Issues with the Desire

I've been playing with mine since Saturday now and have started to notice some issues.
1. Albums in the music player are not listed correctly. If i have an album by various artists it shows as a different album for each artist. My hero never used to do this.
2. When i charge the battery sometime it stops at around 90% and wont charge anymore until i unplug and plug it back in.
3. Friend stream is set to update every 2 hours but doesn't seem to. And i got no notifications from the Facebook app unless i manually refresh it.
Over all I'm please with the Desire, but I'm starting to think that maybe it was released too early, before all the bugs where ironed out.
Is anyone else having any of these issues?

Why do you think HTC released this phone only at T-mobile?

One album for each artist sounds like you have a different "Album artist" on each track. Windows Media Center etc also shows it as different albums if the album artists are different, even though Album name is the same. I'm guessing that if you keep the "Artist"-tag as it is, and rename the "Album Artist"-tag to "Various Artists" or something like that using a tag editor, it will appear as one album.
I don't have a Desire yet, so can't confirm it, but I recently did a big job of fixing my entire music catalog to avoid this problem.

The problem with the Facebook app is a pain in the arse, it doesn't update whatever you set it too. Had the same problem on the Hero, so I assume it's the app itself.
Plus Friendstream is overated and lacks alot of features.
Can't wait to root and remove all of that crap, can't even uninstall the Facebook app.

I'm using the facebook app. Every message I get it updates. Friendstream I deleted and use the native applications. Albums work but only when they are labelled correctly. One of my albums didnt work, named it correctly and now its 100% fine.

What we mean by Facebook updates, is where it's suppose to notify you at the top of the screen...and it doesn't.

I HATE that there is no dedicated camera shutter button coz I'm vain and all so if I want to take a pic of myself sometimes I'll end up touching the screen when trying to press the trackball etc! It's damn hard holding the lower part of the phone where the trackpad is and press it if you wanna take pic of yourself lol

maybe turn it upside down so its easier to click the trackball and then you could rotate the pic later ? or get your friend or mum to take it ? ;D

It does update for me. I get the facebook logo kinda like an F with an envelope behind it.

I don't think so.. I'm not even sure what it means tbh and I changed my wallpaper to this reddish one so I wouldn't be able to tell if it was pinkish either way lol

not sure wither its normal for AMOLED or not, but the OP saw it as an issue, so was wondering wither its his device fault or his eye is just more sensitive to take the "pink-ish-ness" of the screen

Right, I changed my wallpaper to this cloud-ish one and nope, no pinkish hue (normal brightness). Tried to max brightness, still no pinkish hue

[Q] Could you edit this photo for me, please? To fit better & view more.

I would like this photo edited, that I have attached. Id like the subject to be more in the center, say on the main home screen...as it stands now, a lot of the subject is hidden by the sense launcher and I would need my main screen to be the far left screen to enjoy this wallpaper.
If anyone is able to work some artistic magic to reveal more of the subject on the main(center) home screen and able to reveal more of the art that is hidden under the sense launcher and hidden off of the left side of the screen...it would be greatly appreciated. my experience w/photoshop is limited to image size changes which doesnt really help my cause.

I'm trying...almost have it. I can move it, but it leaves the background and the heal button isn't playing nice.

[Q] Blurry lettering in background and some more questions.

All lettering in the background and not the "Top" gets very blurry and white stripe on it.
For example, if I'm in chrome and I bring up the keyboard, it happens. .

You can always restore back to stock using the LG Flash Tool and you'll be fine, it won't show Custom/Modified status anymore, no Knox like on Sammy phones thank God lol
As far as your Screen shot there I'm not really sure what I'm looking at... Maybe an issue with the font you've chosen... What keyboard do you use?

I've got the same on my G3. I returned it because of overheating issues. I think the white line around text may be a software issue. Does it appear on screenshot (long press power+voldown)?

You're talking about the white highlighting around the letters? That's the sharpening issue that many have talked about:

Flashing rectangle next to battery percentage in drop down.

So when I drag down the mode menu, to the right of the battery percentage a rectangle flashes for a second. I've attached an image. In the image it's black, but sometimes it's green and sometimes it's white. Just seeing if anyone has this.

Yeah. Same issue.

I didn't even want to search for this. I just love my watch and wanted to pretend that this small thing didn't exist.

Yeah, it's not great. I hope they fix it soon with an update.

For me It's a non issue really. Very small item in the scheme of things.

I thought I was the only one with this. Seems like others have it to..
Anyone know a fix to get rid of it? Bothers me each time I pull down the drop down..

It is, and doesn't seem to affect anything. But it shouldn't happen and you would think they would fix it. It's just a bit sloppy.

This issue is fixed by changing the font size on the watch to small

Question Black crush on custom roms

I haven't seen this question answered anywhere. If we assume correctly that black crush is software issue, does it mean custom roms shouldn't have it? Has anyone who tried one can confirm that this is the case?

Using another app to fix screen problems is not a good solution. This probably means that it's actual hardware issue, which is sad

Did you try playing a video with dark scenes? I barely had any issues with lockscreen, mainly on apps like youtube.

it's easier actually, just open a pic perfect black with something shiny/colored, and then zoom in and out, watch the black around that white/color. "works" for me on max brightness to replicate it.
the custom roms make it much less visible compared to miui though, and reducing the brightness to something sensible is always a good idea. on auto brightness i can't see it ever.
it's probably a hardware issue or smth in the display driver. but tbh it's not a big deal during every day use.

Yeah, it isn't a big issue or I would return it and buy the phone I wanted before this (Note 10 pro). But the fact is, there is an issue and it's sad that they allowed it to happen to upper midrange phone.
