Hello,
I'm using Samsung S20 Ultra. I noticed that sim card management opens after each reboot.
Just using one Simcard and a micro sd card. No eSIM.
Is it normal?
Never noticed that behavior before on my former devices, only once during initial setup.
Thanks
Same with my S20 Ultra
I confirm same happens with mine. Does anyone have a solution for this??
It doesn't happen on mine (regular SIM, no SD card). Is yours a dual-SIM variant?
it also happens with my s20+ 5G. It is dual sim (i only use one) but it does that even if i try without the sim. Someone can explain how to disable that?
Happens on my S20+ 4G DualSim too. Super annoying.
Same here, S20 Ultra, SM-G988B/DS.
1 Sim inserted, no micro SD, no esim.
Ill reboot only after updates so no problem for me
same here but i understand is normal with the esims = as the app is trying to restart services albeit there's no esim in use
Hi!
The solution is in samsung forums https://eu.community.samsung.com/t5/Galaxy-S20-S20-S20-Ultra/S20-ultra-sim-manager-comes-on-at-startup/m-p/1612501#M2338

Simply pressing ok when the sim card manger pops up is much faster and less cumbersome than this "workaround" [emoji1787]

So I decided to buy a G4.
I know about the boot loop issue, but LG fixes it if it happens, so that's okay.
My Samsung devices all had issues (multiple), so yeah.
Anyway, I have a couple of simple questions regarding the dual sim edition.
They cost the same in the country, so I figured I might buy the dual sim one...but...
- Does it have the same, latest (MM) firmware?
- Do you get any annoying notification if you just use ONE sim card in it?
- Does it still have a microSD card slot besides the dual SIM slot?
The thing is, MNOs are becoming popular in my country.
So you can finally get cheap mobile internet, but on a separate sim card, of course.
This way I could just toss in a second SIM once I get a good deal, and hook my mobile data on that.
Thank you guys!

1. Yes it has lastest marshamallow.same as single sim variant.
2. 2nd sim will show message as "service disabled" if you disable 2nd sim
3. yes it has micro sd card.but it doesn't support wireless charging.
Hey guys,
did anyone tried to use 2 simcards and sdcard with the new 2017 A series phones? with the sim card cut and glued to sdcard method?
I tried it, but for some reasons the phone doesn't see the sim card glued to the sdcard. I tried the sim in another phone ( normal microsim slot ), and it works.
I was thinking, maybe Samsung disabled this feature from firmware... curios if anyone got it working.
Thanks.
did anyone tried?
sorry to bump an old thread - i have a 2017 A3 and have the same inquiry. did anyone try this and succeed ?

I think i read somwhere that the sim might be pushing the sd card away of the pins. Maybe adding tape over the top of the sd might resolve it.

I've tried nano sim card adapter/extender and it's work just fine. You can buy one of them at aliexpress.com :fingers-crossed:
it works

I can confirm that it works! both, the 2 sims and the sd-card are working flawlessly!
The whole process might appear a bit risky but in my case it was absolutely easy and the result is great!
I´m using an SAMSUNG 64gb sd-card - i only sanded off the small upstand at the end of the card by using an nail-file.
For getting the chip out of the sim, a simple hair-dryer with approx. 60°-80°C worked!
I live in Europe and thinking about getting the G8s (we only have this version). Did anyone try to use the dual sim+sd card hack that you have on samsung phone? Cut a sim, polish it down and glue it to the bottom of an SD card. Then you can use two sims and and sd card simultaneously. One can also use a sim extender to achieve the same result.
Samsung implemented a software block on this since android pie, not sure if LG has the same.
Thanks in advance!
edit: it does work. Just tried on a phone.
Please post instructions so I may try this....
could you let me know how you got the DUAL SIM to work? what settings/software/app's you had to use? I'd like to make it work thru factory software if possible
THANKS,
MS

Never seen a samsung phone with space for an sdcard and two sims, just with a sim + sim/sdcard slot. But some have managed to fit a sim and sdcard into one slot by shaving the sim card really thin.

It really depends on region and which ones your region decides to bring in. For me I'm in malaysia, went to sirim website to check on the certification and all 3 s20 in malaysia has esim as sim1, a single sim slot for sim2 and a dedicated sdcard slot.

Hi, yes the phone will take 2 Sims. However if you want SD card in, you will need an esim from your provider. The SD card takes up a sim slot. I have mine from EE, 1 sim, an esim and SD card. Look in SIM card manager and it should show option of adding an esim. Which provider are you with?

When you mentioned that you inserted 2 sim, did you remove the sdcard? Or did you use an adapter to enable 2 sim cards and sdcard to function in the phone? If you are using the adapter, or the mod (heating up a simcard, remove the metal chip from simcard, file the microsd card slightly and stick the metal chip of the sim card on the micro sd card), samsung has blocked that since Android 9 with one ui.
For me, i use 1 esim, 1 simcard and 1 microsd card. Works just fine.
Edit: just googled SM-G986B/DS doesn't seem to have esim support. So it's either 2 simcards or 1 simcard and 1 microsd card.

Am with three and ee problem is I can't get through to customer services to get the esim and ive tried online and they say that some of my details are missing (on contract with three and pay as you go on ee)
I have now managed to activate my ee sim just was expecting it to be instantaneous but it took a couple of mins
I've got truephone for data which is o2 and Vodafone at moment until I can get a e sim ...
Question if you use normal sim and esim will they both do 5g ??

it's possible to do through online acct.just check exactly what your ordering as can be a bit misleading, or just go on the chat. Usually takes about 2 days to come through.
