cannot turn off wifi - Sprint Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys I have a stock note 4 and I cannot turn off wifi. When I toggle it off it will keep turning itself on and off repeatedly. I then have to turn it to airplane mode and turn wifi on while there then turn off airplane mode. This is killing battery life. There are times I would rather use my LTE than wifi. Any help ideas or suggestions are greatly appreciated. If this has been addressed in another post and I apologize. Thanks in advance.

I had the same issue. Try going to settings, location. Toggle it off.

I was experiencing the same. Go into settings / location / improved accuracy......then turn off "wifi scanning".

Help setting up a profile

So I'm trying to set up a profile for work using the built in profiles setting on Cm. I just need airplane mode on and wifi. Only problem is that when I switch into this profile, wifi turns on first, then airplane mode (which turns wifi off). Is there any way of setting it up so airplane mode comes first, then wifi? Or perhaps a way of setting it so airplane mode doesn't turn off wifi?
Thanks for any help or suggestions!

[HELP] Wi-fi problem

Hi, when I get less that 30% battery the economizer turn on, until now no problem.. But when I turn Wi-fi on it kickly turns off without phone blocked... And I simple have to go to economizer and dismark the wi-fi option so it's stupid because it's suposed to disable the wifi when the phones "go sleep"... How I can solve that?? Please help me...

Is there a way to disable the cellular antenna without airplane mode?

I want to disable the cellular antennas without using airplane mode. When I use airplane mode but turn wifi on, I stop getting notifications in Hangouts. Is there a way to manually turn off the antennas?

Wi-Fi always on?

I never have my Wi-Fi on, but when I look at the battery stats, it indicates that Wi-Fi is constantly awake.
Anyone else see this behavior? I also have the Wi-Fi location scanning disabled.
I thought there was an additional option somewhere that lets the phone scan for something using wifi, even when wifi is turned off. I believe it is called wifi scanning and is under location settings. Someone correct me if I am wrong.
Try going to settings, location, then menu and scanning. There you can turn off scanning for wifi and/or bluetooth. I believe that is what forces it on but others can correct me.
Edit, sorry didn't see someone answered the same above me.
Yes, I have that disabled, but the battery stats still say Wi-Fi is always active.
Here's a screenshot of what I'm talking about

I switched to airplane mode for a few minutes, which is reflected with the cellular signal activity. The Wi-Fi activity is still showing as on.
I checked with GSam battery monitor, and Wi-Fi doesn't appear to be actually on.
Have you tried the network reset?
I have disabled wifi/BT scanning, keep wifi on only when plugg-in, and then I go to "backup & reset" then reset the network. Now my Wifi does seem to be "not" always on.

Tried it. Still shows Wi-Fi as always on. Ugh
I have the same problem.
Maybe a just a display bug in settings/power menu?
Yes I do see the same. This is very strange and not very nice, when you want some feature off it should be turned off.
I had this problem too. Turns out it was viber which kept WiFi awake.
You need to disable wi-fi scanning.

aod won't turn off.

I can't seem to keep aod turned off have tried switching it off in settings and it just keeps turning back on any help would be appreciated.

did you turn it on with the normal settings or did you perhaps use an app to turn it on/configure it?
Turned it off in quick settings and tried in normal settings just keeps turning back on I should point out it only turns back on if I lock the device and then go back into phone.
