Playing with GSIs is just too unstable for every device, sometimes its like treble has its own mind. I use a lot of devices, with different UIs, stock Android is unrooted boring (the painfull thruth, but so is One UI for me), MIUI is cluttered for my taste. With to much pathways you can go, it gets harder to choose
Bad notice for our RN8 Pro. No more roms from xioami.eu for the RN8 pro for lots of brick by flashing magisk, twrp or modules.

Well there not doing it right because my phone's working mint with custom recovery and root. They jumped ship to soon.
Yeah sad news.
It's starting to look development will be limited as always with mediatek devices.
I'm satisfied with root and stable EU 10.4.5 except for the Google dialer without call recording.
But I'm not even sure if it's safe to update to latest stable 11 global EU. Snapdragon would have been the safer choice.

I agree. I m on stable from xiaomi.eu with magisk and twrp working perfect. The problem is android 10 in dev rom. No recovery with android Q suport for rn8 pro. I remember lots of brick in rn5 pro (SD) with rollback. And all was solved in a few weeks. Very disappointed with xiaomi.eu.

Yah the problem is there updating the hell out if this device and it's getting more & more updates. It's hard to build a development on something that's constantly changing. Right now I'm looking into cooking up a custom kernel for the RN8 pro. It needs that right now for the audio mods like viper and LKT and kernel audiator because you can't manipulate the parameters of the audio. Right now I'm happy with the stock rom it works good and it's stable. I've never built a kernel so I foresee a brick coming my way. Lol

So if it's true it was only because of Android 10, they should have just freezed development for that. Not stable 9, they removed those downloads too.
Does anyone know safe procedure to update rooted 9.4.5 EU global (not xiaomi.eu) to 11.0.1.0 ? Is it worth it anyway?

I'm very interested in trying. I have done a lot of research and downloaded Android ndk and Android studio. Prob is I run windows 10 pro and it seems developing is a lot easier with ubuntu fedora. I have a laptop modified with ubuntu already established. Haha my gf gets mad as hell when I brick phones and I just laugh and say I'll get it. Unfortunately my back up my mi mix 3 I'm waiting for my screen replacement to come in. Might be using the old modded to death lg g3.
Ah, bad news indeed. I hope it'll quickly resolved. G90T is such promising SoC
One question, is source code still broken? No new news from xiaomi? Maybe xiaomi just taking their time to give us Android 10 codes instead short lived PIE codes. Unfortunatelly, I can't help because zero experiences in programming

I've got twrp and magisk root running.
Normally I'd just flash full zip and flash magisk, wipe cache and reboot.
I'm just wondering if someone upgraded to 11 rooted and what procedure.
How's 11 anyway compared to 10?

I was in miui 11 stock (oficial upgrade) , flashed twrp, installed miui 11 stable xiaomi.eu and root. I bricked the phone flashing dev rom android 10. I think android 9 roms are safe to flash anything. The problem is in android 10 roms. Be careful.
I use xiaomi.eu on my begonia.
Fast and very very low battery drain - better than official global rom from xiaomi.
its sad about end of develop this soft. Only android 10 have problem with flash and do brick.

Só, I flash one AOSP Rom (Pixel Experience) and all OK, image OK, touch OK, all works.
Anyone know how I can solve this, I want use an Miui12.eu Stable Rom, maybe the problem is I need replace the display driver of the Note 8 on file package Note 8T, but I don't know how do I make it, any idea?
Thank you

Hi, no way
There are some people with xiaomi service account, it´s solved , it´s working again, of course i have to pay to solve this, but OK.
The problem presist , I Cant use one Xiaomi.EU rom, the display doesn´t work becouse the replaced screen I think doesnt have the correct drives, or other tink than I dont know.
Only AOSP, CAF, etc Roms works fine, I Dont find any ported Rom so still searching...
Tks
Hi again, anyone know where is the LCD driver on the files bellow??
I was tinking , there are one ported MIUI.EU rom that works, if I replace the correct file on original MIUI.EU file maybe this wil work fine... No ??

Yha, it's very strange Willie, I think this is some problem with drivers to this non original display, only AOSP or Ported Roms work, the big problem there isn't many ported roms based in MIUI, I hope someone develops more ported Miui roms, here in xda just one for Note 8 (ginkgo) for 8T nothing.
And I tell if someone thinks in install ginkgo on willow DON'T DO IT , YOU WILL BRINCK YOU PHONE
If someone later have this problem, for now use AOSP Roms or Miui ported.
This works :
xiaomi.eu_allurba_HMNote8T_20.7.9_v12-10.zip | by allurba for Redmi Note 8T

Vendor?
Sorry, the vendor file?
inside the vendor folder there are lib and lib64 folders .. I think if we can use the library file (Aosp Rom), we can use it to replace the one in the EU rom (but unfortunately I don't know the library file related to touch screen) .. .

So we can use oficial xiaomi.EU Roms and updates, just flash a custom kernel after instalation or update, works like a charme
In my case I´ve used this SixTeen•Kernel•Q•Ginkgo•Willow•26122020•1
Thanks a lot.
so glad to hear that ...
Do you guys think it will be possible to support the pen on custom ROMs? How does that work normally, is it some drivers that need to be installed, or would functionality be at a very low level such that with custom ROMs it wouldn't be possible or...?
By custom ROMs I mean Pixel Experience etc, not the Xiaomi EU MIUI crap.
There isnt any custom ROM for this device
The smart pen nor keyboard cover work with Treble GSI ROMs. The smart pen can be paired to a tablet running GSI, but no response from the tablet's display when using the pen. I'm guessing there is something in the MIUI ROMs for this tablet that allow allow the tablet and pen to work together (may be in all MIUI ROMS).
Hi, it's possible
I was wondering the same thing as well...
Really hope good ROMs are coming soon, the software experience is awful rn

No, the pen doesn't work on PE11 GSI or any other GSIs I tried. It's a real shame. Still for me PE11 is much better than MIUI.
