Banding / lines in video mode with LED light - Redmi Note 8 Questions & Answers

Hi,
I recently noticed that when I'm taking a video in 30fps is showing some banding. It happens in all cameras, stock, gcam, also tried whatsapp video. Even if I'm not recording and I just look at the screen in video mode I can see those lines, but if it's on photo mode no lines. And it's only with LED lights, not with day light.
I uploaded a video on youtube to see the banding I'm talking about. I can't share the link here because I'm new user, so it's not letting me do it. Is there another way of sharing the video? I tried taking screenshots but it's very hard to appreciate it.
Thank you!

Change anti banding from camera settings to 50HZ or 60HZ based on your region...check NTSC and PAL regions on internet...if PAL region then use 50HZ if NTSC use 60HZ

Taking photo while shooting video?

Can any body help? Can't seem to figure out how to take pics while recording a video. I had to result to looking through the manual (hangs head shame) it says to press the camera icon but I don't have one in video mode?
Was hoping to use this afternoon when some guys that should be cycling in France come past my neck of the woods.
There is a camerabutton on the left when taking videos, if you have chooses to see the buttons by touching the "tree dots" up in the right upper corner.

I only have the 3 dots in camera mode, as soon as I hit the video button it starts recording and the dots disappear?
Three dots just for getting the buttons to apperar, it's like two different modes. The uber simple mode with no,buttons and the normal with buttons. When you have booth camera and video button they should not go away?
I'll try to get a screen dump when,I get back home.
Has anyone confirmed that this works? Is it possible that this mode is disabled when shooting 4k video? Thanks!
There is a separate camera button that appears while recording the video. However its only available in 1080p and low, not available in UHD mode.

Not available in UHD is disappointing. Even if the pics were of a lower quality I could live with that, but to make it not available at all is odd.
Yeah, it's not available when taking 4K video. But hey ho, I usually find if I want a picture during a 4K video, I will use the snapshot feature in VLC to grab a frame from the video afterwards. The res may not be as high as 10 or 13MP, but I'm coming from a HTC One so it's still a lot better than that

Low light video

When shooting a video in low light I can see the subjects just fine on screen while recording. However once I complete the video (the whole time thinking everything was visible) and go to watch it I find the video is much darker than when I was taking it (still on the device screen). Anyone else notice this or know what to do to fix it? Not sure why it is so much brighter and more visible during the recording. Seems like it should be just as bright as it was when I was recording it.

Make sure you have HDR set to auto or On.

Thanks. I'll give it a try. Thought hdr was only for photos.

Tried low light video with hdr on. Made no difference. I believe hdr only works for photos. It takes several photos at different exposures abd the combined them to one photo with the best of each one.
Thanks for the idea. Anyone else experience this or have an idea?
I'm also experiencing this issue. It's definitely lower light than it should be. Once video stars, it says something about auto-night mode being unavailable and the video comes out much darker than a photo would. I didn't see any way to turn night mode on manually. Ideas?

[Q] PIxelisation problem on dark/black scene while streaming

Hi! I've got some serious pixelisation/artifact problem when i stream to netflix or youtube.
The problem seems to be related at the black color. Most of the time when there is a dark scene or some black element in a scene i will see some kind of pixel/artifact. I took a screenshot of a scene in a godzilla trailer but ... For some reason it look good while on my tablet its not.
On the picture attached on the left building most of the left side in the black area is pixelated on my tablet (i dont know why its not on the screenshot)
I tried to turn off the adaptive display while whatching videos but... it doesnt help. I also tried different streaming option (auto, low, med, high resolution) with netflix but it didnt helped.
I would like to know if its normal or i've got a faulty tablet (its the 2nd tab s i've got with the same issue).
Thank you
It`s hard to see from that photo, have a search for "black crush" problem that affected Samsung displays in the past, see if your problem is the same, but this problem affects all video not just streaming, maybe it`s a compression problem from poor quality steaming.
I save your photo and loaded it into paint.net app and used the auto levels setting, as from your photo i could only see the center bright section.
John.
I would say it's more to do with the fact that the display has such a high resolution it is capable of showing up artifacts within the video that maybe another display is not capable of displaying.
I know the tab had a high res but this issue doesnt seem really normal to me.
i just did an exchange for another Tab s and it does the same thing on netflix. Is this possible because the resolution of the tab is 1.5x higher than 1080p i've got this issue?
I convert all my video`s to 640x360 on my 10.5" and they look great, so it`s more likely a streaming compression problem and not resolution.
John.

Google Photos does not show 1080p 60fps or 4K video?

I've noticed that any 60fps 1080p video or 4K video that I take on my Pixel XL and upload to Google Photos always shows up as plain old 1080p. Has anyone else noticed this?
I've noticed that if I download the same video in Google Drive to my machine, 60fps or 4K remains intact- but not when playing back in the browser (either in Drive or Photos).

When playing back in photos, do you adjust the quality in the bottom right? (Similar to YouTube)
Update: I see now. Even though it's got the quality options in the lower right, the options are limited to Auto are various resolutions from 1080P on down. No 4k or 60fps. Weird.

Yep very weird. I haven't seen anyone else talk about this issue either.
I am guessing that like YouTube that because the screen of the Pixel XL is 2k it doesn't give the option for 4k play back on the phone itself
That's a shame.... It should at least do the 60fps

Weird hdr behavior

I noticed something strange with hdr videos on my device, and I would like to know if it's something that only affects my device, or if is normal for all op7ts out there.
In some apps, but not all of them, half of my screen looks like an ips (not pure blacks, looks like a backlighted screen) while the other half is perfectly fine.
As an example, If I watch hdr content from Netflix the half of the screen close to the top camera it's always weird (like I said, as it's an ips screen with washed blacks), while the other half it's perfect. Between the two halfs there is a sort of "gradient", from washed black to pure black.
Youtube hdr content, for comparison, it's flawless and blacks are always perfect.
Is this a problem with my device?
I have the same behavior in my OP8pro using PIP youtube vanced with HDR video, I think it´s a software problem, maybe the screen can dislay half HDR video. Maybe they think if you wanna watch a HDR video you would use full screen.
