Is this for real or just clickbait?
Source: https://www.goandroid.co.in/unlock-bootloader-of-galaxy-s9-plus-snapdragon/84688/
Certainly not the US version but if the OEM unlock option is available in settings then I guess it's possible on the few other places that got the snapdragon.

The author made a comment claiming that the OEM Unlock will appear if the phone is left on for a week. Check it out.
I don't think that is correct though. I'm pretty sure my S9 has been left on for over a week and it hasn't appeared.

its not for U or U1 variants... at the same time, the site is not BS because HK/China and LATIN AMERICA devices are also snapdragon..
just bcuz it says snapdragon doesnt mean its USA variants
Why is USA s9/s9+ locked but others are not this seems like Sammy fell into carrier bs making them a bad brand for me I will be buying other brands b4 I'm ever locked down again..
Root ok I can deal with out if need to be but this not able to use Hotspot is driving me crazy to a point I'm considering sim unlocking my HTC 10 and going back to that this is insain

Can confirm, my SM-G9600/DS (Hong Kong Snapdragon S9), has OEM unlock option in developer settings.

Well nothing on mine Canadian version. NO OEM Unlock
I have a Samsung Galaxy A01 (SM-A015M/DS) Latin American version, Region Panama, with Snapdragon processor. My experience posted here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/help/how-root-device-samsung-galaxy-a01-t4167509
The OEM UNLOCK appears but all of the usual unlock proccedure produces no Bootloader Unlock when it resets.

Hoping to get some info, before purchasing:
can I use the TMO version of the Note 3 with Lycamobile in the US, and with local sim cards in Europe?
Would it need to be unlocked for each individual sim? Or is there a way to unlock for use with any sim card, no matter the country?
I'm currently still using my trusty old HTC Incredible 2, but it's time to find something newer.

Thanks!
Did you get it unlocked by T Mobile?
Did it work with Giff Gaff "automatically", or did you have to enter the APN etc.?
I plan to purchase the phone outright, and not get a plan with TMO.
From reading online, it sounds like there is not just the sim lock to deal with, but also a region lock.

Giff Gaff sent me the text messages that automatically configured the APN. I used cellunlocker to have the SP locked removed before going to London , UK.
If you have a n900t there is no region lock and i used it overseas. It's my understanding that sim unlocked phones are the ones that are region locked.

Yeah! I used giff gaff in the UK and NI last year. Amazing cell plan prices over there! Fonic/Lidl in Germany is not bad, either.
How do you like the Note 3 in general? I'm trying to justify spending that kind of money on a new phone, especially since my old one still works.

Indeed, I agree. Legere from T Mobile has a long way to get to those standards if at ever... Although he is trying this side of the pond.
I moved up from a Galaxy S4 which I only had for about 1 month before going to a Note 3. Prior to that I was an IOS person for 4 years or so since being in the USA. No regrets, was a bit of a learning curve mind

Anytime buddy, enjoy your trip and be safe
I have decided (if it is inexpensive enough) to purchase a Note 4 off-contract for use with AT&T.
My question is: which models are compatible with AT&T, in all respects. I don't want to sacrifice legitimate LTE connectivity, and I've read elsewhere that some of the factory-unlocked models don't play well with AT&T's LTE network, depending on where you live.
Obviously, my motivation for going this route is to get around the ongoing battle of AT&T locking the bootloaders on all of their Samsung devices, and given that I've had my S4 for 2 years with no unlock in sight...I'm never ever willing to go through 2 years of having a locked bootloader again.
Check this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2962920 as the T-Mobile appears to have all the necessary bands needed for use on ATT.

It certainly doesn't have ALL the necessary bands, but you could argue that it has enough of them
T-Mobile
I have the T-mobile version and AT&T version of the Note 4. The T-mobile version works as good or the same compared to the at&t phone. The only issue i had was a few calls to at&t to stop them from seeing it as a blackberry. once that was fixed I've had zero issues whatsoever. Your mileage might vary depending upon what bands your area uses. If i had to do it again, i would most defiantly only buy the T-mobile version of the Note 4. My AT&T version is just a spare $852 paperweight sitting in the drawer due to the locked bootloader. Not to mention the T-Mobile version is $100 less on costs. Oh well i guess i have a spare screen just in case.
I would think the att version would be cheaper than T-Mobile because T-Mobile has unlocked bootloader. Why do you need unlocked boot loader? For Roms?

AT&T version is way more expensive on full price.
Unlocked bootloader for full root, kernel, twrp, rom support.

Ahh. No need to buy from carrier. Bought from another site and att let me add insurance on it. Plus note 5 around the corner so maybe wait and get tmobile one from carrier even cheaper
Maybe. I'm using square trade for warranty. It's $5 month with a deductible of only $75. But yup. I have AT&T version and T-Mobile phone. I bought both on payments.

I like square trade and would recommend it but it doesn't cover stolen/lost phones. And they always have a good deal like $100 for 2 year warranty.
Hey!
Release date is Friday if you're picking up. Who knows about shipping information.
32gb and 64gb only in black available for now.
Anyone else down for this device?

Did XDA not make a separate forum for the S6+?
Update: Ignore that question! Didn't realize this is not the S6E forum...
Will hold off for now... saw too many hands on and unboxing videos showing off the Titanium Silver and Platinum Gold models and the black just looks too boring to me... if I'm going to spend around $900 for a phone, it has to make me say wow I want this now, take my money. I'll wait to see how much expansys will ask for an unlocked model... Best Buy in the States currently sells unlocked S6 Edge phones so I guess it's just a matter of time before they get the gold Plus models as well. I've given up on silver... looks like it's only Asia that will get it for now and importing one through ebay is a headache and a risk if something goes wrong with it.
EDIT: Expansys is asking $1280CAD plus shipping and taxes which brings the unlocked 32GB S6 EDGE+ to almost $1500CAD... unless the Platinum Gold model they are selling is 24K gold they can shove it where the sun don't shine.

The Note 5 yes, but not necessarily anything else. That could be sooner or later than that. We'd know if Rogers actually updated their updates page EVER.
There is absolutely 0 (ZERO) difference between all the firmwares. They are exactly the same. All the carriers files are there and only your sim will trigger the related CSC install.
So you can install whichever.

No idea. I flashed Bell myself on my Rogers Edge+ without issue. Didn't even have to factory reset.
I canceled my unlocked pre order that i was going to use on my AT&T account when they told me end of May early June before it ships. I was wondering is the Verizon branded one fully functional out the box for att like a lot of their other phones are? If so just gonna go in and buy one for 648
I don't think it is. The T-Mobile one probably is, though.

It indeed is unlocked. I have access to a cricket sim. I put the sim in, the phone informed me that it wasn't a verizon sim. I cleared the message, entered the cricket apn and indeed it worked. I am able to place phone calls and surf the web. Signal is HSPA, so maybe the radios are different???

IT is sim unlocked, but you will be limited using it on GSM networks, some features will behave wonky, and it will be missing some bands. Buy an unlocked one.
As far as teh bootloader.........maybe soon

If it were stolen and "blacklisted", I doubt the device would be working fine.
Unless "blacklisted" is only effective for use in the USA, as Google suggests.
Google:
............... Blacklisted phones can’t be used in the United States, but some companies can unlock them for international use.

Mine is a Verizon phone purchased form UAE, it also shows blacklisted but it works just fine. I receive monthly updates without any problem, even adb sideloaded android pie full OTA when it got released. Main issue with mine is that I cannot unlock its bootloader so obviously can't root it but i believe you can unlock yours and root it.

If it's working and it says it's blacklisted, it's probably a U.S. only thing as Google suggests.
Clearly someone managed to get Google financing and stopped making payments. So no, you didn't buy a stolen phone. Anyway, the blacklist carriers use here in the United States is only effective if the phone itself is in the US. In your case, where you are in Pakistan, the device will work normally even though it's blacklisted.
For a period of time there was talk of every carrier worldwide using the same blacklist, which would really ruin your day. As of now, obviously nothing has come of it.
Generally a IMEI will only be blacklisted in the country it was reported stolen.
