Hi,
Seems that the nav bar is not working same as previous android version. I am currently using Nova Launcher and I am perfectly fine using the old fullscreen gestures. But it is too sensitiveand trigerring even when just swiping a little horizontally on the back/recent apps section. it is supposed to be swipe up to trigger back/recent apps.
I am not sure if it is only me or a known issue on Note 10 Android 10/OneUI 2.
Mine does it as well. I hate it.
Download good lock and update quickstar, multistar, and task changer. 1 of those 3 fixed my sensitivity issue on one ui 2 (android 10) using Nova launcher.

Thanks for this. Somehow it works. I have been using good lock as well. My quickstar is updated to latest version and I don't install multistar. I guess it's the task changer fixed the sensitivity issues.

Android 10 gestures only work with the OneUI launcher. To enable the gestures permanently, you need root. I'm using Lawnchair + Quickswitch.

Grab One Hand Operation + on the PlayStore
It's an official Samsung app that works everywhere and you can set gestures as you will.

I'm using the ones introduced in OneUI v1 on the S9. "Full Screen Gestures", "Gesture Hints" is off.
I don't use the new Android 10 ones, because I use Nova Launcher, and there's an issue with the new gestures when using a 3rd party launcher (Every Android 10 device. This isn't a Samsung Issue.
Im using fluid navigation gestures, all but the bottom gestures work great. But i have setup FNG so that i really only need side gestures anyway.

I looove Android 10 gestures but the lack of support on 3rd party launcher is awful so I use Samsung's gestures with hint off. Hopefully Android 10 gestures will support 3rd party launcher soon
I'm still on Pie, using Samsung's gestures. The main reason I left the beta was the lack of support for Nova launcher. Any word from the folks who have the stable version? Have they fixed the launcher issue yet?
I am using nova with full screen gestures. To enable use adb - adb shell cmd overlay enable com.android.internal.systemui.navbar.gestural

Full screen gestures(sides for back version) work fine with oneplus 7 pro on Android 10 w/ nova launcher, so far only Samsung disables them if using a third party launcher.

Android 10 nav gestures on 3rd party launchers?!? It that's correct, this is the best news of the days
The back gesture with swipe on either side of the screen is super annoying. In apps like discord or Amazon or any app with the option to swipe from left side to open menu bar is pointless now.
You have to press the menu bar icon in the top left corner now. They should give us an option for which side of the screen can be used for back gesture

Nova was straight up blaming Google. The December security patch notes state the full screen gestures now work with 3rd party launchers.
My guess is either One Plus fixed it themselves, or they included whatever fix Google did for the Pixels.

Hey guys.
So I got my OTA android 10 update today.
But after updating I have gotten a whole lot of issues with the navigation bar.
1. The new android 10 gestures does not work on 3rd party launchers, this was however expected.
2. The main problem is that I now have a space where the navbar is on the bottom of my phone, this is Hella annoying and frankly looks like crap.
For example, I am unable to strech widget all the way down, I also can not place icons where I want.
There is also an ugly overlay on the bottom when using Chrome or the playstore for example.
Is this how it is on Samsungs Android 10? Or have I just messed a setting?
I hade the One plus 7 pro running android 10 before this phone, on my one+ I had none of these issues.
(please spare me the comments about how you shouldn't update right away)
Sorry my question or answer dont help the white bar is were some apps say go full screen then closes it down have you thought about doing a back and rest on it like factory reset

Depends on the launcher you're using I suppose.
Googles Android Gestures in official Samsung Android 10 don't work well, but I'm having no troubles using the Samsung implementation of Android Gestures with Nova Launcher.

I am using Nova launcher an the navbar section is constant, even though I'm using the old gesture based navigation from android 9.
I have same problem with bar not disappearing from bottom. It is so annoying . Maybe factory reset will help but I don't want to risk, setup of whole system takes me a lot of time. Anybody knows solution for this?
I did a factory reset and now all is working well.

Speaking only from experience with my S10+ and the official Android 10 release, I too had to do a factory reset to clear up a bunch of glitches. We will see what happens once my Note 10+ gets the new version.

Its always a good idea to perform a factory reset after a major android version update.
Themes were causing this issue for me.
I set navbar ht to 5 with hex installer and it fixed the gap below the keyboard.
Luckily it worked for me out of the box. I'm not a fan as some things become more tedious with this change, but at least I didn't have any issues. Definitely prefer avoiding a reset where possible. Even just using Nova, KLWP, and themes, a reset plus having to set everything back up is annoying af.

How are you using the old gesture based navigation from Android 9 with Nova launcher? I mean do you use Navigation buttons in Samsung settings can can still use gestures? Please show me how. My swipe gestures to switch between open apps don't work anymore in Android 10 when the navigation buttons are enabled.
I just noticed there's some lag in Mi 10T when using Nova Launcher as the default launcher. For example, when changing apps in multitasking or going back to homescreen.
Also, when Nova Launcher is set as default, you lose the gesture to go to the previous app swiping up from the bottom and then right.
Any solutions?

Gestures don't work at all in custom launchers, that's a limitation of android 10, and 11, and without rooting there is no solution for now. As for lagginess that's again using other launchers. Try and find one that doesn't lag (nova doesn't lag for me, but I'm using classic 3 buttons navigation because gesture nav doesn't work...)

You have to find the way to get nova launcher to behave like system launcher (delete miui launcher and put nova in its place) to get gestures working. Check on internet, there's tons of guides on how to make system launcher, or maybe there is some magisk module that does that...

I feel your pain.
Same deal on my Note 10+... those damn white labels. That's all I wanted to change.
Nova Launcher does slow it down as do many others if it already has a good stock launcher as the 10+ actually does.
Nova used a lot more resources/battery than stock too.
Take any launcher instability seriously.
After hyperion boot looped me twice, yes two full reloads worth of fun, I decided I could live with the white labels.
My need for speed and system stability is much greater...
Hi I have a new poco F3 8/256gb and it comes with Miui 12.0.2 but I have problems with nova launcher, the buttons recent app doesn´t work and only shows a blanck screen without any of the app. I tried with Apex launcher with the same resul. Then the icon for floating windows only apears on the control center icon and not on recent app, so the usability is very poor. Another problem I have is the bar of gesture on the botton of the screen sometime disapears and sometimes not. I search on the net and a tried, developer option miui optimitation with no positive results, hope Xiaomi release a new update soon.
It's a problem with poco launcher that broke recent apps if you install another launcher.
See here : https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...12-2-2-4-eu-version-android-11.4215795/page-2
I have installed the new version and it's ok now for me with Microsoft launcher
It's not miui, it's android 11. when i was using mi9t with PE, no third party launchers work really well. lawnchair and shady launcher do release their alpha versions and it's usable, not perfect, but, yeah, usable.
Lawnchair Alpha doesn't work, it's the same problem. The moment you enable Lawnchair gestures are disabled.
I had the same issue on my F3 with Nova Launcher
Thanks to @stevejc, I just installed Poco Launcher v2.20.1.26 and got back the recent apps in Nova !
But I have also lost floating windows !
thanks to @stevejc for his answer I update the poco launcher and my nova works perfect but I still have no floating window options in a recent panel. anyone can help me with this?
The only working tip is to use the quick settings button for each app.
I don't have also the icon in recent panel too.
Full gestures don't seem to work for me if I use custom launcher only traditional Dock navigation bar works. Even if you still insist using full gestures restart brings back old navigation. However I tried this app it seems to make full gestures work? Restart old navigation does still return but we can continue use full gestures. Can anyone confirm? If it works more than just me I might buy it.
Pls ignore the app I recommended. When it works it works but it can suddenly stop working. I am going back to poco launcher until there is a fix or someone recommend a working gesture app.

You have any issue of it suddenly stop working? I did. Its same with all others I tried they can suddenly stop working if I don't have 3 dot at bottom it be an issue. Mygesture suddenly stop working according to app accessibility stop responding I need to restart. Turning accessibility on off for it didn't work only restart did.
You need to avoid stop the app in recent apps screen (first icon).
Also I give the app the Start automatically authorization and no battery optimisation.
I have the same problem if I kill the app but with the previous settings it's OK.
I can hide the nav bar, only after reboot they come again.
To hide them add gesture in Miui settings

Does the task bar works with alternative launcher?
Thank you
That's a great question! As a Nova launcher user here for over a decade I'd love to know as well because the task bar looks to be great for multi tasking on this device. A game changer, TBH.
If not, this may be the first time since like the SII, I use an Android device without Nova. Time will tell, I guess.
Nova could be updated to co-exist, but I wouldn't hold my breath now as they were bought out.

Fold 3 user here awaiting my Fold 4 this week. Have the same question as I use Nova on my F3. I'm sure I'd miss the Nova features if I fall back to stock launcher (starting with custom icons per app).
The F3 has a dock that can sit pinned along the right hand side of the screen (which I never use) which works with Nova -- I'm hoping the new 12L inspired bottom dock works the same way (e.g. launcher independent).
I friend confirm that it works!
it works but it take the icons from the touchwiz and they do not appear and disappear, they are always fixed, I will try tomorrow with mine
Let us know how it goes. Another user on Reddit said there bar was never there with the Niagra launcher.

Yeah, I found out that as well. It was rather buggy. So for now, I have stopped to use the taskbar feature.
Because i'm not giving up Nova Launcher for the taskbar feature .
Doesn't work at all on mine, the Task bar switch is disabled if not using the Samsung home.
It seems to be associated with the launcher set as default - it it isn't Samsung One UI Home - the taskbar doesn't show.
I'm using Lightning Launcher - and this is the behavior - so not per se associated with Nova.
Anyhow - I'm experimenting with it now - what I've settled on doing - as I'd like to use the taskbar - is:
- leave One UI set as default home
- write a script in Tasker to switch to Lightning Launcher immediately once the One UI home is activated
Alternatively - maybe we could find a remapper for the home-software-button press - which would switch to a desired app instead of bringing you to One UI. This might work.
I'll be investigating it. If anyone knows of a remapper along the lines mentioned above - please hint. Maybe this would be the easiest way...
So it works with Tasker - if you create a Profile - select the OneUI Home activity there and choose to open the desired launcher - it's allright.
Most of the time then - when you press home, the OneUI home will flash briefly before Tasker switches it to - in my case Lightning Launcher. But it's bearable.
So in principle, Lightning is my home launcher now - via the above workaround, and the taskbar works with all the apps etc. - that's nice. :O)

Don't know - I use Tasker.

I use Edge for multitasking on my Note 20. Just dragging an app gives me two screens. Same as on my tab6
