I had a softbrick. - OnePlus 3 Questions & Answers

I had a softbrick.
With the unbricktool everything well played, now it looks like there is no bootloader left.
at the oneplus one I had to play a Chinese software and then Android again.
is that possible with the Oneplus 3, if so how and with which software?

Will Chinese version of Xiaomi Mi 6 work properly with Google?

Hello everyone. I'm in China currently and I'll stay here for a while. I'm planning to buy Xiaomi Mi 6 from Taobao. Here is the link
So am I going to be able to use Google services? Play Store and all other if I buy this phone? Also, if not, I guess that I need to root my phone and install custom rom in order to get Google services. Is there any way to root and install custom rom as well as TWRP without using the computer?
Thanks
I've been to China and I bought a redmi not 3 there, in my experience there should be no problem; you buy the phone, unlock the bootloader and switch from China to global rom. Probably there is also the possibility to install Gapp on the Chinese rom. The only problem is that if you wanna use Google and it's services in China you better have a VPN
Oh, I understand. But it's not the same. Models are different. Actually I'm not sure. It's going to be my first Xiaomi phone. So far I'm familiar with Xperia and HTC. Love them both but "high" end devices are getting too expensive. I'm also considering to buy OnePlus 3T. What do you guys think which is better and easier for unlocking, rooting and installing custom roms?
I repeat again that I'm not familiar with these brands, never touched them actually I Need your help! And don't forget that I don't have PC. Unlocking bootloader, root, recovery and rom must be done without Pc. Help help help

Just unlock bootloader and flash Global rom via MiFlash. It's that easy.
My device is the Chinese model. Bought from a seller who just imports them and flashes the global ROM
The mi 6 models are all identical.
Global is the same as Chinese anyway just a different model number since they had to get more legal things pushed through to sell it internationally.
Buy the Chinese model in China. It will be cheapest there.
Then when you are back in a country which supports Google services you can unlock the boot loader, then flash using Mi flash to the global ROM.
Since the phone is identical this works fine. I was running the global ROM on mine (now custom ROMs).
Really a great phone and no issues for me.
Also checkout the mi mi 2 it looks pretty awesome but for a "smaller" device Mi 6 is fantastic.

If you don't have a pc I really don't know how to help you to my knowledge you can unlock the bootloader with a pc so there isn't any friend or acquaintance that can borrow you a pc for a couple of Hours ?

Xiaomi follows the same standard for all their models..
Want to Unlock the bootloader?
-Make a Xiaomi account
-Link the phone to your Xiaomi account
-Request them to allow you to unlock the bootloader
-Waits 72 hours
-Unlock bootloader.
Thank you all for replying, appreciate your help. I'm going to buy Mi 6. Actually I meet a guy today who is willing to help me and he knows about these things. So, buying, unlocking bootloader, flashing official global rom>using Google services Later if I want I need to root device install custom recovery and new rom. We'll see. Any recommendations for rom, with no bugs

Thanks! It's not overheating?
No, it's just too large for me. I like to use phone with one hand. I'm not a fan of displays larger than 5.5 inches so I'll stick with Mi 6.

You can switch from chinese to global rom(or indian rom if you want inbuilt call recording option) after unlocking bootloader and debloat it all after rooting..Or maybe just flash custom roms .

Hello Robert
I have ordered CN version Oct, and i have been using it ever since. Out of the box you will get 18w charger with adapter which is very good, i live in Bosina, both sims are working fine 4G works too. There is not much to be worried about in CN version it works great it gets latest builds of MIUI (compared to other versions). Only thing that was kinda a nitpick and kinda annoying for me from start is that you get few standard Chinese apps that you can delete, and some of main Mi apps keep giving notifications in CN like mi videos and very other few, but rarely and they can be blocked. When you power on a device for a first time and creating Mi account you will have to install gapps which you can do over integrated mi store as i can remember (just type google no need for Chinese fonts). After doing that and logging into your google account i recommend you to unlock bootloader, you will have to make a request for unlocking it takes 160+ hours for it to get approved. Install xiaomi.eu rom which is cleaned and optimized CN miui for global users with xiaomi devices and regular updates and builds. I am currently using xiaomi.eu rom its fast, it has also ability to update it with updater in system. Anyway it is up to your preference what you want from device, you can try to install global firmware without unlocked bootloader you can try, if you want or some other custom rom with unlocked bootloader.
Best regards

I think you can't unlock bootloader. So no root and no custom ROM for you. But you can debloat stock ROM and install many apps that are similar to /e/. No way for microG. Instead of play store i recommend f-droid and aurora store.

will anyone with technology clout confirm it cant root or custom rom?
Yes, there are no custom ROMs, nor will there ever be. I would stay away from Huawei in general, especially anything with a trailing nominal like, "Lite". If you can't afford a phone with higher specs, buy one that is a year old. Something like the Xiaomi Mi Mix series, in which the Mi Mix 2s already have Android 11 ROM's available.
I personally have the Mi Mix 3 5G, in which I paid only $250 for a brand new, sealed in box phone containing a QUALCOMM 855, 8GB RAM, 128GB ROM. Not just that but it is extremely easy to unlock and install custom ROM's onto.
In fact, they're probably one of the easiest to modify phones I have ever used.

Question Lost Google Play Protect Status since flashing from CN to Global

hey guys,
since i successfully flashed my Mi Pad 5 from CN to Global Rom a new problem occured.
I lost the google play protect status and cant install apps like netflix via the playstore. manual way with apk download works fine.
is there any possibility to get the google play protect status again?
tried different methods from google instructions but they didnt work.
my bootloader is still unlocked - is this the problem? its not rooted
thx
Hi,
I had the same problem and I learned that it's a problem you have to live with if you wanna use the global ROM.
Google Play certification and Netflix DRM require the bootloader to be locked BUT if you the bootloader is locked, the global ROM won't boot on a China device.
BE CAREFUL! If you unlink your Mi account and lock the bootloader while using the global ROM, you won't be able to unlock the bootloader easily, essentially bricking the device.
In my case, I went back to the China ROM since I bought the tablet mainly to watch Netflix.
It's true some features are missing on the Chinese ROM (like Google Assistant) and I still have some Chinese text in "Search" but Netflix works perfectly and I use my phone as my daily driver so I don't really need the missing features on Xiaomi Pad 5.
My suggestion is to flash back to China ROM and stay with it. Make sure you still have your Mi account linked to the device to avoid any bricking.

Are you sure? So its safe to buy the Chinese device with global rom and just update it and itll get google certified? Seems too good to be true. The open bootloader isnt a problem?
I cant tell you what decision to make, only what worked for me. Open bootloader is not a problem.

Thank you. I really dont understand anything in this regard. Is there any chance that your device doesnt have the firmware found on a Chinese device with global rom from aliexpress? (so your experience might not be relevant here)

Question Netflix on CN version mi pad 5

hi all newbie here i just got a Mi pad 5 from aliexpress chinese version but with global rom installed
Netflix dont work - how do i get this operatng - i uninstalled netflix and now the app doesnt appear on google play..
any help appreciated.
I have the EU version, bought in 2022, and Netflix doesn't work either.
And on the Mi 10T Pro it doesn't work either, nor can I install the APP because it doesn't appear on Google Play.
I bought Pad 5 from Amazon Spain (Amazon was the seller), and no issues with Netflix not showing up in Play Store or L1 certification.
I know no help to the problem but just wanted to chime in.
RKXEUXM 12.5.8.0
My Pad 5 has ROM 12.5.80(RJGEUXM)
I wonder was it bought from a seller that flashed a Global Rom (EU) on it, Homero2, compared to an "official" seller like Amazon?
Not saying that is the issue, but more wondering if it might be.

I bought it through Aliexpress Plaza.
I am downloading the ROM that yours has, once flashed I comment
Edit:
I have flashed with the RKXEUXM 12.5.8.0 ROM, and now Netflix works.
Thanks for the reference Atheosun
Edit 2:
Error, once identified, it asks me to update, and Google Play says that the APP is no longer compatible with my system
Edit 3:
I have already discovered the problem, having the bootloader open Netflix does not work, I have closed the bootloader and problem solved
Thank you for replying Homero2.
Glad you got it working.
So i wonder was it the bootloader being unlocked was the root cause and not the flashing of the EEA Rom?, or maybe both?
Just to help anyone who searches and finds this thread.
L1 certification working OK after flashing the EEA rom?
I have a bootloader unlocked and rooted Chinese Pad 5 running global V12.5.11.0.RKXMIXM.
I have both Widevine L1 and Netflix L1/HDR.
