And you can but only if your current bootloader version is not higher than the older firmware. And with, some, latest updates the bootloader version has been upgraded making downgrade a no go

That is why I wrote, "latest android 10", the first batch of android 10 had bootloader 1, the subsecuent updates came out with bootloader 2

What is the firmware version you are currently on? That would help us to be able to direct you one way or another.

Here's a link to ASJ8, I dont know which carrier you're on, but this is one of the last Pie updates.
I would HIGHLY recommend backing up and wiping your device

You mean you need a ROM that will boot on that firmware?
This one will:
http://insertcoin-roms.org/htc-one-m9-custom-rom/
Go to more/older and select 2.1.5 and also get the 2.1.6 Incremental Repack. Flash the full rom first, then flash the 2.1.6 incremental update and you'll have the most current version of the rom for the 1.40 firmware you're running.
can i install another rom? i was trying to install the revolution rom. i had it on my one x

They probably have an older version that will work on 1.40, but I'm not familiar with their rom. Maybe you should ask in the rom thread.
Sorry for bothering you, but i cant make my fone boot with any rom.
I unlocked the bootloader and installed the twrp recovery.
I tried to install many different roms but anyone boot, it freezes on the load screen.

What version of twrp?
How long are you letting it sit on the white HTC screen? Give it at least 5-10 minutes before you decide its not working.

Were you just not letting it sit long enough at the HTC screen?
New firmware for your device is supposed to be released soon.
You'll have to return to unmodified system image to get the update over the air, or if you're s-off you can just flash it manually. If you're not s-off yet, it costs $25 through an app called sunshine.

Double boot screen ?

Since I flashed the open beta 8, I have two boot screen (with the big START on top/right)
One with orange google link then one with red google.
It's ok or I've made a mistake ?
It's normal.

@skymera - Thats not "normal" of course. If you didn't perform a clean flash or updated in the rigth way, the bootloader will show dm verification error (the red warning)
You need to perform a full wipe and flash the Open Beta again to get rid of the warning.
OB8 and 9 need to be flashed with stock recovery (preferably sideloaded), otherwise you'll get that second screen (dm-verity err).
But it's not really an issue, it doesn't affect anything.
Sent from my OnePlus 3 using Tapatalk
OK, I would do it more properly for the next update or for the final release.
Thanks for your answers !

I dont really know, probably by flashing stock recovery before updating?
In the worst case, I can back to the factory OS when the final Nougat will be available, no?

yes. you can. you'll have to go back to 3.2.X then flash stock recovery then side load official stable 7.0.
OK, thank's a lot

Don't own this device so a few questions.

Okay, so, one of my friends has a OnePlus 3 and it disappointed in the battery life after the Nougat update, he wants to roll back to Marshmallow.
So,
1. Is rolling back to Marshmallow possible after a Nougat update? Are there any risks for flashing Marshmallow on Nougat's bootloader?
2. Can someone tell me what is the latest stable (don't want betas) Oxygen OS based off Marshmallow.

2. I believe the latest mm build is 3.2.8 (not sure though)

I'm not sure If we're allowed to post external links but, you can go to Google and search for "downgrade op3".
This is best marshmallow in my opinion of course

Remember that op3/3t N have f2fs file system which is unsupported on 3.2.8 (MM). You'll either have to use an old version of custom kernel (I think only bluspark supported f2fs at that time) or convert to ext4 in twrp. Other than that there should be no issue with flashing 3.2.8 over N

My friend who's downgrading is completely unhappy with the Nougat battery life. Basically his screen on time got slashed down by one hour.

Trying treble roms.

I've been on the same updates since like may. I have stock recovery, its rooted so my boot-loader was unlocked at one point and should still be still. So what do I need to do to update to a treble ROM? I see I can flash directly through fastboot right?

Question need help! flashing global 12 beta to eu stable

EDIT: use downgrade apk to 11 and go to EU12 now, will report have any issue later.
updated : EU a12 run smooth on my device (full wipe)
Hi, I'm using china phone and flash to global 12 beta, now i want to upgrade to eu stable version, i already download the eu rom and put on root directory, but i can't find the "local upgrade" inside update menu.
so i try to boot to fastboot mode and flash the zip file, after boot in to recovery mode, the "advance" option replace with "reboot" which not same as photo i saw over internet, so total 3 option there "wipe" "reboot" and "power off".
the question is how to flash the global 12 beta to eu stable rom in the best way. thx!
