disable the camera

i know it's a little weird question but, hot can i disable both cameras of the 5x deleting some libraries or some file so the camera won't work on any app
Remove libraries could make some trouble. However, there is an easier way to do that, you may consider that use device policy to disable camera (just go play store and search nocam )

Actually this app is doing something on system level via device manager api and cant be simply override (without system permission or above),you may also consider using xposed.

You need to build android with nuking the camera which is not that hard, I can do a build for you if you want, just join the pixel experience group for bullhead and ask for francois.

What is the ultimate way to gain privacy on Samsung S20 Ultra (iPhone User Here)

Hello,
I have the Samsung S20 Ultra and I'm extremely impressed with it. However I'm paranoid about the integration with Google and the tele-metrics.
The phone is amazing and makes my iPhone 11 feel like 4 years old, the battery is better, the screen, it's fast - the first time I've considered switching full time.
What is the best way to improve privacy on this device?
Is there a way to install xLuaPrivacy, or it root needed?
Is there a custom ROM that has privacy features?
Is there a firewall I can use to control traffic out?
I'm a little out of date with the development world as I last had a Samsung Note 4.

There are private dns and VPN options built into the device (at least the unlocked ones), which you can point at any service you want, so you just need to find one that suits your specific needs or run your own at home (which you can do easily with even the cheapest Raspberry Pi and the free Pihole app). It's always best to use this method rather than local software - it's less resource intensive, doesn't require root, and gives you more assurance that things are working the way you think they are.
As above, pihole & dns.adguard.com
For maximum security, do not root the phone.
And put the apps you feel that require more security on secure folders. That's an extra layer of protection there. There is a dedicated chip for encryption and security on the s20 just for the purpose of security and privacy.
If u know what u are doing, you can even root the phone, miss out on knox and secure folders, but install other more interesting stuff like firewall to control what apps get to use internet.
For me, secure folders, vpn is good enough.
I love the extra privacy of the secure folders.. It has its own phone book, phone app.. It's like a second phone in there and not accessible from outside.
And you can hide many things in there Including apps. Just rmb to switch off notifications from the app in secure folders..
I have a wife that loves digging through my phone.. You can customize the secure folder name and icon. I even put it on my app drawer.
You can also freely move stuff in and out of secure folders.

If you want to get away from Google, then you need a Google-free phone. Something that runs LineageOS. Of course, installing LineageOS requires rooting, which also compromises security to a degree. So it is a trade-off. But if you are *really* paranoid about Google tracking you, then you need to get rid of everything Google, including Google Play Services. And the only way to do that is by using a phone without Google Play Services preinstalled.
xPrivacyLua requires Magisk, which requires unlocking the bootloader. If you have a Exynos model, then you can unlock the bootloader. If you have Snapdragon, then you can't. And any software firewall will require access to system files, which is impossible without root.

Agreed. I use Pi-hole at home, and dns.adguard.com as my default DNS. Both are very effective at blocking ads, but neither are comprehensive solutions for extremely privacy-focused individuals.

This is OT, but if your wife (or anyone else) is constantly snooping your phone, then there are obviously trust issues that should be addressed.
I use adguard + nordvpn + dns to block all ads and to control the Internet filtering better.
With ADB commands you can uninstall all bloatware and unnecessary stuff or disable them with package disabler Pro.
I'm on snapdragon and waiting for root release so I can use more privacy apps with magisk/xposed.

Any ideas which filter blocklist is stopping my S20U from checking for firmware updates?
If I set private DNS back to automatic it works fine, using nextdns kills it

Disable blocklists one at a time until you can check firmware again, and you'll have the answer.

Odd, I've been using nextdns for over a month and on 2 June I was able to download & install ATE6 (the Australian releases are always slowwwww ...).
You can look at your nextdns logging to see what's being blocked when you try an update. The results are pretty much live; I used the logging to work out what was causing an app problem and whitelisted a few sites based on the blocked results in the log.

Is it possible to have G pay on Linege with microG and Magisk

I was wondering if it were at all possible to have Gpay with MicroG services using Magisk hide etc?
I have a Pixel 3XL and recently Lineage was released for the device, I would like to switch to that OS.
Any input is helpful, thanks.

When i see reports about privacy issues with Google pay, I don't think microG will make a significant difference.
If I ever get forced to pay with my telephone, i will buy an iPhone.
I'll never use an iPhone, I tried, it's terrible.
You could go to a Samsung phone instead, they have their own secure payment services.
So re my question, is it possible?

Question Samsung Fold 4 Debloat

Hey guys has anyone used "ADB AppControl" to debloat app/programs on the Fold 4 yet or even tried this link with the lists they name to debloat?
https://www.getdroidtips.com/uninstall-bloatware-samsung-z-flip-4-z-fold-4/#Samsung-Galaxy-Z-Flip-4-Galaxy-Z-Fold-4-Device-Overview
I've used ADB Control App, no issues.
I'm using Package Disabler, used to be in the app store but now it's cloud based. Used it on my Note 10, Note 20 and have just started to debloat the Fold 4 with no issues. Just have to be careful what you select as it may have something to do with something you use. Fairly inexpensive and works. Also don't need a PC so you can disable on the fly.

Same, used adb control and debolted the minute i got the fold 4 lol. Feels so snappy and clean

Hi, this website isn't opening. Is there a place from where i can download this app? Thanks!
I'd recommend ADBAppControl. It's free for all your devices, no need to purchase again every time you buy a new device.

I don't believe there is. I always have to use my PC and transfer to the phone. Just tried again on my PC and the site might be down for maintenance, there's a separate DL site and it's not responding either. I'll email them and see if I get a reply.

Thank you, I used the this app on my windows 10 machine and was able to delete using that app.
I use Icebox, disabled (not uninstalled though) around 100 apps, works a treat!
Been using ADB App Control for my least 3 Samsung phones, Fold 4, Flip 3 and S10+ to freeze apps. Never had any issues, and the extended (paid) version is worth the money, better than some app on the Google Play that needs to rebuy after a major
software version update.

The site is back live again. The only problem with the other app touted here, ADP App Control is that you can't disable on the fly..................you need a PC to make it work.

I highly recommend ADB AppControl, or any other PC method of disabling bloatware on your phone.
Reason being, if you happen to disable something critical for the phone to operate like normal, like what I did...., then you still have a chance to revert your changes, and avoid having to reset your phone. If I had made the same mistake using an app on my phone to disable bloat, I would have been forced to factory reset!

I respectfully disagree, with the app you can re-enable immediately and not have to wait until you get home to your PC. I have disabled a system I shouldn't and was able to fix it on the fly without a PC or a factory data reset. I have no issues with adb app control but I don't want to have to rely on a PC when I'm away from home. I am proficient in using adb and even that can be reversed without FDR!

Question enable taskbar with ADB?

Just wondering why when you reenabled it it didn't work. A lot of people on here are using an app to disable services that you need a PC and your phone to work. I have disabled 20 or so services that I don't use but if I ever need them I can just reenable them with the app and have done so on occasion. Never the less I'm glad you got it straightened out.
