You need to calibrate the offset in application not the barometer itself.

As title,
cn you suggest a gyroscope enabled app/games?

as far as I know that games uses accelerometer non gyro.
Try this

or this

I use sensor track.

I would like something graphical that shows me the movement of the gyro instead of the "raw" numbers.

hmmm, my gyroscope moves when the phone is sitting on the desk.

The cube rotates only a few with my phone, I'm not able to rotate it completely.
is this normal?
Sensor track shows a live graph with three lines for the three dimensions.
What is the usefulness of gyroscope?

Hey,
can anyone tell me how to calibrate the G-Sensor in the Gaaxy Nexus Prime? In games and apps using this sensor it seems that the y-axis is about 5 degrees leftside when i hold the smartphone straight up. This means for example that the figure in doodle jump moves slowly left, although the Nexus is holded erect...
Googled for an solution by myself, but nothing helped so far. Even apps like BubbleLevel, which have the calibration tool, calibrate the sensor just for this app... and not in general.
Thanks
Try calibrating with this app and see if it helps.

Ignore everyone telling you to use an app to do it, because you can't. Android has no concept of global calibration regarding the sensors.
I have 3 Android phones, they all have wrong default calibration, from a few degrees (Galaxy Nexus) to about 30 degrees (Xperia X10 Mini Pro.. unusable).
You used to be able to calibrate in gingerbread by modding axis offset values in the AK8973Prms.txt file in data/misc. ICS doesn't seen to have that file, at least not in the same place.
HTC Desire, Desire HD have its calibration app.

He asked for help and I tried to help him with what work for me in the past. No need to tell him to ignore people. It's a simple process that involves rotating the phone on 3 of its axis. If it helps, then great. But it certainly wouldn't hurt for him to try, would it? No need to be condescending; it's not like I'm trying cause him harm.

I think that method works well for compass calibration for apps like maps and sky, but it is temporary and doesn't seem to affect pitch and roll. GPS status let's you calibrate pitch and roll but only within the app, it doesn't affect system calibration. The file i mentioned above did allow manual system calibration under gingerbread. Not sure how to accomplish under ics. A post i saw suggested that gnex and ics automatically calibrate if you leave the unit to sit alone for a bit. I don't buy it, but that's the only info i have found.
In case anyone is interested in how it was done under gingerbread, see my post at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=16592139

It's not Gingerbread, it's for that specific sensor with that specific driver. The Galaxy Nexus uses a Bosch BMA250 which has an NV memory where calibration settings can be stored but doing so is not trivial. Aah good to know. I'll check that out. Thanks
Is the light sensor present and disabled or is it totally absent?
R: Light sensor?
Use q & a thread..please..
Please search before you create new threads! Something like this has already been discussed before!
Yes? I've searched in general section and I haven't found any answer. So is it totaly absent?

no it is not present, but there are no drivers for it to work
I have made some analysis regarding light sensor in ACE 2 if someone is interested:

To be precise: We have and we have not Ambient Light Sensor. [...] From hardware perspective TMD 2672 can act like proximity sensor and ALS, but not at the same time. From software perspective it is proximity sensor. Ambient Light Sensor is much simpler to be made due fact, it does not need IR diode and Prox control/integration block.
ADC and Data block are the same for both of them.

I recently had an issue regarding the proximity sensor on my DHD and I tried many different ROMs and calibration apps but none of them worked. Seems like the problem is the dirt that blocks the way of the sensor. I cleaned the grill from the dirt and everything is now OK. Hope I helped someone.

Hi have you tested the proximity calibrator app?
Setup of proximity sensor isnt the main goal of roms...
Look at this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=951858
Set values, test it if the sensor shows "near" or "far" or adjust it more.
My DHD needs LOW = 2; HIGH = 3; and it works...
oh , and in Cyanogenmod 11 by mustaavalkosta, its already installed i think.

Yep spot on. CM11 comes with it.
Low 3 and High 5 works best for me.

I think you missed the point. The entire idea of his post was to let you know that his issue was dirt in front of the sensor.

That's what I had to do in the end as well. Remember that these phones first came out in Oct. 2010 (when I got mine ....!!) so plenty of time for dirt to build up. Check the Proximity Sensor thread for links on disassembly but I followed this site ... http://www.beardeddonkey.com/home/comments.php?y=12&m=04&entry=entry120428-040327 ... to take mine apart. Not all of it, just far enough to clean out the PS. All good after that.
thanks for the tip
i need clean my sensor
thanks man !! been modifying thresholds using Proximity Recalibrator forever with no avail ... i don't know how i forgot about cleaning the sensors :silly: :silly: you made my day !! thank you a bunch !!!!
That easy..?

Just clean the sensor and everything works fine ?
So my mother is looking into a new phone because her gyroscopic sensor doesn't work. I couldn't really find anything to help with it, but I plan on trying everything I can before she does. This includes flashing back to the stock version that had gyroscopic calibration, replacing the motherboard (where I think the sensor is located), etc. My question in case it gets down to it: on which part is the sensor located?

Try GPS Status, it has a means to calibrate (pitch and roll) that might fix the issue: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.eclipsim.gpsstatus2
