Red Tint on main camera photos in bright sunlight. - Samsung Galaxy S20 / S20+ / S20 Ultra Questions &

Hi folks, had my S20U since Tuesday and been taking some photos recently and noticed in direct sunlight there some weird red hue/tint at the top of my photos using the main camera, paticularly the top left.
Is anyone experiencing this?
Photos attached.
Wondering if I have a faulty module.
Thanks!

Thanks for highlighting this - seems like quite a few are having this issue. I'll have to exchange it.

I'm not sure if this is a hardware problem or just software side.. Try turning of scene optimizer, Bixby, and HDR and take the same picture if possible.

I already have tried that and the same issue remains so it definitely seems hardware related. It's only in very bright/sunlit scenes however.

Yea, same with me. Could be still a software related bug or something. I'll wait for an update or a statement from Samsung. If they cant fix it, it's definetly a hardware related problem and I'll return it and get another device / money back.

Try to shoot 2 pics in bright sunlight. One in normal mode and the other one with 108 megapixels.
Since these are different sensors, maybe the issue only appears with the normal sensor.

Can see that the defect is in the normal mode photo, not the 108mp one. It's also not present in ultra wide, either.
Have you tried replicating also?

Try again, but make sure your fingers are nowhere near the camera. One of my old phones did this and it was my finger being too close to the camera that introduced a red-ish hue to photos in sunlight.

Yep, same goes for me. No red tint on the 108 mp photo, but on the other ones.

Hi, did the new update solve your problem? You liked my post about the red tint on the german Samsung forum so you saw that the update solve the problem on my side, I hope the same goes for you.

Hi mate, I'm still waiting for the update to come through in Australia so hopefully that fixes the issue. When I went into the Samsung store they just said that I should wait for an update as there's noting that they could do. Glad it sorted the problem on your side, will report back when I get the update!

HTC One X Camera fault

Hi all,
first post here. I've been sucking info from this site for the past year so thank you all for all your helpful info.
I have just bought a HTC one x from a friend with a faulty camera. I was wondering if anyone has come across this fault before. when using the main camera. the screen goes green like it's crashed. all messed up. I don't think it is a hardware fault but then I haven't read this fault anywhere yet.
Yep well known issue.
Its mainly when flash is on right?
This isn't hardware I don't think mate, it is a software bug.

You mean like a disorted Display ?
Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium
No, what he means is the whole screen is green, can't see anything, which basically means the camera crashed and is either undetectable or damaged, or a kernel problem
Sent from my faster than SGS3 HOX.
yeah..i also have this pb..when I make a photo with flash everything is green..also after I make the photo also the green thing is on the screen(while I 'm in camera)...
how can i fix this pb?

Yes thats what i mean. Cant see or do anything. green crashed screen. ive flashed it back to stock and its still the same so im guessing it is damaged camera. painful as camera is on main board to cant really replace it or fix it in any way.
Has anyone else come across this problem? I'm debating weather to just sell it on ebay to recoup some of my money. its definitely not the same issue as the green kind of filter that occurs quite a lot with the camera. I posted it as i couldn't find any posts anywhere about this issue.
it s related to KERNEL.. on ICS is find..so it's a software pb.

Hey this Thread is a bit old, but maybe you're having the same problem I am:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=41063671#post41063671
See if it's similar.
If it is, I replaced camera, nothing, flashed rom, nothing, not sure if hardware or software yet, but i changed HBOOT and Flashed ARHD 21.0, and NOTHING happens.. still green :\

rear camera off center

I just got a G3 and the rear camera isn't centered. I can't tell if it is affecting ois or not. I'm thinking of returning it for a replacement. Anyone else have this issue?

[Q] Primary Camera flash greenish tint problem

Hey,
I just purchased a HTC Desire 820 dual sim about 3 days back, and on clicking pictures with flash on from the primary 13MP camera, an evident greenish tint is noticed.
Is anyone else having the same problem, or should I opt for replacement? Is it a hardware or software problem?
Attaching samples.
Please help ASAP. Thanks!
same problem here with me
I have exactly the same problem, however i requested the new replacement model from the retail online site. It's a software glitch, because playing with the setting like using florescent option it solves, so it is complete software issue, but in a replacement warranty scenario i am asking for the replacement, lets c what happens next..

I have opted for a replacement myself, but I doubt that will solve the problem. It is not a small issue, I don't know if I should persist with the device. Will HTC rectify it? Was it there before the software update too?
Urgent!
Guys please test on your own devices and post the results.
Do surely tell us

Dear when getting phone, do first is take picture firing flash and see whether the problem remains, do not update the phone, do it before updating the phone, and do tell us here. My new replacement phone is on the way, whenever i will get it.. i will surely share the experience..

Received the replacement unit, issue still exists. It is a problem with the device itself I feel.
Same greenish tint issue
Guys,
This might sound funny to you that i first purchased this device on 25th Jan 2015 and there were no greenish tint issues in that phone but it was automatically rebooting itself when i tried to click pics with the FLASH ON. This didn't happen when I purchased the device, happened at a later stage (after a day). So I went up to HTC and asked for the repair of the device (I knew i'll get the DOA bcoz it was a faulty piece) and I got the DOA after they tested it.
Got the replacement and I'm seeing this issue on my phone. Searched around the forum to find out that I'm not the only one facing this issue.
I first thought that it would be a hardware issue but its not guys, its a software issue. Change the settings to "Flourescent" and the greenish tint disappears, though you'll see a light blue effect on it.
Lets just hope HTC releases an update for this.

Not software, hardware. It was there on my unit even before the software update. It's there only on a specific batch I guess. I returned it. Can't tolerate the faulty piece.

Okay, As I suspected that it would be a SOFTWARE ISSUE and NOT a hardware issue was TRUE.
Today I went to the HTC Repair Center and opted for the issue to get fixed. One of its representatives pointed it to be software issue.
They took my phone and FIXED it and now the camera works perfectly fine with FLASH ON.
Hope this helps other guys out there.

Camera not focusing

Hey,
Anyone had or got issues with the rear camera not focusing?
It takes ages to focus and I mean 3+ minutes.
It won't do it when I tap on the screen either.
Using OOS or a custom rom?
I have the same issue also. Apparently it's a known hardware issue Contact OP for RMA
I'm using FreedomOS
i have the same issue OOS latest Beta.
Install the latest OOS stable and if it doesn't work, contact Oneplus and explain the problem. If it's a hardware problem they have to fix it (if you still have warranty).
****, I just noticed my camera has problems to start focusing. The whole picture strangely waves durning focusing. But it will focus after a couple of seconds.
I had this problem, and it nearly drove me to getting a new phone. It followed me through OS updates and many different ROMs. Not much help on the threads here, either.
My problem was that the camera would constantly try to refocus, and would never focus on the foreground...things in the background were clear, but nothing in the foreground. Videos were horrible, constant refocusing and blurring. Didn't work in 3rd party apps like check deposit on my bank app, Snapchat, etc.
I found a YouTube video of a hardware repair that seemed ridiculous, but it actually fixed the issue for me. It's not too hard to do if you don't want to wait for an RMA from OnePlus...but it literally involved sticking a staple between a magnet in the phone and the camera module. If you don't feel comfortable opening your phone up, I wouldn't attempt it, but my camera has been working perfect since I did this redneck fix.
here's a link to the video. Watch it first before trying, and if it seems like it's too much, you may have to do an RMA.
I didn't want to believe it was a hardware issues either, but this honestly did fix it for me.
Good luck!
Has anyone else tried @Redjax workaround. I'm going crazy. My camera focus problems are getting worse.
Also, has anyone of you tried a camera replacement. If so, which one, share the link.
I'm thinking on trying the staple mod first before ordering a replacement.

I was facing the same issue from couple of months. It started after a system update, don't remember the version tough.
So visited the service center today, the people there already had info about this issue. They replaced the camera module free of cost, even after my phone warranty is over! OnePlus knew the problem and they are fixing it for free.
I got my OP3 serviced at Pune, India.

A black shadow on rear camera, does anyone else facing this ???

Black shadow on every camera mode ??
Either damage to the sensor or, more likely, a piece of dust beneath the glass. Definitely not a software issue.

Like like a hardware issue. Something similar happened to me on my Xperia zl, it was a known defect in that model. I think you should get it replaced if you are under warranty.
