What was your reasoning for doing this? To get updates faster? To be able to use LTE in a different area? Both?

So all you did was flash the canadian firmware on your watch and LTE worked in canada? Just wanting to make sure 100% that this works cause i dont want a bricked watch You flashed over wifi netodin then clicked mobile networks and found the watch?

My watch is 825F, before was DBT now became ITV with OXA firmware.
I flashed combination firmware for 825U like tutorial, made CSC change and then flashed stock firmware OXA.
When I flashed combination fw net odin gived me an error, but I continued to flash CSC, in my case worked at 100%.
Only now I read that you have 815U, therefore I don't know if this tutorial works for your model!
Bedt regards

I see step #28 launch net odin connect your watch ad charge your stock firmware (Step#3) and press start. Do you mean load BL, AP and CP then flash? or add CSC too? Sorry that step is confusing to me.

Just out of curiosity, if something goes wrong, what would i do to go back to the way the watch was before? Just flash the original firmware and reboot? Thx

If something goes wrong you could brick your watch or could be lock wifi mode in odin like this link
https://forum.xda-developers.com/sm...axy-watch-active-2-44mm-sm-r820-odin-t4009587

Well thats what happened just right now Luckily i have the usb mod cable. So i guess ill just load up the original firmware and flash it back.
Mind you, adfree said i could probable get away with just flashing the stock firmware for my watch since its a regular galaxy 42mm watch. Let's just say he was wrong. So ill try your method now and see how it goes. At least i know i can get back to stock and try again with the Gear S charger.

I suggest to you to see this post where someone talk about canadian firmware
https://forum.xda-developers.com/smartwatch/galaxy-watch/changing-cs-gwa2-sm-r825f-t4017839/page4

Tried it your way too and a garbled screen came up but then pressed power to get to recovery menu (after flashing .csc) then held power but now im stuck in odin mode again (till i usb it again) then start from scratch It doesnt seem to want to go into recovery mode after flashing combined and csc.

Well, I've tried every method known so far and at the end I get the odin screen which i need to recover from using the Gear S charger. This method or the russian youtube method will not work for the regular galaxy watches (42 and 44mm) I've been trying for 10 hours with no luck. Anyone else want to give it a go? I've even tried leaving the auto reboot in odin checked and i still only get to the "go to the recovery menu then hold power" till it reboots to recovery on the watch. That's where my luck ends. I get the odin screen which needs the Gear S charget to get back to 815U. Make sure you use the U combination firmware (if youre coming from the AT&T watch)

Best regards

K i just got a membership there too and downloaded the latest combination and regular firmware for the galaxy watch 42mm SM-R815U. Let's see if it works now!

Suggest to you to flash only your BL with jtag and then if works try to flash all firmware with net odin

Do you mean the last step where i flash all 4, flash BL with jtag then connect wireless with the reset?

In a video of youtube, at first flash BL with jtag, then flash alla firmware (BL AP C0 CSC) with netodin in wifi mode.

If i flash BL with jtag, i have to reboot into wireless download mode and the watch hangs at odin causing me to restart the whole process. BTW, while flashing any of the files here, it says "OK" and nothing was skipped over on the write process.
So just to 100% confirm, when flashing the CSC file, are you using the one from the oringinal firmware or the new one you want to install? Also do you have matching firmware files and combination files? (same letters and numbers in the file name)?

ATT Note 5 Native Tether/hotspot (NO Root) 6.0.1 MM

I am using an at&t note 5 (sm-920A) i downgraded from Nougat EQC6, 7.0.1 to 6.0.1. MM CPK1 with Binary 4 bootloader. This phone has never been rooted.
I now have access to hotspot in my notifications drop down menu, and USB tethering along with Bluetooth tethering work by just going to the option and switching them on.
My Goal was initially to downgrade to 5.1.1 to get root so i could make use of the Native Tether/Hotspot and other root apps on my ATT Note 5.
I am using this phone on the Straight Talk network.
This is my first how-to and first post. I apologize if i post in the wrong section or am unable to give more help to those in need.
I've searched/googled and although i have found workarounds i have not found any how-to's to get to this end result.
Ive been using my note 5 this way for a few days now with no problems. disabled att bloatware, knox, and system updates with package disabler pro.
With not having any issues, I flashed back to the 6.01 firmware to check my steps and write this how-to. Will update if anything changes.
WARNING!!
Some things i did may be unnessary but were in my process at the time of writing/doing this so are included
I haven't tested everything on this phone.
I don't know if there are any bugs.
I don't know what will happen when updated.
I do not garuntee this will work for you.
I take NO responsibility if your decision to try/do this fails.
The Search button and google were my biggest helpers.
Here is my process as laid out and straight forward as i could think to write it.
Things you will need:
1. N920AUCS4CPK1 posted by droidvoider (https://forum.xda-developers.com/at...lution-samsung-note-5-sm-n920a-error-t3545600 using odin) by droidvoider
2. Odin3 v3.12.10 posted by anycallmongolia (https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2711451) by anycallmongolia,
3. COMBINATION_FA51_N920AUCU4APL1_CL6053901_QB11816686_REV00_user_mid_noship posted by BE8ST (https://androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=124797)
4. N920AUCE2APB2.tar posted by TechNyne66 (https://forum.xda-developers.com/att-galaxy-note5/general/att-note-5-n920a-teather-root-t3356666)
Big Thank you to these guys for posting this stuff, and everything else they post.
I am assuming you know how to put your phone into download mode and use odin in the following instructions. I left my phone connected to my pc with sim card in the entire process.
1. Unzip N920AUCS4CPK1, then Flash using odin. Use all 4 files in their respected spots. nothing else has to be changed hit start.
After reboot I setup up the phone enough to get to settings and enable developer options. making sure to turn on adb debugging and oem unlock. then rebooted to download mode
2. In Odin, Flash N920AUCE2APB2.tar in the BL slot and COMBINATION_FA51_N920AUCU4APL1_CL6053901_QB11816686_REV00_user_mid_noship.tar in the AP slot. (I flashed these two at the same time)
Phone will reboot to binary splash screen then start regularly. For me the phone Played boot music and (vibrated then vibrate twice) repeatedly. Bootloop
If this happens to you as well,
2a. Shut phone off by holding volume down key and power button.
(If you are brought to a screen that says power key long press in yellow with other information below[well call this the info screen, not sure on its proper name],
then power off by holding volume down key and power key again, releasing both when screen goes blank.
2b. When the phone is completly off reboot to recovery by holding volume up key and power key.
Do a factory reset and wipe cache. Then reboot. (If it freezes at cache complete, power off with volume down key and power key).
Holding power button for 10 seconds or more will boot you to info screen again.
3. Your phone should load to a home screen with what looks like a debugging menu as the background.
4. Turn phone off and boot to download mode.
5. In Odin, load BL, AP, and CP from N920AUCS4CPK1. Leave CSC blank. No other options should be changed in Odin.
6. You will reboot to recovery. Use reboot option. dm verity check will start then phone should reboot to normal setup initialization.
7. If for some reason your phone shows the wrong storage size, go to back-up and resert in settings and o a factory data reset mine was showing up as 16gb where as it is 64gb
That was everything i did.
If with straight talk send a text to 611611 with the mesage being apn.
afrter a few minutes they will send a configuration message for browser and mms.
Install both. They should say installed when complete.
For others you will have to input your apn settings manually.
My phone showed H+ for the first few minutes, has been showing 4g ever since.
Just a few thoughts before i post, but are in no way tested or confirmed...
I'm thinking coming from cpk1 full firmware you could just flash the combination file in the AP slot.
Then after reboot to Download mode flash the cpk1 firmware without the CSC file and hve the same result,
but I havnt had a chance to test that yet as i need my phone running, and will soon have to go to work.
The main reason the N920AUCE2APB2.tar file was used was because i was playing around flashing different files it may or may not be needed. further testing is needed. but it was there during this process so i included it. Again I apologize if this could be simplified or if i left anything out. any comments are appreciated positive or negative. Thanks
So i did a little testing. Flash cpk1 all files. Then flash the custom binary and rebooting to download mode. Then flash the cpk1 files again minus the csc file. Leave that slot(csc) empty in odin and it will give you native hotspot and tethering. You get hotspot from notification drop down menu and No more contact att. It will take away the calls over wifi option though.
I will edit this walkthrough (if you canveven call it that) soon to reflect the changes. Thank you for reading.

[ATT Note 5. on straight talk]
This process also works using this firmware. i updated from cpk1 using my process in post #2. i left out the (csc) and pit file in the N920A_N920AUCS4EQL1_ATT_USA_7.0.zip huynhlam posted in the link above. I am now on 7.0 with native hotspot and mobile hotspot icon in the notification drop down menu working . i can upload pictures but atm im not familiar with the best free file hosting sites so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. i will keep trying different firmwares and update with results.

Thanks

Hello Badbrane, I followed your instructions and I succeeded
Thanks a lot!
EDIT: After some testing I found out a bluetooth issue.
The first time I turn the device on, the bluetooth works fine. Then, after a reboot, I can't turn bluetooth on any more.
If I go through a Factory reset I will get the bluetooth working again, till next reboot
I need some help. I'm stuck in 2b (yellow information screen). when i hold [volume down] + [power button] it restarts instead of turning off. What should I do?
The combination file is no longer on Android file host. Any chance you have another link?
Im blind

Update firmware with NetOdin

Hi all,
I noticed that the BSA4 update has been released everywhere except Australia. I've been able to get my hands on the firmware files but do not know how to get the watch to connect with NetOdin.
Has anyone been able to do this? I've seen videos of it for the Gear S2 and Gear S3 but there is no way to "restart" the device, only "power off".
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
cheers,
Hieu.
Actually nevermind I managed to get it working on my own..
Nice going!
so where you get firmware....and how did you do it...give us a rundown
Hi, have you succeeded? Can you give us a tutorial so that everyone can enjoy it?
Sure guys. Will put something together later today after work. Getting my hands on the firmware took a bit of searching but managed to find it on a Russian forum.
Will provide a run down of the process and links to the firmware (note: only know where to download the firmware for the 46mm and 42mm Bluetooth version, not the LTE).
0. This process will factory reset your Watch, so make sure you've backed up everything you need!
1. Hold down the Home button for 6-10 seconds until the message " Rebooting ... "
2. Quickly press Home three times until the Reboot Menu appears. (The menu is available for about 10 seconds, after which the clock goes back to "Rebooting ...")
3. The menu selection is made by long holding Home button. To go into Download (wireless mode) press the home button until "Download (Wireless)" is highlighted, then hold down the Home button.
4. Download mode will load in WPS mode. Press Home twice to change the mode to the AP.
5. Connect to the access point that appears (for example, SM-R800-a2a5) (ODIN for some reason does not see the device if several networks are connected.)
6. Run NetOdin3 and then set the firmware files for BL, AP and CSC, then click Start (Copying/flashing of firmware takes about 20 minutes).
7. After the files are downloaded, the Watch will reboot. Again, hold Home and highlight & select Recovery in the Reboot menu.
8. The "Setting Up" screen and "Resetting" screen should appear and after that the Watch will reboot and boot as usual.
N.B. It is advisable to check whether you have disabled the function "find my watch" or make sure you remember the password to your Samsung Account

Restart both devices and try again is what I'd recommend. And disconnect from your home wifi that you're usually connected to on your PC first before trying to connect to your Watch's access point.

Nothing. You don't need to activate anything in developer menu. Have you tried on another computer?
My connection is always stable on AP connection mode.

Latest software version for 825U (SM-R825U)?

Samsung JUST released Firmware Update R825USQU1ATF2 for the Galaxy Watch Active2 (SM-R825U) on 7/24/20, so it would appear that you do have the latest.
The Sprint Change Log appears to be the same as ATT & TMobile: https://doc.samsungmobile.com/SM-R825U/SPR/doc.html
We have two SM-R825U's, one with an LTE Data connection, one without (BlueTooth/WiFi Only).
The update was completed on 7/28/20 on the one with the LTE Data connection.
However, I have yet to see the update on the WiFi Only watch... and I've manually checked every day... at least once
Not sure what it takes to actually get an Update on a Samsung Watch FROM Samsung It appears that you need to have an LTE Connection with a Cellular Provide r

Step#13: once you see pass status in NETODIN press the reset button ( in my case gived fail, but not a problem, reload net odin if doesn't recognise watch launch it again and disconnect/reconnect wifi named SM-R825F)
Comments - Raj - Here at the end of it the status comes as fail. ......but i still continued
Step#13a: In NETODIN select options again and again turn off (untick) AUTOREBOOT(Done)
Step#13b: Select CSC and select the CSC file located in the STOCK ROM file (Step#3), press start button
Comments Raj - Here the file was not able to load and status came as failed... but i still continued.
Step#14: once you see pass status (This status was failed) in the NETODIN, hold the Home button on your watch until you see rebooting splash and repeat the STEP#6 to access the recovery options menu -(Done)

Step#24: now open and edit, in sdb_2.2.60_windows-64\data\tools folder, with notepad these files, csc-active-customer.inf and prodcode.dat, and change CSC old with your new CSC and save (Done as mentioned above)
Step#25: type: sdb push csc-active-customer.inf /csa/csc/(Done)
Step#26: Type: : sdb push prodcode.dat /csa/imei/(Done)
Step#27: rebbot you watch in odin wifi mode (Done)
Step#28: launch net odin connect your watch and charge your stock firmware BL, AP, CP and CSC and press start
Comments - Raj - Here when i tried to put the file i was not able to start as just after starting in around 10 sec of the process it showed the status as fail. Further i repeated the process 22, 23 & 24 and then changed the (F) to (U) but after again the status failed. I was only left to boot the Old files and come back to my old version. Not sure what went wrong here.
Can you help. ? is there was any lapse or mistake I made.

wow, in Europe, the SM-R825F is on 4.0.0.7 since February.
Why on USA it has been recently updated only to 4.0.0.6? Can't understand...
And Bluetooth versions are receiving 4.0.0.8...
Meanwhile, new watch3 is on 5.5.0.1.. I really hope later this year Samsung bring Tizen 5.5 to the rest of Galaxy watches, at least to the Active2.

Sams.ng is still working on Tizen 5.5 Far ehm Porting to GWA2....
no idea when...
Maybe November 2020...
Blood Oxygen is part of Samsung Health App... require API 5.5...
So tiny bit harder to play with...
Fall Detection...
No idea yet... I saw only ATF3 and ATF6... not BTG6 GW3 Firmware for study...
Seems "part of Firmware"... not really standalone TPK or WGT...
IMHO low chance before official upgrade to Tizen 5.5...

Taken 1st ECG finally on R825f LTE model
ECG Option for R285F with update 4.0.0.8
Finally Its took me lot of hardwork and research ..but finally ECG worked on my watch ....please go through the step step process mentioned below ..and please be sure of taking the risk u if wanna have fun to record ECG ... on LTE watch ...
Pros
LTE worked for Me
Samsung health update for me
The most latest update on LTE R825F watches
Latest firmware LTE .4.0.0.8
Offical update _ no issue of installing the TPK through different sources.
Cons
No Samung pay - which i love the most on watch, anyways will use till I get the official update of 4.0.0.8 on my region.
The process is very similar the way you change the CSC in other watches (R820) but the only difference is the file you use in LTE has to be specific to region .. i was XSA (Australian region) so I updated to LUO (LG plus Region- South Korea).
Check the the link below the following version available on the Fota update to get the latest 4.0.0.8 on R825F.

[SM-R800][4.0.0.7]CSC Change Process

So I recently got a Samsung Galaxy Watch (SM-R800), but to my dismay, Samsung Pay was not available in it by default.
By searching on xda, I found out that running some simple sdb commands would do it, but unfortunately, it worked only in 4.0.0.4 version and mine had 4.0.0.7 out of the box.
Then I found out that the watch can be easily downgraded 4.0.0.4 and then perform the sdb shell commands, setup Samsung pay and upgrade to latest version again. Although finding the process was easy, finding the required firmware files took a lot of time, going through the threads and all. But I found them eventually.
To make it easier to come back to and to help wandering souls if any, I decided to create this thread.
Although I have written for SM-R800 specifically, it may work on other watches too as the firmware link has firmware for other watches too(R810,R805F,R815F,R805U,R815U).
Download links:
NetOdin3_1.0.zip
SDBstarterKidv1.zip
SDBstarterKidv1.zip
Firmware's can be found here : https://4pda.ru/forum/index.php?showtopic=978373&st=80#entry92121314
Following is the process I followed:
Charge watch, at least 90% . This is required as your watch will reboot many times during the process.
Set screen timeout to 5 minutes
Backup your data if any. This process resets watch multiple times.
Keep the WiFi password simple/open, you have to enter it multiple times in the watch during process.
Download
a. Old firmware
b. New Firmware
c. NetOdin3_1.0.zip
d. SDBstarterKidv1.zip
Reboot watch to Download (wireless). To do this:
a. Press and hold power button
b. When you see rebooting on screen, press power button a few times
c. You will get a menu like below
d. By pressing power button, highlight ‘Download (wireless)’ mode and then press power button long to select it
This puts the watch in WPS mode, but we need AP mode in this case. To switch to AP mode, press power button twice, you will see image as below:
Now on laptop/PC, connect to an open WiFi which has name of the device. In My case it was SM-R800.
After connecting, watch will continuously show “Connection timed out error 110”. This is fine.
Now open NetOdin3.exe as administrator. After sometime, the NetOdin window will show IP address of the watch and <ID:0/001> 192.168.49.1 in the Log window. If it is not connecting, try disabling firewall (or Windows defender).
Now once the watch is connected, select the appropriate files in three boxes. For me it was:
a. BL : BL_R800XXU1CSI1_usr.tar.md5
b. AP : AP_R800XXU1CSI1_usr.tar.md5
c. CSC : CSC_OXA_R800OXA1CSI1_usr.tar.md5
Just make sure watch is still connected (IP address is shown in Odin software)
Press Start button. After about 10 minutes, flashing process completes. During my process, it had failed once on by showing on the Odin software. All I did was reboot the watch in same way in Download(Wireless) mode and do the process again.
Complete the setup on watch.
Connect the watch to WiFi, even if doesn’t have internet it is okay. Note down the IP address(Settings>Connections>Wifi>Wifi Networks><connected_network>IP address).
Enable debugging on the watch(Settings> About Watch> Debugging).
REBOOT THE WATCH. Debugging doesn’t connect without it.
Now setup sdb to access your laptop.
a. Extract SDBstarterKidv1.zip
b. Extract zip inside it as per your Laptop/PC OS.
c. Run install.bat/install.sh as per OS.
d. Then go inside data/tools and run ansicon.exe as administrator. It will launch a command prompt window.
e. In it type sdb connect watch_ip_address
f. It will show connected.
I would recommend taking backup of your current CSC info. To do so type following two command in sdb:
a. sdb pull /csa/csc/csc-active-customer.inf
b. sdb pull /csa/imei/prodcode.dat
This will copy those two files in you current directory. The 3 ending letters are your current CSC code.
Now to change CSC, type following in your command prompt window:
a. sdb shell
b. You will get something like sh-3.2$ for prompt.
c. Then type: launch_app csc-manager.csc-pre-configuration
d. It will show “... successfully launched”
e. Now look on your watch, switch to CSC you want to . I selected XAR which is for US and at top of the list.
f. Touch on XAR and then it will reset your watch.
Now check if you have the Samsung pay app in the watch. If not there, You need to open the Galaxy Wearable app in the phone after pairing with watch.
In it, you will find the Samsung Pay option. Click on it, you will be asked to download the Samsung Pay plugin. Install from play store if available in your country or download it from apkmirror. If your phone is rooted, before starting the plugin app after installing it, hide root from the app in Magisk hide or something equivalent.
One thing to note over here is I had used US VPN to connect and setup over phone now, so if it doesn’t work in normally way, try using VPN. I used the TurboVPN, it has free servers too.
Do the setup on phone as well as watch by entering the card details.
At this point, the watch has Samsung pay, but it is still on the old firmware. And unfortunately, update operation from Galaxy Wearable app doesn’t show an update available. So, we need to again flash the latest firmware using Odin.
Repeat steps from step 5 till step 13.
Since the watch will be reset, the Samsung pay icon from watch goes away again, but it is available in the Galaxy Wearable app. Open it, sign in it. If card details were already added, they can be imported back from Samsung account.
Done!
Multiple times during the flashing process, either my WiFi disconnected from laptop or it failed due to some reason, but I was able to always reboot the watch in Download mode again.
I have some screenshots/images too, I will upload them soon.
Thank you @Mirhawk.
One of the best & most detailed explaination.
Does it matter which region firmware you download or are they the same? I Have SM-R810. Also, do you need to have Samsung Pay in the phone?

Thank you for a great explanation. I was stuck on R800XXU1CSD6 and finaly was able to upgrade to R800XXU1DSL1.
My R800 did not get any OTA after I change csc code to get Pay working.
Samsung Pay still works after this upgrade
"9. After connecting, watch will continuously show “Connection timed out error 110”. This is fine"
Anyway after my laptop was connected to SM-R800 i changed network settings (changed network for "public") and this error went off from my watch. Of course I switched off antivirus and windows firewall at the beginning.
After all I had the same problem when was installing last process of this instruction (new version). At first time i had fail but second time worked (maybe low signal from laptop or something dont know)
Which firmaweres do i need to download for SM-R810 with 4.0.0.7 ? I need to downgrade for chance CSC tu UK for samsung pay. I have SM-R810 with the DSL1 firmware right now.
does anyone know, why update no longer works after changing csc?
Just wanted to write here that it worked for me here in AUS, brought a SM-R800 grey import. Just follow the above directs to the T. lol just wanted to add that "e. In it type sdb connect watch_ip_address" watch_ip_address is your watches IP! rooky error. lol. also booting into AP mode I found tricky too but using odin and the cmd command the easy part! thanks again
It works perfectly. The key is to know what firmware do you need.
