Mine is exactly the same.
Please explain your issue further. I am on global stable 11.0.6.0 and experiencing no issues with the auto brightness.
Yeah please tell us more because me neither I don't have any issue and it works like it should, adjusting brightness of the screen automatically on global eu 11.0.2.0.
I even have set some scripts with MacroDroid to turn it off on low light environments like home to save battery and eye strain and an other script to turn Auto brightness on when ambient light is above 75 lux. Works like a charm.
Regards.

Okay... Well you can be in the exact same lighting and the brightness will lower if you move or cover the sensor in any way. E.g. phone is facing away from the light then brightness will lower as it detects "less" light.
same here -
auto brightness is just fixed brightness
Same here... Autobrightness sucks in this device... I use manual brightness
I test light sensor in the hidden menu and it always show 0 lux.
My light sensor works fine as i have said in the other thread, The light sensor test is working and adjusts as i cover the sensor.

doesn't work for me too, since the last two updates (android 10) 11.0.4 and 11.0.5 (QGGMIXM) when I go to test menu the DAC is always 0.000000 luxes and sometimes it changes but slowly
I confirm my sensor on EEA Global phone using stock Rom V11.0.2.0.(A9).PGGEUXM is working perfectly fine as it should.
Are all the people having issues on one of the A10 Rom or maybe some special phone regional flavor? In that case could be a driver issue for sensor on A10.
Hope this helps.
Somebody should make a poll so we can see how widespread this problem is.
Light sensor Doesnt work any more for me too.
Dac : 0 lux
Must restart device to work again.
Miui 11.0.3.0 global
Android 10
Edit : works again with last Xiaomi updates screen recorder or cleaner.
Same problem here , works fine for some days and then DAC shows 0 lux with the brightness dropped low. It can be fixed only with a reboot.
Hello
Yes, the sensor goes to zero even after updating to mi12.
I feel like it does after adjusting the brightness manually.
can you confirm ?
Same here. Is there a way to fix light sensor permanently? DAC value shows 0. Can be fixed temporarily after a reboot but then fails again.
light sensor sometimes gets stuck, restart phone to get it working gain.
TOTALY disable sunlight mode. this fixed mine problem. If u cantt disable sunlight mode, disable autobrightnes first, disable sunlight mode and reenable autobrightnes. Finaly works for me!!!

Hey guys,
hope someone can help me.
I've the feeling that my light sensor might be damaged.
The setting is on automatic light regulation and i've the feeling that the
screen is very dark. Is there any possiblity to check if the light sensor still works fine?
I've already put my finger for a few seconds on it and nothing changes.
I also read in the guide that the screen should wake up when you wipe over the switched off device.
Unfortunately nothing happens when i do so.
Thanks a lot for your support

Autobrightness has been too dark since the S2. The S3 also suffers from that bug as does the Note 2. Unless Samsung fixes it with a update you`ll have to wait for a hack and root the phone to be able to change it.

Thanks a lot for this information. I didn't know this, as it's my first Samsung mobile.
But my impression is that it worked fine, and unfortunately the note 2 fell down at weekend and
now i've the feeling that the regulation is not correct since then. Is there any test to try if the light sensor still works?
And normally the switched off screen should wake up when i swipe over the screen, right? Because it doesn't work, or is it necessary to set up some settings?
Thanks a lot again for the help!

I think there's a light sensor test in the service menu (can't remember the dialer code to access it though) and for the phone to wake when you swipe over the screen you need to enable "Quick Glance" in Settings > Motion

Hi, does anybody have issues with light sensor/auto brightness on Nexus 4?
Sometimes mine stops working and brightness does not change with light variations.
Rebooting solves the problem.
I am running PA 4.5 beta 2 with stock kernel, but it happened sometimes also on stock rom.
Thanks!

Shouldn't be a problem with PA, I'm running it with no problems.
Maybe you have dirt over your sensor or maybe a thick screen guard over it?

Thank you, but I have no screen film and no dirt on the sensor.
It works again restarting the phone, it seems to stop working after an undefined period of time.

Try searching google for the lux auto brightness apk. Install this and let it take control of your auto brightness. See how it is. Make sure you download the full version.
When I'm in a very bright environment (eg outdoors, sunny day), I can't manually adjust the brightness if auto brightness is on. But I can do it if the brightness slider is not on "red' (if it's not too bright outside). On manual everything works ok, if it's not too bright outside everything works ok.
It wasn't like this on my S7. It bothers me when using Waze: I would like to manually override the auto brightness and adjust it by just moving the slider, not having to turn auto brightness off.
Anyone else having this problem?

I am having problems with my SM-G965F. My brightness auto adjusts with auto brightness turned off! There is definitely something screwy going on with the auto brightness. After a while, it gets so I can't adjust it at all. That is, I can move the slider full left and right and nothing changes. It doesn't matter is auto brightness is turned on or not. No change.
I have done a factory reset once to clear it but the problem came back. They have this usage memory feature and that may be part of the problem. I found this post on re-calibration of the brightness sensor to be helpful:

(as a new member of this forum, I am not allowed to post links. replace "_" with "." )
I did this and I got the display brightness back into a reasonable range. However, I can no longer turn auto brightness off at all. very weird.

UPDATE: Today Samsung released an update to the Samsung Experience Service that seems to have completely solved my auto-brightness issues. Prior to that, I was using Lux Lite and that was working well. If problems come back, I will use that again.

I got it via the notification screen. Here is a thread discussing it.
forums.androidcentral.com/samsung-galaxy-s9-s9-plus/888535-samsung-experience-update.html
(I can't post links yet)
Not sure if they are doing a slow rollout or if it is region based. There are some posters who say that when they search the galaxy store, nothing comes up. When I search it, nothing comes up. I have an international version (unlocked). This device was apparently destined to go to Thailand. But one thing is for sure, Samsung fixed the brightness bug but maybe your carrier is holding it up?

Well, it was working fine until I rebooted. Now the auto-brightness doesn't work again just like before. So, unfortunately, back to Lux Lite. I have to say, that the auto-brightness issue and the battery life of this phone suck.
Hey guys ,
I've noticed that my auto brightness it's not working at all. I need to swipe it to change it.. either I'm in a dark room or outdoors.
Anyone experiencing the same problem ? I triple checked , auto brightness is on but just not working .
Anyone knows any fix for it ?
If it was working in the previous betas, it is probably not a hardware failure (Unless you unleashed havoc on the device during this beta). While it may be that the latest beta has brightness issues, in which case try re-flashing the firmware, Android P has introduced some weird Ai-Controlled Auto-Brightness, which could be the cause. I'm not sure if the new auto-brightness is working yet, so that could also be that cause. Take all of this with a pinch of salt though, I'm new to Pixel, but not new to android development

I just checked with mine and it's working. Try (re)flashing the factory image.
it's also work on my phone without a problem
Having slight issues with mine as well. I noticed it randomly will turn itself off at some point during the day. I seem to always have to re-enable it everyday.
Android 10 OTA had been released for about 4-5 times but always nothing is perfect, so here is a list of bug we encountered and possible fixes...
Bugs/Issues:
USB Debugging turning on after a reboot, even if developer tools are turned off after using USB debugging at least once. (Need more ppl to confirm)
Auto Brightness worse as compared to Pie
VoWiFi (Confirmed not working on Airtel and Jio)
Poor Wi-Fi when using Bluetooth and/or GPS
Mono Audio while recording video
Persistent 'Customize you Mi A3' Bubble in settings. Manual Fix Available
Screen corners and assistant corners are messed up.
AOD draining battery unusually.
Big Launcher icons. Partially fixed in 11.0.15.0
Missing 1/32s shutter speed system-wide. Fixed in 11.0.15.0
FOD not working consistently Improved with 11.0.8.0, 11.0.11.0. Although still reports of flickering or necessity to reboot or need for 'new notifications lock screen display' Fixed with 11.0.14.0
Front camera quality degraded Improved with 11.0.8.0, Fixed with 11.0.11.0
Stuters across UI Reduced with 11.0.8.0
Visible slowdown of phone within 24 hours of usage. Have to reboot after a full charge to again gain back the fluidity. Possible memory management bug. Reduced with 11.0.11.0,11.0.14.0.
Missing EIS Fixed with 11.0.14.0
Note: I listed the bugs after at least a few people reported/confirmed. And struck them when most report the issue had drastically reduced or no longer exist. However, if u still face any issues post them here so the Mi A3 Community can have a look and maybe even suggest a workaround/fix.
In case u find any other bugs or u want to share ur experience after android 10 update, feel free to share it in this thread.
I will update the list with all the bugs posted by the community, so we know which are fixed and whether or not to update from A9 to A10.

For me choosing pro mode on camera will crash the app.

Am I the only one who is experiencing absolutely zero bugs? Everything works perfectly here for me.
Reverted to stock using miflash and just updated to 10 with no troubles or bugs found. Slight increase in battery usage but still perfect
