Oneplus Slider - no complete silent mode - OnePlus 7T Questions & Answers

Hey guys
Just want to ask wether you have problems with the slider too.
I loved the slider on my 3t but now I am just annoyed.
When I bring the slider in silent position it says silent mode. But it only silent the ring and SMS notifications. WhatsApp and other apps are still loud. For me it is completely useless for now cause I need always two steps if I would do it that way. So I need to aktivate do not disturb every time.
Is that behavior an porpoise or is it a bug?

you can check your alert slider settings. Make sure to have your "silent" mode to have "mute media volume too" toggled on

That was the first thing I did... And BTW WhatsApp notifications are not media volume.

[Q] Need some input from Nexus owners

Hi everyone,
I finally decided to pick one up (in the next few days) and have some questions for those of you who already have one.
First, I want to be able to shut off notifications at night (text, email) but keep the ringtone on for calls. I currently use Quick Profiles on my Charge. Does it work on the GN? If not, is there a way to shut notifications off easily in ICS?
Secondly, I use the desktop charger at night and use the phone as my alarm clock. Is there an app in ICS to do this as well. I know there isn't a desktop charger for the GN as of now but I am sure they will be making one.
I played with the GN numerous times in the store and I could not seem to get an answer from any of the workers (no one seems to have one yet).
Thanks

Plenty of apps to accomplish both. There have actually been threads on this already.
You can get apps to turn off specific notifications (even from specific callers or accounts) for specific hours of the day or days.
There is a desktop dock, not exactly widely available right now. Word is January. Pair that with some kinda clock app (or just the default one), there you go.

Thanks for the reply. Last time I read a thread about the notifications, I had not seen a reply about which apps work in ICS. Good to know it works.
I can wait for the dock. I read somewhere they would be making one some time in the future so that is not such a big deal.
There is currently no way to unlink your notifications volume from your phone ringer volume.
You have to find a silent mp3 file for notifications and use an app to set a profile that would set that as your notification ringtone for when you only want to hear the phone ring and not notifications.

The apps that handle this shouldn't just be silencing volumes, they should be filtering my traffic type (SMS/MMS, Mail, contacts) and choosing to ring or not based on your criteria, AFAIK. Guess it depends on the app.

Thanks for the idea Josh. That sounds like a good solution. I did read about an app called Ringleader Pro on another forum which is supposed to do the job in ICS.
I have another related ICS question about notifications. Is it true you can only have one sound for notifications? As of now, I have one sound for text messages and another tone for e-mails.

It should be the same as android always was. For example in Gmail set a certain notification sound, then in text you set a different sound. Pretty sure this still works.

Hey Guys, recently week afther i ota updated phone from 4.22 to 4.42 phone got realy bad loudspeaker, low tones and bass sound almost like farting and no matter how loud i put volume for incoming call ringin, its realy silent, imposible to hear.
I think Factory deset might help it, but i cant lose one portant net banking application, if i reinstall that app i would need go to bank and wait some time.

Also you can try to edit system sound files: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2375919

Speaker volume changing randomly

Whenver I listen to music or a podcast or something out loud on my 5x, every ~ 5 minutes the volume increases greatly for minute or two, and then goes back down. This volume fluctuation is very annoying and makes the speaker kind of unusable. Has anyone else experienced something like this? I don't have any apps or anything that might be doing this, and everything is 100% stock
Try volume lock from playstore

Disable Camera Shutter Sound

I just got my hands to the LG G7+, this was bought on FlipKart(India). I have a strange issue that I am not able to disable the Camera shutter sound. I tried to put the phone on silent, vibrate, even do not distub, nothing works. The camera settings has no place where I can change this. Usually there is a shutter sound on or off toggle, but I cant find this in my phone.
How do I disable this? has anyone faced it and achieved success?
I am not sure if I am open for any rooting.
Please help.
Thanks,
V
Same issue wid me also, any1 to help...
I am not aware of any law in India which mandates this, so why LG?
I was reading in a few places that this happens if I use an Indian sim, I never used an Indian sim in my phone, I purchased it in India but i use it in UAE.
I have an European model. If I turn down the Ring volume, until muted (past Vibrate), the camera becomes silent.
The Ring volume, not the Media volume, not System volume, not Notification.

The ringer volume is already down when in silent or vibrate.
The app SilentCam Switch solved it for me.
I solved it with camera mute beta. Its notifications and badge can be also be deactivated via app options.

This works on my ULM 20e. Easier than figuring out TWRP/dm-verity/etc.
Thanks

It is mandatory to keep camera sounds in some regions/countries for responsible use/prevent misuse. You will neither have the option to turn off the camera sounds nor silencing the phone would silence it.
Like many suggestions already mentioned here, a workaround to this is installing Forced MuteMode which will let you mute the whole device or selected apps with its Auto MuteMode feature.
has anyone tried with root and removing the audio shutter files?
i did and it doesn't work wth

YOUTUBE AUDIO ISSUE AFTER MAY SECURITY UPDATE -- Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ EXYNOS

I have been facing issue with my audio especially while using my Youtube app (not yt music). The volume is too low in the speaker that I couldnt hear even if the Volume is set to max. Tried factory resetting the device. Even wiped the cache through recovery mode. Is these any possible fix for this? Or anyone can explain this issue to me?. The speaker works fine with all the pther apps but youtube.
Hello,
Can you try to disable absolute volume (by enabling the setting) in the developer settings then reboot?
I always had crappy sound with it enable (and it's default now).
You'll then be able to set volume of your phone separately to the other device.

You can also download Sound Assistant (official Samsung app) to also set volume per apps.
Thanks for the reply.
I disabled the absolute volume in the devoleper options.
I already had samsung's sound assistant app and now I uninstalled it and Youtube's audio is working fine now.
