Hi, yes the phone will take 2 Sims. However if you want SD card in, you will need an esim from your provider. The SD card takes up a sim slot. I have mine from EE, 1 sim, an esim and SD card. Look in SIM card manager and it should show option of adding an esim. Which provider are you with?

When you mentioned that you inserted 2 sim, did you remove the sdcard? Or did you use an adapter to enable 2 sim cards and sdcard to function in the phone? If you are using the adapter, or the mod (heating up a simcard, remove the metal chip from simcard, file the microsd card slightly and stick the metal chip of the sim card on the micro sd card), samsung has blocked that since Android 9 with one ui.
For me, i use 1 esim, 1 simcard and 1 microsd card. Works just fine.
Edit: just googled SM-G986B/DS doesn't seem to have esim support. So it's either 2 simcards or 1 simcard and 1 microsd card.

Am with three and ee problem is I can't get through to customer services to get the esim and ive tried online and they say that some of my details are missing (on contract with three and pay as you go on ee)
I have now managed to activate my ee sim just was expecting it to be instantaneous but it took a couple of mins
I've got truephone for data which is o2 and Vodafone at moment until I can get a e sim ...

it's possible to do through online acct.just check exactly what your ordering as can be a bit misleading, or just go on the chat. Usually takes about 2 days to come through.

Probably so. I don't see why it wouldn't take it. A SIM unlock allows you to insert any carrier's SIM card for use on a GSM network.
When did you get the tilt?
I have been using my unlocked tilt2 with a go phone sim card for the past 6 months. Does the SIM card work with other phones? If not, maybe bad SIM card. If so, not sure what is up..
Try a new SIM card see if that works. I know if you bought the gophone in a kit you know one of the boxed ones in the electronics department the sims in the those phones are locked for 6 months i believe get a new SIM card activate it and your good to go if its an At&t tilt2 you shouldnt even need the device unlocked just from my experience and reading other fourms.. Hope this helps you or someone else
Hello there,
has anyone got a note ii with vodafone micro sim card running fine?
I have inserted several micro sim cards from vodafone, including at two vodafone stores, sadly non of them get recognised. Could my note ii be faulty?
I need to know this so that I can return it to Handtec UK.
Thanks for the heads up.

It is very strange because I have a pay as you go vodafone micro sim card that works just fine, as does a t-mobile micro sim from my s 3.
The trouble is with the contract micro sent to me, as well as the ones I tried today.
Also, when you look at the chips on the micro sims, the t-mobile as well as the vodafone pay as you go micro sims are longer than the chips on the others. When voda sent the micro to me, it read iPhone/iPad. The assistants in the voda stores claim the micro sim is said to be for iPad/iPhone, but should work in any phone designed to take micro sim cards.
I got mine from Vodafone as upgrade. It comes with a micro sim. It has been working fine for me for the last 2 weeks.

I have tried O2, tmobile, gifgaff, and an Asian roaming sim card with mine and they all work. Are you saying the sim card from voda is not the same size as the one that works? Maybe they are NANO sim cards and the contacts dont line up with your Note 2. So they don't work. Or if they are for iphone, then they are for iphone, which is trying hard to monopolise the industry, but will NEVER happen! Phuck apple devices !!!!
Probably vodafone are giving me non cards, because as I said, their pay as you go has a longer chip. The trouble is that the guys in the stores can see this, but insist the "nano" should work?

They're giving you nano-sims?
Unless you're inserting them with an adapter I doubt they'll work as the note 2 is designed to take micro sims, not nano sims. Nano sims are a bit smaller.

I just don't know what is up with these sim cards. I was on chat with a voda customer rep. He will be sending out another sim card. I hope it works. I advised him to look at the lengths of the chip itself, and get to me one that equals the length of their PAYG micro sim cards.
I will let you know how I get on in three to five working days, which is when the sim might be with me.
I cut mine with scissors... I couldn't wait long enough to drive 5 miles to the nearest store haha

Actually it's funny because I've tried to insert nano simcard by a mistake and it actually works (DON'T THINK ABOUT DOING THIS). I hope it won't move while being inside or I'm screwed. It was already too late when I realized that nano sim card is different from micro sim. Guess I was too excited to try this phone out.
The screenshots were taken with SG Note 1 and I kept the resolution unchanged.
Don't ask me how did I do it, because I don't know it myself.

I also made calls with it and it's working just fine.

Yeah I'll have to buy an micro sim adapter for the peace of mind.
You can purchase micro sim cutters; or use one as a template. I've had no issues with my normal sim cut with scissors. Hell, I wonder why they decided to go the micro-sim root anyway. Complicates things.

I am currently using my micro sim from my iphone 4 on the note 2 and had no problems. I have been using the same sim on the day of the launch of note 2 and it's been fine.
Could the moderators please close this thread?
My issue has been resolved. The micro sim card tray was faulty.
I posted my phone back to Handtec on Wednesday. They received it yesterday, and I have received a new replacement today.
They are excellent for delivering quality in time. One day between the original order and delivery, one day between return/warranty and replacement.
If they could do it in one day, they would.
any way to use 2 sims with micro sd card ?
From my understanding not on newer Samsung dual SIM phones.
You might be able to use one SIM and the e-SIM.
You can use eSIM plus nanoSIM on s20 ultra and that will leave the microSD available. A guy on you tube showing the eSIM setup details sort of confirmed this.
I will update when I get an Ultra.
But that seems to be one of the biggest features on s20 Ultra this eSIM support and microSD with two numbers
From what I've read it may depend on the carrier software/CSC, as to whether you can use another SIM card along with the eSIM? But I can't see anything confirming that so far besides user posts at some places which seem to be more speculation than anything.
All that I can confirm for sure is, that it is possible. My carrier (Telstra, Australia) offered me both a standard SIM or eSIM when ordering, in which they said I could use another SIM freely along with the eSIM (eSIM is what I chose) I hope that's applicable for all.
They talked about this on the Samsung Forums. The international version has a hybrid slot allowing 2 nano Sims or one nano sim and MicroSD. In the US version one nano sim and MicroSD. If you use the ESim and nano sim only one can be used at a time not both. Like you can't be calling on one and texting on another. At same time.
The ability to use only one line at a time is not particular to the eSIM. My Note 8 has two nanoSIM cards and same limitation applies. When I talk on one of the cards the other is disconnected. Data comes only on one of the cards. Indeed only one has 4g connection.
I suppose s20 have similar limitations. I think this is limit as there is only one radio.
The gain is that both SIM are registered in the network and both can receive calls or be used to make calls at a given point of time but not simultaneously.
In my case both cards go to the same operator. One is from work the other is my personal number.
It works on the EU model SM-988B/DS
One nanoSIM + eSIM + MicroSD works.
I got my S20 Ultra last night and now have 256GB storage 128 built-in and 128GB SD card.
Now I have to figure if UHS-II benefits me or I stay with slow big cheap UHS-I card. Perhaps I will go to 400GB card.
Which Country CSC code supports both dual physical sims & E-Sim?
I have a F926B and ordered the dual sim tray on Ebay, but I need to change the firmware for it to work.

Yes. I am using Single SIM + E-SIM, but i can see double-sided connectors in the sim slot which means it can also support duel physical sims. I have the dual sim tray from the UK, but the other physical sim does not register on my MXO (Mexico) Model.

As far as I know needs to have 2 IMEI numbers on the box. 2 IMEI numbers means it supports dual sim the EID is the E-SIM
You can look under settings - about phone. If it says IMEI (Slot 1) only and no IMEI (Slot 2) then your devices does not support 2 SIM. Just because it has connectors on both sides does not mean device itself supports it. Samsung may have used same type of SIM connector but hasn't given proper dual SIM support in rest of device such motherboard and OS.
Shame on me ... I needed to read that thread here to understand, that my Z Fold 3 is capable to house two SIM cards. When I got my ZF3 a week ago, I was disappointed, that only one physical SIM slot was available (compared with the Note10+) ... I did not realize, that there are two sides on the tray (SM-F926B). So, I'm using two SIM cards with no need to wait, until my providers support the eSIM.
RTFM, I know ...
Hi all,
I recently purchased a Galaxy S22 (SM-S901U1 - S901U1UEU2AVF7) from Google Fi with the intention of using 2 physical SIM cards and 1 eSIM on it.
On Samsung's website (https://www.samsung.com/global/galaxy/galaxy-s22/specs/) it says some models have "two Nano SIMs and one eSIM".
Upon receiving my S22, I took out the tray and noticed it could only fit one physical SIM card, however, looking at the sim card slot through a stereo microscope it looks like there are SIM card contacts on either side of the slot (meaning the physical connection is there).
Also, doing a `*#06#` shows IMEI1, IMEI2, and EID; which to me signifies the phone itself could support the "two Nano SIMs and one eSIM" option.
I went ahead and bought an S22 replacement SIM card tray with support for 2 SIM cards, and put another SIM card on it but can only see "SIM 1" and "eSIMs" under "SIM card manager".
It honestly looks like Samsung disables the second SIM card in software for the US market.
Can anyone here confirm my suspicion and if so, do you know if there is a way to change that software restriction? Thanks
The second IMEI is specifically for the eSIM, the EID is what one would consider the ICCID if it was a physical SIM.
Only models outside the US have the option of a dual physical SIM.

Thank you for your response.
Do you know if that is a limitation imposed by hardware differences (i.e.: the US version is missing a radio or SIM card slot) or is it imposed by software?
(I have purchased a dual SIM tray to put into my S22)
If it is the latter, would flashing a ROM from a region with support for dual sim cards (and the same processor) enable dual sim cards for the S901U1?
Cheers
I wouldn't know if the hardware doesn't support it.
If I had a guess, it would probably be locked at the baseband with software, similar to the OnePlus 9 Pro. The latter was later confirmed by users; even though the hardware was the exact same across all devices of that model, changing to a different ROM changed nothing as the baseband retained its state.
Also, most if not all non-US models use the in-house Exnyos SOC, so finding a stock ROM to determine this would prove difficult.
Someone might take a poke using QPST and other diag tools. I can't currently do so myself.
