I just got my S20 and coming from a Pixel there is a lot of useless crap on it BUT I am all new to debloating. I followed a guide and installed ADB/Fastboot, enabled debugging etc. and I am ready to remove stuff but it might be a bit too risky for a newbie... As I understand it there are several packages related to one app so a list for S20 would be great but I can't find one... As an alternative, I read about Package Disabler Pro and CCSWE App Manager. Are those app's any good and will they work with S20?
I am using CCSWE without issues. Easy and secure ?

It's an app that allows you to disable or uninstall any applications and packages from the phone. It is essentially ADB functionality packed in an app. But be careful with what you do (you can also uninstall system related stuff).
But in the end you can't do anything harmful to your phone as a factory reset will set everything to stock again (root is not needed) so it is pretty newcomer or noob friendly. Just search for CCSWE App Manager (Samsung) in the Google Play Store.
I played arround with CCSWE and it is easy to disable app's that can't be disabled in the system. But I can't uninstall anything (as with ADB commands), tried uninstalling AR Zone through CCSWE and got "System applications cannot be uninstalled). So I guess if you want them out of the system you need t go with ADB...
Anyone have lastest samsung pro apk, its blue i believe i have liscence but lost APK

I'm a bit confused about how to avoid problems after unrooting and trying to do an OTA update.
Is it ok to uninstall ANY preinstalled apps? I understand the dangers of uninstalling system apps after rooting....but is it ok to uninstall other bloatware like TripAdvisor and games which come with their own uninstaller and can be uninstalled even without rooting?

The general rule (which I learned the hard way) is to freeze system apps instead of uninstalling them. That way if you get any force close errors or problems you can unfreeze them right away. For example, uninstalling WhatsNext caused my camera to stop working properly.

Yeah, I uninstalled TripAdvisor and Omlet Chat and Dr Virus (or whatever), etc as soon as I turned on the device. Anything included app that allows to to uninstall it normally through the launcher can be uninstalled safely.

Well, my phone is rooted and has xposed installed, so I haven't tried installing an OTA update yet. Too lazy to unroot and uninstall xposed. I think I'm going to wait for a few more updates to roll by and then do them all at once.

A debloater for OnePlus 5 (really any OxygenOS, but I only have OP5 now). Allows for removal of a lot of pre-installed apps. All apps are user selected. Can trim down and remove unused apps.
Hi,
I tried it with new OOS 4.57 and did not delete any Gapp
For system apps related to Oneplus like logskit and so on, it was ok and working like a charm.

Interesting comment as my long time debloat app System app remover (ROOT) wasn't able to remove Gapps apps (Google Music, Google Movie/TV) either. I'm trying to make /system room for installing V4ARISE but after this latest OTA there is not enough /system space left.
In fact that's why I'm looking at this debloat method. I wonder if the issue you observed is why the app I'd previously used no longer works. Unless I find something better I'll likely try Titanium Backup's uninstall method but I was looking for a way to batch clean up which I suspect would need to get done after every OTA.
EDIT: Using Titanium Backup to backup then uninstall worked. I removed Duo (~20Mg) to recovery the space I needed.

Today, I tried deeper aroma script and I can uninstall every bloatware less Gapps (Chrome, Gmail,...)
Hello friends,
I'm in trouble with pre-installed bloatware on my Moto Z2 Force.
I hate these programs which fighting with my battery but can't uninstall them:
Vociemail
CallerID
MobileID
CarrierHub
What I've tried,
Uninstall them by ADB (I got Failure error)
Uninstall by ES File Manager or System Uninstaller programs (Magisk Rooted)
Uninstall by deleting via TWRP
Z2 Debloader program on forum
I love phone but these programs are defecting my battery, they work always and getting me angry. Please help me, any helps appreciated. Thank you all folks.
EDIT: I solved problem with Freezing all annoying apps via Titanium Backup Pro and Magisk root. Thanks everyone. No luck with any other advices.

Not an expert but if you have premium version of Titanium Backup just freeze them through it ( Myself did that)
Hello friend thanks for your advice. I was thinking about paying it, which root do you use? I can only install magisk 16.0
Boot into twrp and remove oem. I did the same and now not a single bloatware.

Thank you friend I tried it but nothing changes. But I now bought Titanium Backup Pro and installed Magisk Root, I can be able to Freeze all annoying Sprint services. Thanks everyone.
Does anyone know of any method to delete OEM apps? in sprint rom you can not delete OEM, because you lose all sprint functions ... no? I have tried to delete the apps, delete OEM completely and always stay there. You can install the firmware without OEM but sprint does not work ..
Would you believe I still need help with this same thing in 2022? Found myself back in my moto z2 force. Guess it's time to actually buy mods. Does anyone understand why system app uninstalls are so hard? I flashed att not sprint, I'm in a similar situation to the OP. For the most part I can use a debloater magisk module from Fox's Mmm, but that's similar to titanium as far as them not actually being gone. There are even more apps that debloater can't see for some reason.
Based on the title itself, what are the list of apps/packages that you guys removed (or can be removed) to debloat Mi A2 Lite?
Theres not that much bloatware in the device. And I think removing a system app will break OTA updates.
Uuuhhh. Welcome to my world. I don't like being tracked all the time by the countless sensors a modern smartphone has. Privacy is utterly important for me (and should be for everyone, but I'm not here to discuss this haha). Also, I hate making it easy to the multimillionaire companies profiting from selling and playing with your privacy. That's why I can't wait for the custom ROMs to start showing.
So, for now I disabled ALL google and all xiaomi apps. All of them except the "phone", "clock" and "carrier services" apps (the first 2 are too delicate for me and I didn't find a trustworthy alternative and I have no idea what the 3rd does, but seems important haha). Everything else, gone. Even "feedback", "PAI" and "Spock". And, of course, I don't have a google account linked to the device.
On the first boot, the phone connects to the internet and downloads a few other Google and Xiaomi apps. I prevented it to do so, so I wouldn't have to disable too many apps. I disabled google play services, play store and device setup (among the other ones) before connecting to internet.
Everything works fine in my phone (only one issue. Some apps rely on google services to show the map image. The image doesn't work while google services are disabled. But you can always enable it if you wanna use it).
Let me know if you have any question of any app/service/whatever you want to disable. I can share the alternative apps I use for the disable Google ones. I must say that most of them work even better.

You can uninstall non wanted stuff with the help of ADB without the need of rooting your phone. It doesn't get uninstalled for real, but hidden for the main user profile. Those apps can't run but OTA isn't a problem.

You can remove carrier services if you removed Google Messages aswell.
"In a nutshell, the Carrier Services app is intended to allow your smart phone to take full advantage of a technology called Rich Communications Services, or RCS.
RCS allows for extra features in the Android Messaging app. The thing is most carriers have their own methods of supporting RCS in place so Google’s app is often redundant."

I can confirm, touching ANYTHING on system partition (eg. hosts file) will cause OTA issues. Everything should be done systemlessly.

Force-disabling a system app affects the system partition? Or it would only affect it if it's unisntalled?

Shouldn't be a problem. If you disable/freeze a system app with for example Titanium Backup and you restore the stock system partition via fastboot afterwards, the disabled app is still disabled. So the conclusion should be that those changes to the app aren't touching the system partition at all and are stored to the data partition instead.
Don't hit me if this isn't the case.
Hi everyone ,Before realize debloat system app like Google maps , youtube, etc will be a problem to apply new OTA , i uninstall some ones with "3C toolbox" making backup before , after that i restore the backups.
The question is , i am ok for apply future OTAs?.
Thanks.

Probably restoring backups of uninstalled apps isn't enough to be OTA ready, better just disable/freeze system stuff. You won't get free space fo to use after uninstalling anyways.

Then use zarchiver to remove the apk from my Debloater.
Then reinstall it.

To rebloat:

You don't need even root to debloat. It can be done by running an elevated command and disabling the applications.
I've been using Package Disabler for years.
Very valuable for troubleshooting. It can also completely clear system app data that you can't normally completely delete in app settings.

Yes.
This can be done quite easily but it can be a long and difficult process for less experienced users.
Firstly you need to make a list of which apps can be safely deleted (I found 72)
Then spend an hour or more deleting them manually.

The problem with doing that is there are some apps you'll want to be able to toggle on/off easily on the fly.
Most don't even know exactly what all they're disabling... what could go wrong?
