I recently acquired a Kinpo iDo s601 and it comes with Windows Mobile 5, does anyone have any idea about how can I upgrade it for Windows Mobile 6? I've been searching for ROMS of that kind but I couldn't find anything adequate for this PPC. If anyone have any ideas I'd like to hear from you.

just like others, i got that phone today, and this is my first ppc phone, it seems quite interesting, and like someone can hack wm6.1 for us.

i found a tool for decompiling the official rom from china forum, ( http://www.inv.org/viewthread.php?tid=9865 ), and i put these stuff here, so someone interested in these phone can now cooked the rom they want.
after trying several times, i think the tools on the last post has some problems.
it can decompile the rom, but it can't recompile it, even you did much of moving the dump files, the recompile files has nothing change as the orginal one, no idea why and i need help from others.
still waiting someone to mod the above files, so we can make our own wm6 for s601.
just one more push for those who wanna be our GOD.

to intall the new rom:
1, put the eboot.bin and nk.bin on sd card
2, hold voice record+ right hand buttom
3, push reboot pin
4, the screen shows 3 icon , you first format your phone, and reboot, and you update your eboot.bin, and lastly you update your os.
5, then you can flash your phone successfully.

i had my acer e101 flash from sd card and i think i used flash bin not compatible with my unit. now all i got when i turn on the unit is acer logo flashing one thing, i noticed is that it is flashing to different logo size one is the right as it used to be and the other one i think is from the bin i've flash. i try to hard reset but its not working i also tried to used a diffrent custom rom loader for acer but all i got is up to downloading mode and it will hung up. im new here and i dont how i can fix this? i can just go into download mode but i think i cant go anywhre without the right rom loader/flasher for acer e101.

feeling awesome today!!! atlast i already fix my problem and i found recovery flasher for my acer e101. now its working fine i've freshly installed clean rom (OS_ACER_2.003.13.EN.01_WM65_E101) this is WM 6.5 PRO.

my friend first of all M2DC is not my work maybe what you are saying is you installed my cooked rom w/c has M2DC. now for your problem about going back to your previous rom obviously you cant do it via acvtive sync bec as you are saying you cant change a language this error come out bec the rom installed now (w/c is my cooked rom) is .13_EN, means that it is originated from english version purely no sub language w/c is in the case of the one you are trying to install that is .04_EN_IN. this is english with your sub language of your local language where the unit came from. now the solution is use the recovery via dowload mode. i have already posted for this and you can also dowload this here with step by step instruction. DIGG in and search everything you need. if you cant find it i'll post it again for you. thanks alot for trying my rom.

Please!!!somebody help me!!!please!!! my acer e 101 is in italian and a try to flash it with sd card updater and y touch by mistake the batery and now it wont recognize my sd card and when i try to use euu it gives me an erorr and it wont work any more now my phone is stuck an acer logo it works only on download mode but the euu wont work i try with the device manager when i try to update says that is already up to date please help me Please! you can read all the post here on how to recover your unit, if you know how to put your unit unto recovery via download mode there is a post here on how it works. search for it my friend.

what is your problem my friend pls elaborate more so that i can help you beacause right now my acer e101 is not with me anymore i've given it to my wife but i still do remember how to make it works.
my friend i am very sorry because i lost all of my files for acer e101 and i not using the unit anymore. you can ask somebody here to help you to upload again what they have donwloade previuosly.

what do you mean by remove the 3 button, those are in the rom's user interface of acer. how do you want your home menu to look like?
hello ! after a week of testing ive finally found a solution for samsung galaxy s4 clone ( mt6572 gt-i9500 ). with no service !
Soo , you have no service and can't make calls ! follow this instructions and you will be talking on your phone in no time
Its very simple : ( i'll add the necessary links / software for this job )
1. you need SP_Flash_Tool_exe_v3.1316.0.150
2. you need the WORKING ROM ! modified by me
3. you need MtkDroidTools
( this version is allready modified to work with mt6572 )
The procedure :
we must first format the phone using SP_Flash_Tool_exe_v3.1316.0.150 . soo we open the program and select the scatter file.txt atached in the rom . hit format and then hit OK.
Now remove the battery and connect the usb cable to the phone. it will start formatting the phone. wait till is ready ( you will see a green circle )
At this point , the phone is ready to receive the new ROM
you have allready selected the scatter file early'r .
THIS STEP IS VERY IMPORTANT !!! uncheck the CACHE and USRDATA at the bottom.
Now hit Download button , you will get a warning message, just press YES
Now put the baterry back into the phone, and connect the usb cable. wait till the process end's and when you see the green circle you can disconect the phone, remove the battery, insert back the battery and power on the phone , and voila !! your phone have working network !!
Next step is to write the IMEI...
Use MtkDroidTools ( you must have debugging mode on in the phone ) connect the phone to the usb cable, wait till MtkDroidTools see your phone , and then hit the big imei button. There you must provide the imei number ( you can find it under the battery ) after that you hit write imei and then reset your phone and you are good to go
I presume that you allready have the usb drivers ( if not, i can also provide them )

Thanks for this tut, @pacattosul its very easy to follow, unlike some I've come accross, could I ask this?, will this not work by just using Mtkdroid tools as in the latter part of your tutorial? without the need of flashing a new rom?
Also I hope you dont mind a bit of constructive criticism, the developer of Mtkdroid tools @rua1 has specifically asked that his program is not placed on other sites for download, perhaps you could just change your post to link to his thread, here..... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2160490 Plus I do feel you are rather inviting problems by not specifying the details and build of your device that you have tested this method on, I don't have this phone but I'm sure there are quite a few different versions out there and the result of flashing the wrong preloader for your device can be a $200 paperweight, as I'm sure you know, and with that in mind I would stress that before embarking on this, a full backup is desirable in case it all goes t*ts up. Hope you don't mind my mentioning this stuff, if you decide to make those few minor changes, I'll edit and delete this paragraph, don't want to spoil your thread.

i really don't mind that you point my mistakes... im actually happy cause as you say, MTKtools its somebody's work and should really be apreciated. BUT, this tutorial only work's with this special version of MTKtools !! i'm not responsable if you use any other tools/versions !!
you say that people may broke 200$ phone if they flash this rom... ok it may happend, but only if they mistake the model-version of the phone ! like ive say'd this tutorial and the rom only goes for MT6572 GT-I9500 SAMSUNG GALAXY S4 CLONE !! if they flash this rom on other devices they are responsible for what they do...
Actually , this rom goes for dead phones as well ( as i mentioned on other site ) , so i supose that most of the people , when they reach this tutorial, its for a good known reason
You also ask me if you can only use the mtktools... well you can easylly use that program, but you will probably not change anything inside that phone. most of the people try'd mtktool and complain that the imei remains null or empty after writing with this tool... soo in order to fix the annoyng NO SERVICE problem, i recommend that you follow the entire tutorial

be aware !! you have the dual sim ( 2 sim ) phone or single sim?? this only works for single sim phone... also, you must not try to flash this on dual sim phone !!
try this... go to settings and at the network tab change the connection mode... chose hspda preffered... that may do the trick !

I think i found the problem , nothing to do with ROM i assume, it was all about IMEI, the IMEI given (as well as printed on device) seems invalid!!

the phone is good but i have 4 problems
1-the camera is not working at all .
2-the google market is installed but cant be accessed and cant login to my account in google always says (cant communicate with google site))
3-after calls from sim1 it says mmi code cancelled and so ,call cost cant be seen .
4-apps cant be moved to sd.
so please help me solve these problems .

i own HTC desire 816w chinese version...
few problems i face after using it for quite some time which are
1. thouh phone memory shows 5.7gb available i cant copy files and game data into it.. not even install new apps
2. its HTC 5.5 and i want to install ROM with HTC sense 6
3. the boot menu is in chinese language and all the websites explaing about rooting this device is in chinese :crying:
i believe this forum has enough expertise regarding my problems..

on elixir 2 app.. it shows this details as in image... i dont know wheather bootloader is unlocked or rom is custom as there is no details of rom either...
on vol down + power key there is no fast boot menu .. instead there is smthing in chinese
on vol up + power key its shows options to update from sd card or wipe cache etc etc...
i am confused...

i purchased my phone from China, thinking that it's an ariginal one , but i faced lot of trouble when i tried to flash the rom, so after investigation i found that the phone is clone
the brand is HDC not HTC, you can check by some apk soft that the CPU is MTK 6582,
the problem is when i sent my IMEI to HTC they didnt confirm that the phone is fake !!!

i purchased it from e bay. i dont think its a duplicate of htc.. it's just a chineese version designed for their nationals.. yesterday i ran into more trouble. i mistakenly dleted the polaris office suite application and videos application which are system applications. and after restart the phone is not booting up.. it's stuck at the htc logo.. what can i do now..? can u give ur e mail address so that i can em ail you privately..

so I'll post photos of the two motherboard when I get time

So you mean to say its a clone version...bt anyway how to unlock boot and how to root...and how to put htc sense in it... i dont mind the hardware untill i can do all the stuff...
I searched internet a lot of times but all rooting procedures are in chinese and requires unlocking bootloader... i dont how to reach that hboot menu or fast boot menu ir how to turn s off...
