I bought a S20 from Swappa and I’m wondering if it’s real. Here is the report CPU Z is giving me. Can one of you with an s20 install and run this please?

It’s working with my sim in it. It’s new and I paid $625 for it. Got me to thinking.

Well suppose someone gets an s20 on payment plan using someone else's information. They sell the phone online and pocket the cash. The phone will work during this period.
Meanwhile, the carrier sends notices of nonpayment to the person who's idenitity was stolen. It could either be sent to collections or reported as fraud/stolen.
The phone will get blacklisted several months later, after you had been using it all that time. There are ways to determine if a phone has obligations. Just becuase you put your sim in and it works does not mean down the road it will continue to work. Unless you are 100% certain the phone is paid off, you never really know. Here's a link to the determine if the phone has a balance owed for the major carriers.

To any US buyers who bought the tablet at any store but the Google Play... is there a Global Warranty card or paper in the package?
Asus tells me that they repair any of their product if there is such a warranty card. This could be inside the box or a piece of paper given by the store, I dunno. You guys got such a card?
I got mine from BestBuy and there is a booklet market "Warranty & Safety". Reading through it has a page titled:
10. international Warranty Service

just to back up PMentior got the same thing ... a booklet no card..
Thank you all for your help! This is promising.
If I may ask one last thing: can any of you contact Asus and ask whether your model is definitely good for Global Warranty? They say over here that they can tell the exact warranty condition based on your model's serial number, something I don't feel comfortable asking to check myself. Would much appreciate it.
I will look in to it when I get home form work.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 4
In the meantime, if anyone has 2 minutes to check their serial with Asus (via mail or hotline), they can easily tell the device's warranty options.
Mine first Gen nexus was purchased in the usa , and fixed in europe at no extra cost.
Hope it helps.

This booklet on its first page gives serial number and an overview of how to claim warranty depending on your situation. The receipt you have for the purchase is the day when your warranty shall start. If you lost it, then Asus will use the serial code to determine when the product was made and that would be the warranty date.
I would take this as warranty.

Yes, this is how Asus does it. I'm just waiting for anyone to check their serial at ASUS and ask whether their model (= any from their store and probably from any US store) is definitely good for Global Warranty. Answer is most likely yes, but I need a confirmation before purchase, as too many are having too many issues. I may even sit this one out due to GPS issues which is a major concern of mine...
A call to Asus someone please.
bump
Heres what asus website says about the matter, date of shipping being the main word there but I am sure a print out of a receipt from a online store will suffice if no card is present. I am going to try phone them tomorow but I will be phoning the South African branch but I will report back anyway
Any luck at Asus?
I'll have one more round. Someone pls. phone Asus and ask Global Warranty status based on their serial.

I don't think that is correct though. I'm pretty sure my S9 has been left on for over a week and it hasn't appeared.

The OEM UNLOCK appears but all of the usual unlock proccedure produces no Bootloader Unlock when it resets.

If it were stolen and "blacklisted", I doubt the device would be working fine.
Unless "blacklisted" is only effective for use in the USA, as Google suggests.
Google:
............... Blacklisted phones can’t be used in the United States, but some companies can unlock them for international use.

Mine is a Verizon phone purchased form UAE, it also shows blacklisted but it works just fine. I receive monthly updates without any problem, even adb sideloaded android pie full OTA when it got released. Main issue with mine is that I cannot unlock its bootloader so obviously can't root it but i believe you can unlock yours and root it.

If it's working and it says it's blacklisted, it's probably a U.S. only thing as Google suggests.
Clearly someone managed to get Google financing and stopped making payments. So no, you didn't buy a stolen phone. Anyway, the blacklist carriers use here in the United States is only effective if the phone itself is in the US. In your case, where you are in Pakistan, the device will work normally even though it's blacklisted.
For a period of time there was talk of every carrier worldwide using the same blacklist, which would really ruin your day. As of now, obviously nothing has come of it.
Generally a IMEI will only be blacklisted in the country it was reported stolen.
Is it possible to flash from an "F" DS to a "FN" DS ROM to enable NFC?
So I just realized my new A505 F/DS does not have NFC while I was setting up Google Pay. It's the one feature I used very often with my old phone at point of sales, so I am really depressed about it. Before I attempt to return the phone, is it possible to just flash the FN ROM? Assuming that the hardware exists?

There is a NFC chip in Samsung A50. The part number is GH42-06264A . So, even though the model number is same, they may manufacture with or without the hardware. If the hardware is there, they may have disabled it. For ex: All Non-US Mobile phone manufacturers were asked to disable NFC chip by the US government.
Also, You need DRM keys to enable the hardware. As far as I know, there are no such keys released by Samsung
Hii have a zfold 4 f936b bought from eBay.
It says IMEI is 00000000 and when I insert sim nothing happens.
Any idea what are my options ? Some people say is a demo phone but it don't look like some other says the user trying to root it but failed. Obviously eBay seller won't take any responsibility
Look forward for your comments.

I waited to long can't do it now . Now my only hope it's to find a way to make this work more than using it as a tablet
when you bought the phone. was it specified in the ebay description that the phone is faulty/locked/imei probelm/etc? was it ":buy as is"? if yes, then you might be in a bit of a pickle of trying to complain/return it. however, if the description said the phone was fine and had no issues: how long ago was the purchase? if you paid by paypal, i believe you have 45 days from the day you paid to lodge a dispute.

Sorry, meant to respond but was in out of service area..
Yeah, you were ripped off... Someone has done something that has wiped the IMEI number. Unfortunately it is a mother to fix, if it can be (Might lose IMEI everytime the phone is reset).
Been years since I had to play around with that and the programs I used to use probably don't work anymore, if I even had them backed up anywhere...
Unfortunately this is the risk of buying off Ebay.
May be a demo phone, all demo devices sent to retailers have no IMEI ie 00000..
Probably snatched from a TMO or VZW and reflashed.
