did you turn it on with the normal settings or did you perhaps use an app to turn it on/configure it?
Turned it off in quick settings and tried in normal settings just keeps turning back on I should point out it only turns back on if I lock the device and then go back into phone.

So i don't know if this is because I just got a replacement device, but I put it on the charger and it's turning the screen off itself without going into the settings. I don't know if this is because it's saying "charge your battery" to update, but I'm not doing anything with ambient settings

Mine came with the new update already on it and did the same thing. Search for how to enable developer mode and there is a toggle there to turn it on or off.
I'm all updated, but the option in developer mode doesn't work for me. I have to manually turn it off in Wear App every night.

Same here.
I would reset your watch and resync it with your phone again. Give that a try.
Yeah, it's gone now have to do the settings again. Fyi, I was happy about this not mad. It must have been asking for the update that made it do this
It appears that enabling developer options somehow disables the screen off while charging option. The strange thing is that although the developer option menu has a toggle for this, it actually does not work.
With the latest S/W rev (4.4W.1) I can turn the screen off in the charger the same way I turn it off on my wrist - placing my palm on the screen momentarily turns it off. (This is with developer options enabled but no changes to the settings.)
Easy Peasy!
Edit: And apparently the result of S/W not operating as designed. My 360 dropped the connection to my phone recently so I restarted it. Since then the screen remains on during charging regardless of what I do.
Hey guys I have a stock note 4 and I cannot turn off wifi. When I toggle it off it will keep turning itself on and off repeatedly. I then have to turn it to airplane mode and turn wifi on while there then turn off airplane mode. This is killing battery life. There are times I would rather use my LTE than wifi. Any help ideas or suggestions are greatly appreciated. If this has been addressed in another post and I apologize. Thanks in advance.
I had the same issue. Try going to settings, location. Toggle it off.

I was experiencing the same. Go into settings / location / improved accuracy......then turn off "wifi scanning".

Thanks. I think this did it
I know there is an option to enable this feature in dev mode however I dont have it on and I have disabled dev mode anyway but still having this problem. Phone will not go to sleep while charging. Is there a setting to disable this feature?
Do you mean that the display won't switch off while charging?

Yes, here the same at original 7.0 ROM... But I haven't tried a reset until now.
Hello,
I finally updated my HTC One S to the Samsung S9 running version 8.0 of Android
I have found that for some reason, the phone needs to tell me the battery is charged by turning the screen on, and the screen does not turn back off again. I searched here and tried the Googles and seems like that is something Android started doing after my old phone so I cannot find a setting. It also appears via the Googles that there is no setting? Is this correct?
I would like to either make it so notifications do not turn on the screen or that the screen will turn itself back off.
I would be satisfied to have the screen saver turn on while on the charger. I have it set to after 5 minutes but it has never turned on.
If some one could help me with either or both my problems, I would greatly appreciate it. I really don't like that the screen turns on when I plug the charger in, but I can live with it if it turned off.
Thanks
EDIT I would like to add that I have all my AOD stuff turned off.

Since it has been about 6 years since I set my last phone up, I completely forgot about Developer Options.
I unlocked D O and found a setting in there to leave the screen off while charging. I think....I figured out the problem.
I can't believe I forgot about D O :silly:
I still have not figured out the screen saver but I no longer am real concerned about it. I would like to know how to turn off the notification that the battery is charged.
Anyhow, if anyone does not know how to get to the Dev Options on Oreo, it is:
Open Settings
Select System ---> About phone.
Scroll down and tap seven times on the Build number entry.
EDIT. The setting fixed the screen saver issue as well as keeping the screen off
