely forgot about this mod, haha. But thanks for letting us know!
As @nanquan mentioned (a long time ago, lol), you can also achieve (essentially) the same thing by using GravityBox. It is indeed a more "elegant" solution, and since I already use GravityBox heavily, I now just use GB's tweaks to lock down the main comm tiles.
But I'm glad this still works, for those who still prefer to use it for whatever reason. I can see it still being useful if you have a lot of custom QS tiles and want to keep it all locked down.
Confirmed working A11 xtended rom, 1+7t

As well as enabling the module you need to tick the checkbox for 'system framework' and 'system ui'.
