Hey all. I'm looking to pick up a A50 but I'm having difficulty finding information on it's compatibility with T-Mobile. Does anyone here have the 64GB or 128GB variants of the North American A50 and can confirm full compatibility with T-Mobile's LTE network? Also does Wi-Fi calling work?
I'm currently looking at the 64GB model sold by Best Buy and Amazon (model# SM-A505UZKNXAA). I'd like to get the 128GB international model (model# SM-A505UZKNXAA) but I don't think it works on T-Mobile.

I'm not looking to root it. I'm trying to get confirmation on network compatibility.
Check what bands you need in the phone, and I think it will works. But you can google everything about this. https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.re...ne_bought_the_us_unlocked_galaxy_a50_from_bh/

VoLTE and VoWiFi are depends on your carrier too. The phone support these, but that's not means T-mobile too.
I have VoLTE for sure.

T-Mobile supports VoLTE and VoWiFi on compatible phones like my Nokia 7.1. Sadly you can only confirm a phone is compatible by entering an IMEI and I don't want to buy this phone just to have to return if it's not supported.
As you can see my version of the phone is FN, but I have VoLTE (Right upper corner).
But are you ok T-Mobile's US network? If not, you can't answer my question.

None of them do AFAIK. The HK Snapdragon version *could* but there's no guarantee. And even if you do get some service do expect other things (wifi calling, volte, et al) to have trouble or not work and don't expect VZW to support as they will see your IEMI as an unsupported device.

I'm also going to put on the record that the SM-N975F/DS model worked for me on Verizon straight out of the box. I was worried about it because it did not work with the SM-N9750/DS that I accidently recieved. And so to anybody on Verizon, be very careful to get the F model, 0 will not work even though it should be able to. You do not want to be paying for restocking fees on this phone.
Curiously enough, Verizon officially has told me that only the U models are supported on the network. This is an obvious lie because they would have had to specifically whitelist other models of the phone for them to work, so they do know that other models work on the network. Its just that some are blacklisted and others aren't.
Hi guys,
WondaMobile text me that in the S20s G9880 Hong Kong version will not works:
- eSIM
- Samsung Pay
is it true?
Should I be aware of something else? 5G?
Samsung Pay on my old Samsung from Singapore works perfectly worldwide (just the rewards are locked in SG)
Thanks
5G will work. G9880 does not support e-sim but is dual sim. Samsung pay version is Hong Kong version and does not normally recognise other countries cards.
Samsung Pay works in France for me with G9880 Hong Kong version

Nothing. Check T-Dimension website. What you pay for the mobile is the total amount.
I have a bootloader unlocked, rooted Galaxy S20 Ultra SM-G9880 (Hong Kong version) that I am using on T-Mobile. However, I had some doubts about how it interacts with the various bands.
The phone does not support some of T-Mobile's LTE bands, and it does not seem to support any of their current 5G bands. Is there any way to change this with CSC changes or any other trickery?
Would AT&T be better for any of this?
When I use the Samsung band selector app, I see that NR B41 is supported. This is the Sprint spectrum that T-Mobile is repurposing, correct? Does that mean additional 5G and LTE coverage once the rollout is complete?
Another user was having problems enabling carrier aggregation. Is there a way of doing this?

You can't change to a US CSC on your device. Some users are reporting 5G works only on SIM2. Carrier Aggregation isn't compatible in the US with the SM-G9880. I have the Hong Kong variant on T-mobile and 4G LTE works fine.

Would you happen to know if our imei works with 5g on t mobile? I just switched last month from att. On att, you would have to call and give an att imei in order for 5g to work and I'm wondering if t mobile is the same way or if it works out of the box with our imei.
Also, I have an SD card and seems like I cannot have a Sim on slot 2 and an SD at the same time, do you happen to know if an esim will get 5g?

That's a question for T-mobile. It's not a question of your IMEI, it's whether or not your device's available 4G and 5G bands are compatible with T-mobile. I don't know what model you have but if it's a US model eSim isn't available on S20 devices. Only Exynos devices have eSim capabilities.

I have the same model that's been on topic... The SM-G9880...
SM-G9880 isn't eSim enabled, only Exynos variants offer this. 5G may work, take it to your local T-mobile store and see if they can set it up. Often times information coming from a CSR over the phone isn't reliable. If it worked with AT&T on SIM 1 T-mobile it MAY work as well however many users have stated it only works on SIM 2. Even though T-mobile's 5G network has a larger coverage area they can't match the speed of AT&T's mmWave network.

If you root the device I suppose it's possible to override an eSim block on the SM-G9880 but I'm not aware of anyone achieving it. The only Snapdragon variant which offers eSim at this time is the Galaxy Fold. I don't understand what the value of eSim is on a Dual SIM device. Even if you travel to a different country it's a simple choice, keep the SD Card in or use both SIM's and rely on internal memory for storage.
Did anyone try using BRI CSC to see if CA works in the USA?
I live in Dubai and I know for a fact that the UK uses the same bands that we use here so I wouldn't have connectivity issues with LTE/5G.
Now, the Pixel 6 Pro is out of stock at the Google Store UK; so my question is if I buy from let's say Google Store Australia or US, are the supported bands the same or do they use different bands for different Pixel phones depending on the region its sold in?
No. Only the US, Japan, and Australia models support mmwave.
All models should support the same 4G and sub6 5G bands though.

right, so a US Pixel 6 Pro would have connectivity issues in Dubai/UK or would it still work and get 5G signal?
No issues. Provided your carrier doesn't whitelist for 5G or use an unusual band, it should work fine.

it does have all the correct bands though, so maybe in the future google will unlock the phone to be used in all countries or maybe someone smart will figure it out on a rooted phone
