Hi,
I'm having Redmi 1s India version.
I installed Chinese ROM on Redmi 1s just to check n test the ROM. After that I did WipeAllData using recovery mode. And finally updated to 45 India ROM. After update I can still:
1. See the Theme app in Chinese lang. Like the most of themes are listed in Chinese lang and as far i can tell in India/Global ROM it will be purely in english and themes will be different.
2. Default browser is showing everything in Chinese.
3. If I do the factory reset few ofhe apps will not be there after reset like MI Chat messagner, flipkart app(anyway this can be ignored ), Office app etc. I cant see office app at all now.
What is going on? Even after flashing it with Global latest ROM, why still its behaving like Chinese ROM.
Could you please help out here?
P.S. I root it and before installing 45 Global ROM i unroot it.
Thanks
try some other rom. and then again flash the miui rom or MiRed rom which you'll find in development section.

I played with my redmi in same way .....on the recieving day.... but there's a solution to it..
Since you removed all your data you wont mind flashing fastboot ROM ( Indian Version http://bigota.d.miui.com/JHCMIBF35.0/armani_global_images_JHCMIBF35.0_4.3_in_d693c8bd92.tgz )
There have been many updates latest being 45 ( still on Android 4.3 though )
DONOT delete factory reset /data Format in recoveries as all these apps ( WPS office / Flipkart and Country Zone info ) are in /data and Redmi behaves like a chinese device and scare you in browser and Theming apps.
I had a softbrick.
With the unbricktool everything well played, now it looks like there is no bootloader left.
at the oneplus one I had to play a Chinese software and then Android again.
is that possible with the Oneplus 3, if so how and with which software?

Hi,
I received one of the fake A2 Lite devices - it appears to be a Sakura with Daisy firmware and an AOSP ROM. Kernel is "Genoa". Obvs this is not a secure device but it's a HK seller so a pain to return. Is there anything I can do to put a ROM on it such that I know it's secure? The BL is unlocked but I've seen a few posts where people have bricked it. And I really don't want a MIUI device, I actually wanted Android One.

Sakura have some AOSP ROMs, there is no way to install Android ONE rom, since daisy have A/B partition, and Sakura have only A partition. But maybe I'm wrong, and in Sakura ROMs there is AONE port.
Put AOSP ROM for Sakura, if you phone is Sakura, you can't have AndroidOne official
try it: https://forum.xda-developers.com/re...rom-mi-a2-lite-stock-rom-port-sakura-t3925778
Thanks all. Looks like eglobal have been convinced and I can send it back to them.

I am running a EU (i think) note 8 pro with a global 12.5.7 official rom, it has way too many glitches i don't want to deal with and i wanted to change rom, i once tried and bricked it, i recovered it a bit after and that-s how i got 12.5.7, what's the safest way to mod it and what rom is the safest? I was looking at either CrDroid or CorvusOS, which one would you recommend?
To be fair, I have the stock rom, version 12.5.7 and is the most stable version I ve encountered. I have not considered any custom ROM yet because they all seem to lack behind the stock rom. Sure, you get better looks and the vibe of stock debloated rom. Then again you lose a lot of features, Bluetooth range is abysmal and performance is worse compared to stock. And don't get me started on hard bricking risks. My advice would be to make a full reset and stick to the stock rom.

1/You can find many free unbrick hardbrick videos for Redmi note 8 pro. And it's simple to unbrick (in my opinion).
2/You got brick because you didn't follow flash guide.
Example:
- You flash 12.5.x firmware based rom when you are using Miui 12.0.x
- You didn't format data or format data error
- ...
3/Each custom rom has it own support group in each thread. If you want recommend, join there to ask or try it yourself.
Pixel experience imo is good I used to use ppui but rip
