missing signal strength bars in status bar? - OnePlus 7T Questions & Answers

I've seen screen shot where people seem to have this.. but I just got my OP7T (used the OP migration too to move from OP6), and I do not have any "bars" in my status bar to indicate cell signal strength.
Tmobile, USA.
I *can* add the upload/download speed to the status bar... but again, normally you have the 1-5 bars of cell reception strength.
I can't find anything wiich clearly says there were purposely removed.
I'm on build 10.0.7.HD65AA
thanks!
Mike
EDIT: I can add my own bars thru an app like LTE Discovery.. but again, I thought this was part of the stock OS?
EDIT2: ok, solved.. Status bar.. Icon manager... Cellular data.

i have both H and 3G icons. is this normal?

i did the registry hack so that i could get the H icon instead of just always having 3G but the icon that goes on the signal meter when connected to the internet still says 3G while i have the larger icon with the H. is this normal?
yup, it is
att changed the h to a 3g too over the signal bars. which is funny because if you do the hspa icon disable registry edit with the h icon intact, it still does 3g. dunno why att had to go that far to make sure people never see that they are on hspa.
oh ok. thought it was weird since it was always both the H sign on both places
Found it. Deleted.

[Q] How to check signal strength

I feel stupid asking this question.
Im not even worried about my signal strength but the bars seem to be extremely inaccurate.
I have seen people talking about their -dbm level of their signal, but I cant figure out how to check it. Is there a way to change the bars to dbm and if there is how? If not how do I check it?
Thanks!
Settings>About Phone>Status As far as an easy way to watch it you might check out some of the signal widgets from the market.

Voice vs. 3G Data Signal ( bar )

Voice vs. 3G Data Signal ( bar ) : Are these separted in any status bar mods?
Is it possible?
I've never seen one that separates them, however AOSP roms will always show the 3g strength instead of voice strength.

Click to collapse
Well that is good to know. And explains the discrep I notice when driving, would like to see these broken out somehow though
Hey,
When making calls you are only using 1x and that is many times what your signal strength is, "Except as noted above by Sitlet ASOP which use the bars as 3g". When you are using data on lets say a sense rom you know its going through because you see the 3g on your status bar going. Now there are apps out there which allow you to see the signal strength in decibels and that would be the best way to determine your actual signal strength via 3g 1x 4g etc, but to answer your question I have never seen any mods that do this for you!
Hope I helped if I did please hit the thanks!

Mobile signal strength

Hi I have noticed that as default I only get one bar showing on my mobile signal..
Until I make a call..every time I make a call the signal bars go full and all bars show full..
Anyone know what this is all about?
Thank you.
Its look like switching from LTE to GSM during calls. This is normal if you dont have Volte.
