How Can I recover a deleted folder? - Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro Questions & Answers

Hello, I deleted a folder by accident cleaning my phone, this folder have a lot of images and I can't recuperate it. I tried a lot of apps but I think I need to root the phone and here is the key. I haven't unlocked yet my mobile, so I've seen very tutorial in which unlocking the phone would involve wipie all the data, so It is stupid wipe all the data because I couldn't recovery my folder then.
Sorry if it wouldn't clear explained.
So, Some ideas about how to recover my folder without root or there are any way to root without wipe all the data.
Thank you

Question about rooting

I'm trying to root GN but it seems that we MUST unlock bootloader to root.
I know how to do it but just worrying about what will be wipe with unlock, I've just spent whole afternoon setting up this phone and don't want to do it again?
Will I loss:
-Launcher setting? ADW setting?
-Downloaded application? and their setting?
-Do I have to redo all the widget?
I just want to use juicedefender and RE but don't want go through all the trouble again
I think unlocking the boot loader wipes the device. Make a titanium backup first an extract the back up from the sdcard then restore once complete.

As far as I've seen, Google has programmed the device to wipe the /data partition when the unlock command is executed.
This will wipe all application settings including downloaded applications, widgets and the Launcher as they are all stored on the /data partition.
If you dislike this, Google is the place to file the complaint as this is their standard procedure on all their Google "Nexus" devices.
The only upside will be, once you've unlocked, you'll be able to gain root access and be able to have complete control over the device including full backups of all settings to prevent ever having to re-set them again. Unless of course you start flashing lots of custom ROMs which are imcompatible with each other, but that is perhaps another story.
Hope that helps!

I've never used Titantium backup, but many people seem to say a lot of positive things about it. I've also read Titantium backup requires root access.
The Android security structure ONLY allows the root user full unlimited access to the /data partition. Otherwise, each application is assigned a linux UID/GID and only allowed access to their respective directory. According to the Android security structure, no application should be able to access another aplication's directory w/o sharing the same signing key or having root access.
I could be wrong, but I'm definitely certain regarding Android's security structure for "sandboxing" the applications.
Hope that helps clarify!

Back up data before unlock bootloader

Can i back up my data and system and all apps before unlock bootloader ?
Cause i dont want to lose any data
Yes you should because unlocking bootloader will wipe all the data. Do it manually via USB file transfer.

Sorry but apps data cannot be backed up because root is required for this in the first place. You will have to sacrifice such apk data.

Accidental Factory Reset & Wipe - How to recover app data & files?

Hi I think I may have triggered accidentally by long pressing the Power & Volume buttons, a Recovery and Wipe of Apps and Personal Files.
On starting the OP5T, it is like a Factory Reset with all accounts, apps, files deleted.
Is it possible to recover the files from the Memory? I have already tried Dr Fone but this only sees the files I can see using Windows Explorer. I need to go deeper in the hope that the files are still in the memory of the device.
There are no Backups to recover.
Urgently need help because I cannot use the phone, hoping I can recover files before reinstalling all the apps and potentially over-writing the memory of the files I want to recover.
Thanks in advance!!
Guess no reply means no :crying:

Recover Files

Hi, I recently moved some photos from the gallery into the secure folder's gallery and from there I sent them to the recycle bin and afterwards permanently deleted them. But I didnt realized that among the photos that I erased was one that I still need.
My questions is if I can recover the files that were deleted from the secure folder without rooting. My phone is not rooted.
If there isnt another way other then first rooting the phone and then trying to recover the photo could somebody provide a link to a thread with a tutorial for begginers maybe? My phone is a SM-G960F model.
Sorry to hear that. Is there any backup file of the deleted photos? If yes, you can recover the deleted photo you want from the backup file easily. If no, the only way is asking for help from pro shop or data recovery software like Dr.fone, Coolmuster Lab.Fone for Android, Easeus MobiSaver, etc. Do remember that you need to make sure it not being overwritten by new data. And you need to root it before using such software. Of course, if the deleted photo saved on your SD card, you don't need to root your phone. Hope this will be your help.

Recover deleted files from internal storage without root?

Hi everyone,
unfortunately, I uninstalled an app and it deleted the folder with all backups as well. I am now searching for a way to recover deleted files from internal storage without root (since my phone isn't rooted and I can't root it either because it's a work phone). Does anyone know how I could do that?

Hi, I had a similar issue deleting photos on another rooted device and still couldn't recover the files using rooted recovery apps... So although never finding a solution, all i can say is you could try some pc smartphone recovery software, and that might probably be the only way you can recover some of the files. Also in the mean time don't copy another files or install apps to the phone becuase that will overwrite deleted files making them totally/permanently lost.
