Root Galaxy S20 Hong Kong version - Samsung Galaxy S20 / S20+ / S20 Ultra Questions &

I'm thinking of getting the HK version of the S20 because it comes with an unlockable BL and also has the superior SD processor.
Will the HK variant of the S20 be rootable? Do all the LTE bands work in the US?

You may want to check with Verizon/Sprint. I believe this is a CDMA/GSM USA phone.

S10+ Korean version 975N much cheaper, any thoughts?

Hi guys,
Here is my dilemma: I live in Vietnam and I can get the Korean S10+ 512GB for about $770 (vs. $990 for the international version).
The phone is SKT branded, but I guess there will be a way to flash the unbranded Korea firmware. Can anyone confirm it's possible?
Also, the Korean version can only take 1 SIM but if it is like the previous Galaxy S, the hardware should be there, it's purely a firmware limitation. How hard is it to install the international version firmware (F/DS) on the Korean version? If possible, will I still get OTA? Will I need to unlock the bootloader?
Thanks for your help!

I don't know that you could install the international firmware on the Korean device. I know the Canadian models (W) can flash the US (U/U1) versions. Id just get some confirmation before trying it as to not brick the device.

Hong Kong variant bootloaders are unlocked. Contacted Wandamobile based in Hong Kong a few days back and they claimed the SM-G9860 and SM-G9880 they offer are Hong Kong devices. The CSC on Hong Kong variants is TGY. Based on my research most retailers offering these models are actually selling the Taiwan variants, CSC BRI which is also bootloader unlocked. Some users have flashed TGY firmware on BRi devices with mixed results. I would recommend the Hong Kong variant but use due diligence with the retailers, they may not know or misrepresent what they actually stock. Stay away from the China variant, it not compatible with numerous apps.
I asked wondamobile - and they say galaxy s20& 20+ Hongkong version, bootloader is locked ?
anybody buy a galaxy s20 snapdragon from wondamobile in last time, which Hongkong firmware -and was positiv to unlock bootloader?
Mine is also from Wondamobile and it's unlocked. But it's a korean snapdragon model g988n!

Samsung s20+ change firmware from SM G986U1 to SM G986N (korean)

I want to flash a different region firmware (in this case korean) on my device, an s20 plus unlocked (with csc xaa). The reason is that I wish to unlock 5g band n78 that the us firmware of my device does not support. I know that I cannot flash a european exynos firmware, but the korean model SM g986n has the same soc (snapdragon 865) and is single sim. In another thread (https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/flashing-from-sm-g986n-to-sm-g986u1.4072579/) the owner of a Korean s20 plus attempted to do the opposite and supposedly failed, because its korean model lacked mmwave 5g antennas that the american model supports (albeit probably calibration on the chipset is different). So thit is my question: is the reverse operation possible? Do I risk to brick the phone because of hardware limitations? Do I have to unlock the bootloader to flash the korean firmware or samsung frp tool could do the trick? I am open to suggestions here, thank you in advance.
