What's the best MTCB unit for a Volkswagen (RNS510 replacement)?

I've joined the Android HU community earlier this year when I bought a 1GB MTCD rk3188 (Eonon) device. Needles to say, even with microG and reflashing everything, I am experiencing buyer's remorse. I even found myself going back to RNS510 every other week.
With the first purchase going awry, I am now turning to the MTCB part of this community to hopefully find a more flushed out product. Preferably something that runs KitKat and has 2GB ram for the future. The ability to playback h.265/h.264 would be great as well. My current VW OEM unit's design is this:

Do you have any recommendations? What's the best MTCB device out there now generally speaking?

What was the problem with the first Android HU you bought? The make of an Android HU is not so important as long as you buy a model for which you can install an alternative firmware . I have this one in my Skoda car (same as Volkswagen): http://xtrons.com/pb86unvp-8-hd-dig...yer-custom-fit-for-volkswagen-seat-skoda.html and I am satisfied because I am using the MTCD Firmware from Malaysk which you can find here in the forum.

Bluetooth 4.2 or 5.0

Hi,
Can anyone confirm that the Mate 20x have bluetooth 5.0.
There are many rumor in China that the Mate 20x has Bluetooth 4.2
and the official website of Huawei seems to be deliberately fuzzy about
this

It's iffy... The official site does not list the Bluetooth version of the Mate 20 X. I tried to find the answer but didn't find it.
edit: I believe Mate 20X is not BT5.0! Both Mate 20 and 20 Pro are BT5.0!

I can confirm Mate 20x has BT4.2 and it has very poor connection to my car stereo. I just use the headphone jack. It sucks.

It doesn't depend on Bluetooth version, your car audio problem is more likely Bluetooth audio codec related. See other posts.

My Bluetooth is steller. I have zero connectivity issues and the range is great.

Pretty certain it's Bluetooth 5.0

Hi, may I ask what is the current version of your mobile phone, and what is your car model and annual model?

Tested the global version with Toyota Prius 3,and everything OK, Spotify works as it should.

USB Devices kill/disconnect Wifi and other USB Port

i own an brand new Witson PX5 unit and have little trouble with his USB Ports and the Wifi Chip.

this radio hast an USB connector cable port with 4 single USB plugs on the back side.
they 4 plugs are internal connected to 2 pairs.
Pin/port 1+2 is a pair and 3+4 is a pair.
(the numbers i wrote are possible not the correct PIN sequence)

now the wifi chip is an Realtek RTL8188ETV with "network USB interface (USB 1.0/1.1/2.0 compatible) controller,
and it is connected/routed to port/pin 1+2
the problems is, if i use the DAB box on port/pin 1 and put an USB device in port 2, it will kill/disconnect the port/pin 1 and the wifi chip.
right after this, they will both reconnect and work a time long.
The same process if i use the DAB box on port 2 and plug in and USB device in port 1. it will kill/disconnet port 2 and the wifi chip.
With port 3+4 there are no issues. there i can stick in and out how i want and there are no trouble with any USB port.
the radio runs without any software modifications instead temporarily root (the problem existed already before!)
i tried a newer and older MCU and the actual OTA Android 10 Update which i got from witson (Bob) because of this problem
unfortunately no success.
i can provide an dmesg.log , event.log or logcat.log if it would help.
(for me this is unfortunately too much data)
my questions
would it be more an software problem, hardware (mainbaord) fault, faulty mainbaord layout or only an faulty USB connector cable ?

Sygav PX6 RK3399 Android Head Unit blackscreen help!

Just got a PX6 RK3399 Android 10.0 Headunit, when left unplugged from the car for a while of time it will turn on and work correctly, but then goes back to the black screen after a reboot. By black screen, I mean the main display has no picture yet the backlight works. The buttons still make a beep sound but there is no sound otherwise when it's like this. I was able to see the head unit and touch screen still functions by plugging a monitor into the hdmi out on the stereo. I've tried factory resetting and used the RST button to get into recovery mode. The display is still black when in recovery mode.

The chinese support people have just told me a bunch of bull**** like "Have you rebooted the device?" or have I made sure it's plugged in.
Any help would be greatly appriciated. Also depending on if there is no fix. Is this a common issue with the PX6/PX systems? Would it be a bad idea to return it and buy another PX6 just from a different brand?
Another weird thing, it says Android 11 in the settings/about on the device.

Did you make an upgrade of the MCU before getting the black screen?
If no display is very difficult to go to solutions...

Happened to me. I pulled the fuse for a few seconds and reinserted it. The screen came back to life and I haven't had a repeat occurrence in several months

@Tommy141x A couple questions for you, how long have you had this unit? Did you run the brightness at 100% when screen was working?
Considering your post was from March, I presume you've had the unit past the return period. There is a known issue with SYGAV and Dasaita with the TFT board if you run brightness at 100%. I would think that SYGAV would send you a replacement TFT board if you still have this unit and still have problems. I had a similar issue with a Dasaita unit and they sent me a replacement TFT board and that fixed the issue.

I have a similar problem with my px6 rk3399 from wondefoo. I installed by mistake the worng mcu file nad now I´m stucked with a black screen unit. But I get connected to it by USB and can get into recovery mode.
Is there any way to install the correct MCU file again? Thanks for your help.

Yes it s a mtce unit.
I haven't ask to reseller he never answer and my unit is more than 2 years old ( no warranty)

My crystal ball failed me

I also faced same kind of issue with PX5, I opened up the unit and re plugged all ribbon cables. but initially result was same, after few days screen goes back to original condition automatically and working fine now.
