Because of Corona. So... Redmi note 8/8 pro is my only choice for now. I think 8pro is much better, but the chip and custome Rom is not a little problem. And "easy got brick" is very confused me. So...Please help.
I aiming to flash twrp and Xiaomi.eu Rom with Android 9 and root (Dont like, and dont think about going android 10)
Which version is safe to do that.? Chinese or Global.?
Which action will brick the devices.?
Thankyou and sorry about my bad English.

You can do it with either version but i highly recommend you DON'T flash the eu ROM until further notice. You have a better chance at safely flashing a GSI ROM. And as a tester for a ROM closest to completion i can safely say there is a really good chance a fully functional native ROM will be out very soon.

Why not just buy the MIUI version of this phone in the first place? This is an Android One phone, why would you want something seriously inferior on it? Put development efforts to Lineage or the other ROMs for this device.

Bad notice for our RN8 Pro. No more roms from xioami.eu for the RN8 pro for lots of brick by flashing magisk, twrp or modules.

Well there not doing it right because my phone's working mint with custom recovery and root. They jumped ship to soon.
Yeah sad news.
It's starting to look development will be limited as always with mediatek devices.
I'm satisfied with root and stable EU 10.4.5 except for the Google dialer without call recording.
But I'm not even sure if it's safe to update to latest stable 11 global EU. Snapdragon would have been the safer choice.

I agree. I m on stable from xiaomi.eu with magisk and twrp working perfect. The problem is android 10 in dev rom. No recovery with android Q suport for rn8 pro. I remember lots of brick in rn5 pro (SD) with rollback. And all was solved in a few weeks. Very disappointed with xiaomi.eu.

Yah the problem is there updating the hell out if this device and it's getting more & more updates. It's hard to build a development on something that's constantly changing. Right now I'm looking into cooking up a custom kernel for the RN8 pro. It needs that right now for the audio mods like viper and LKT and kernel audiator because you can't manipulate the parameters of the audio. Right now I'm happy with the stock rom it works good and it's stable. I've never built a kernel so I foresee a brick coming my way. Lol

So if it's true it was only because of Android 10, they should have just freezed development for that. Not stable 9, they removed those downloads too.
Does anyone know safe procedure to update rooted 9.4.5 EU global (not xiaomi.eu) to 11.0.1.0 ? Is it worth it anyway?

I'm very interested in trying. I have done a lot of research and downloaded Android ndk and Android studio. Prob is I run windows 10 pro and it seems developing is a lot easier with ubuntu fedora. I have a laptop modified with ubuntu already established. Haha my gf gets mad as hell when I brick phones and I just laugh and say I'll get it. Unfortunately my back up my mi mix 3 I'm waiting for my screen replacement to come in. Might be using the old modded to death lg g3.
Ah, bad news indeed. I hope it'll quickly resolved. G90T is such promising SoC
One question, is source code still broken? No new news from xiaomi? Maybe xiaomi just taking their time to give us Android 10 codes instead short lived PIE codes. Unfortunatelly, I can't help because zero experiences in programming

I've got twrp and magisk root running.
Normally I'd just flash full zip and flash magisk, wipe cache and reboot.
I'm just wondering if someone upgraded to 11 rooted and what procedure.
How's 11 anyway compared to 10?

I was in miui 11 stock (oficial upgrade) , flashed twrp, installed miui 11 stable xiaomi.eu and root. I bricked the phone flashing dev rom android 10. I think android 9 roms are safe to flash anything. The problem is in android 10 roms. Be careful.
I use xiaomi.eu on my begonia.
Fast and very very low battery drain - better than official global rom from xiaomi.
its sad about end of develop this soft. Only android 10 have problem with flash and do brick.

No roms in xiaomi.eu servers for rn8 pro. I flashed images of stock fastboot rom (tgz format). I delete the dev rom xiaomi.eu.
How to put back stock version on Redmi Note 9 Pro? Now I have the Xiaomi.eu ROM but it is full of errors.
I hope you will help me.
Thank you very much

Is this safe? I have Paranoid Android installed and want to return my device to service and therefore want to flash Stock ROM.. Do I have to consider something to not brick the device? (Got unlocked Bootloader)
I read if flashing the wrong version I could brick the device when relocking? Does it make difference If I flash Global ROM or EU ROM? I only know I don't got a chinese device but not if it is EU or Global..
I am running a EU (i think) note 8 pro with a global 12.5.7 official rom, it has way too many glitches i don't want to deal with and i wanted to change rom, i once tried and bricked it, i recovered it a bit after and that-s how i got 12.5.7, what's the safest way to mod it and what rom is the safest? I was looking at either CrDroid or CorvusOS, which one would you recommend?
To be fair, I have the stock rom, version 12.5.7 and is the most stable version I ve encountered. I have not considered any custom ROM yet because they all seem to lack behind the stock rom. Sure, you get better looks and the vibe of stock debloated rom. Then again you lose a lot of features, Bluetooth range is abysmal and performance is worse compared to stock. And don't get me started on hard bricking risks. My advice would be to make a full reset and stick to the stock rom.

1/You can find many free unbrick hardbrick videos for Redmi note 8 pro. And it's simple to unbrick (in my opinion).
2/You got brick because you didn't follow flash guide.
Example:
- You flash 12.5.x firmware based rom when you are using Miui 12.0.x
- You didn't format data or format data error
- ...
3/Each custom rom has it own support group in each thread. If you want recommend, join there to ask or try it yourself.
Pixel experience imo is good I used to use ppui but rip
Newb question but in the future will it be possible to port the global rom over to the Chinese exclusive 8 Pro +?
I absolutely adore the Pro+ and am astounded by the fast charging but I would love the rom to be global for obvious reasons.

The only reason why I am sceptical is due to the battery size and charging capability being different. The global rom won't accommodate that hardware aspect.
