Speed up your fingerprint unlock and make it faster - Samsung Galaxy A50 Guides, News, & Discussion

Hey guys I found this guide on how to make your A50 fingerprint faster..
1) Open Settings, go to Apps, tap the 3-dot menu button at the top and select Show system apps.
2) Search for com.samsung.android.biometrics.app.settings and select it.
3) Go to Battery » Optimize battery usage and make sure you have selected All apps from the drop-menu at the top.
4) Search for com.samsung.android.biometrics.app.settings again and tap the toggle to disable this function.
5) Reboot your phone to apply the changes.

I didn't see much of a difference really. And I suppose it drains your battery more?

with android 9 i had it disabled before and with android 10 it is still disabled.
I don't know if it is placebo but with android 9 i noticed a speed up already.
with android 10 fingerprint works like it should be , i tested the scanner and fingerprint 3 was recognised all the time so i deleted fingerprint 1 and 2.
First I hated the fp scanner but now I love it.
p.s I have no protection glass.

I'm pretty sure this app is just biometric settings.

No battery drain issues for me, and it worked pretty well dunno for others

I guess this would not apply for facial recognition?
btw, can someone please ping me? I'm on legacy obviously and need to check if notifications would work doing the same thing. on topic sorta [emoji56]

[Q] New battery/recycle slider in notifications in new 4.3 leak?

Sorry if this was answered somewhere, but search didn't return any results.
I don't even know what to call it.. It's the second slider right under the brightness one. What the heck is it?

Never seen it before neither have I see an option to enable it anywhere. I'm using the leaked MI6 4.3 rom. Was it there by default?

There is a bug in google backup service
There is a bug in google backup service, google backup service acquires wfii connectivity lock and does not release it for hours which prevents device entering deep sleep and as a result drains battery. Fortunately you can disable backup in Settings->Accounts->Backup and Reset-> uncheck 'Backup my data'. This should resolve the issue ... after a full recharge monitor your battery stats - Android OS should NOT be on the top.

After some investigation I've came to a conclusion that the problem is in the wifi manager itself. In normal case this lock should be held no more that 1-2 seconds for the entire battery charge. I've developed an application that will give an automated solution for this problem.

I have unrooted bootloader locked Oneplus 3, updated to oos 4.0.1 . I have used for 2 full days and 3 charge cycles. have also done multiple cache clearing. have done a full wipe of data from default recovery too.
I had the same problem on the oos 4.0.0 update and had also done a full zip sideload for that version , but to no avail.
please have a look at the screen shots and judge for yourself. also a video of the gaming lag is linked below.(game - modern strike online).

I am not facing these issues but OP3 has a terrible WiFi that's for sure.
Same here, but I was able to solve. Try disable aggressive doze (I already use greenify) and startup app control in "apps". My battery is normal now, I'm on 4.0.1.

Okay. I'll disable agressive doze and app hibernation and try using greenify. Lets see. Thank u.
@tomriddle25 that's not terrible, show me as screenie when your battery hits 15% or below. My experience is that 100-85 drops really quickly and same for 50-0%
Been perfect battery life for me also, using aggressive doze and app hibernation.
An app must be causing your issue. I disabled and uninstalled greenify and my device had been flawless.

[Guide]Enable Fingerprint scanner without enabling AOD[Android 10]

Android 10 has arrived to our Mi A3. We users used to unlock the device by directly putting our fingers to the on-screen fingerprint scanner on Anroid 9.
I am not sure if xiaomi intended to not directly unlock the device on its idle state. But instead enable the double tap to wake the on-display fingerprint sensor.
Follow this guide to enable double tap to wake the on-display fingerprint sensor.
1.) enable the "Show fingerprint icon when the screen if off" under the fingerprint settings.

}
2.) enable the "New notifications" inside the Display/lockscreen settings.

3.) Now turn off the display and double tap the screen, NOT the fingerprint sensor.

NOTE: if one of these toggles are disabled, you will have difficulties looking for your on-display fingerprint scanner..hehehe
Goodluck and God bless.
Perfect, thanks !!!
Doesn't work for me.
কাক্কু কাজ করে না ????
MOD EDIT: Please post only in English according to the FORUM RULES,translation added below:
The doesn't work
It does not work, there are other ways to re-activate the fingerprint but after a few minutes it stops working. Don't think there is a solution, just wait for an update that corrects this

Question Problem with some running apps

I am experiencing some problems after receiving the S21 FE, there is an application that I use at the gym that whenever I change the application, when opening a second or third application, this first mentioned application closes.
I've noticed this with other newly opened apps as well. I've already tried changing the app's settings by putting it in priority mode and setting it to multitasking and it doesn't solve it. I've even tried changing the settings of apps running in the background.
I mention this app in particular because it worked perfectly on the Galaxy S20. All my training progress is erased when the app closes and this is really annoying.
Turn off adaptive battery etc.

Is yours One ui 4? Here the options are different. I tested it here by disabling the adaptive battery in the last few days but it is still closing background apps. It's a very annoying thing that I didn't feel on my S20

You have more options but it's the same junk.
Specifically what is it closing? Music? Bluetooth?
Check individual app settings as well.
I don't upgrade my N10+'s because of things like this. They're optimized... too much that can get broken.

Stopping Apps from Deep Sleep

Hi,
I have the following phone:
Samsung Galaxy S20 (SM-G988U1) Ultra 5G (SnapDragon) [Not Rooted]
Android 13 & One UI 5.1
(I run Nova Launcher)
I have both Avast AV and a Notification app that I use and which need to run all the time. For their Battery Usage, I set them both to "Unrestricted" and I did also Disable the "Remove Permissions if App is Unused" setting for both apps.
What's happening is that every time I Reboot my phone, I get a Notification from "Device Care", that says it put the apps to sleep because they were "sending unnecessary notifications and slowing down your phone".
The same thing is happening on my wife's Samsung Galaxy A71 5G phone as well (running same OS & UI as mine), so I know it can't just be my phone. Plus we bought them just a couple of months ago new.
Please help??? I wish to keep my hair in my head!
Thank You!
Dave
Disable global power management.

Developer options>standby apps, when global power management is disabled all bucket states show as active.
Otherwise optimize the phone by dealing with apps on a case by case basis. Limiting data and battery use in the individual app settings doesn't effect global power management. Use Package Disabler or adb edits to kill unneeded apps that are using excessive battery and do not respond to more civilized methods of control.
