It's been several days since a lot of Google apps, and others will not update. It'll download 99% then stop.
I thought it was because I was on the January update, so I flashed the March image and still have this issue.
Anyone else having this problem?

Then try clearing play services cache & data.
That didn't work either.
Was on support chat and in doing what was instructed, the screen went almost black; with the brightness turned all the way up. Rebooted but couldn't reconnect to support. So I reset.

Similar issue here. You're not alone. Tried updating each app one at a time?
Auto-update got some issues that need to be fixed in the BETA build. Let's wait for it.

Yah .. tried but issue is still there ..
Have you made sure to clear app data and cache as well as force stopping the app? That works for me.
Everything works fine on nougat and no issues with downloading on browsers, except that play store stopped installing apps, it keeps saying downloading but never starts the download...
Any help would be much appreciated....

It's working fine for me now. I didn't removed my G account.
Same problem here. clearing cache, relinking gaccount doesn't help. Interestingly he was able to download all apps from backup, however updating one app does not work (android system webview). error 492

it was a bug in nougat! so I doubt it will work. No temporary solutions work. some say turning on battery saver let's them download. keep trying if u get any fix. Or else u have to have a WiFi network to download the apps from play store !

Not sure if this is Z Play specific, but I'm running Android 7.0, with the 1st April patch
I've not used WiFi for a while, so I've got 37 updates for apps. Whenever I update, the first app gets to 100% downloaded but then just stays there. A reboot might let me update 1 app, but then the problem returns.
Any ideas?

Go to your Apps section, see the System Apps, then clear all Data on the Play Store and try again.
Clear playstore data and try.
If that doesn't work then hard reset is the last option.

I would first do the update to android 7.1.1. For me this fixed many bugs. And you get 06/2017 security patch with over 100 bug fixes. Just check, maybe the update is there.
Google pay is no longer working for me on DP3. Not sure what happened. I've never unlocked the bootloader once on this phone. I didn't even check the option to allow bootloader unlock. But I have run ADB commands for navigation gestures. So today I decided to just factory reset and try to get Google pay working again...right after reset I still get the same error. I'm lost now. Factory reset should have also reset any ADB commands I ran...if those were the issue. I also ran a safety net check and failed. Mind boggling. Anyone know what's up?
Pictures attached.
Happened to me yesterday after factory resetting DP3. Just clear Data and Cache on Google Play Services and Google Play Store, reboot and make sure your device is shown as "Certified" in Play Store settings. Safetynet should pass and Google Pay work normally

It's so nice to have Google pay at my side again ?
Lol
I tried this, but when I checked if it was certified, there wasn't anything there. It just ended with the Play Store version.
Also, after I did a factory reset, I have to re-verify they cards. Why??

Just give it a few minutes. Check the certification status later and you should see where it says Certified once again. You shouldn't have to reset again.

I will check in a few hours to see...
If I had already verified my debit card with my bank, why would I need to re-verify the card since I did a factory reset???

Security. It's better to be too secure than not secure enough.

Thanks a million!! I decided to do a wipe of DP3 and was stuck with this nagging issue for the past few days.
I ended rolling back and forth, wiping, formating...you name it, I've done it all and all a long this simple fix resolved the issue :victory:

According to topjohnwu (Mr. Magisk) and Nathan Chance (Mr. Flash) there is nothing you can do until google fixes it on DP5.

Hi,
since abut 3 or 4 weeks I've more and more problems with my Z2. I'm on stock 8.0.0, not branded, pure Moto. One of my problems is, that Play Store updates get downloaded but then do not install. When I reboot my phone the app update which got previously downloaded installs and the the process got stuck again. Some time suddenly two or tree apps get updated. The the problem starts over. I've tried every thing I've found e.g. clearing Play caches etc. nothing helped.
Edit: a closer look showed that the download hangs at the last few bytes but some times it downloads to 100% but just does not install.
Any suggestions?
TIA

Try stopping the play services and store app, clear data and cache, then try again. If that doesn't see if the issue is with wifi or data, switch one or the other off then try updating or installing an app, see if the problem is connection specific. You can also try clearing the phone cache from storage as well. I know these are trivial suggestions, but it never hurts to double check. Might clear your storage cache and check the permissions as well.

Thanks. Tried all this already. May be it's liked to my WiFi problem as it seems to be "better" now. If the problem persists I think I will try to factory reset it ...
