Hello everyone.
I'm using Redmi note 8 pro; MIUI 10(OS).
The device came with "Messages" by google app.
Problem is when I'm trying to send SMS(using messages App) to a group of 60 people from my contacts it sends them to individually instead of group. Someone suggested me "Textra" app and asked me to enable bulk SMS in settings. After following that whenever i'm trying to send "Group SMS" via Textra app, it asks permission for almost 25-30 times. After after allowing almost like 30 permissions I have to click on retry button and then that SMS is sent to those 60 people.
IS there any easy app which can cure this problem?

I dont think this issue is related to MIUI but to Android itself. It is not actually an issue but a feature from Android to protect users from malicious App that sends huge amount of SMS in bg without any user permission.
I often had that issue with Signal (my default SMS app) when having coverage issue and the app trying to resend the message until it works.
You could try to see if that could fix your issue and if you trust your SMS app, no reason not to here since you are using stock, you could apply the fix to see if that works for you.
How to Change the SMS Limit on Android Without Root
Good luck and let us know if that worked for you.

So I've been using GO SMS Pro for almost two months now. Early on I got tired of getting messages within the app as well as through my stock messaging app. I used NoBloat Free to disable the stock MMS.apk and that eliminated the duplicate messages.
However, I had a friend tell me repeatedly that he had sent me a picture message and I wasn't getting them. I could send them without problem, but I couldn't receive them. So I decided to re-enable the stock MMS.apk and it started working again.
Is there anyway to avoid the duplicate messages and still be able to receive MMS? Should I be using a different messaging app? I like the GO SMS more than the stock messaging app.
Just disable notifications in the stock sms app. That's what I do when I use another app.
Sent from my LG-P930 using XDA App
Well I guess that would eliminate the duplicate notifications, but they are still "there". Even after re-enabling the stock messaging app I had 438 messages waiting. I worry this is slowing down the phone because they all build up. If I could receive MMS without the stock messaging app I'd be fine.
Yes, I've noticed every time that i restart my phone it says i have whatever amount of messages from the stock app, but i redirected it so that when i go to view it just goes to go SMS pro

I guess I could just redirect it to GO SMS. Does anyone know of a better remedy though?
Could I use Titanium Backup to freeze the stock messaging app? Or would I end up with the same result as I did using NoBloat free?
I have the same "problem". when I send one text message .. the receiver will get 2 messages from me . :|
with older go sms I don;t have any problems
Same problem for me. Send 1=sends 2.
Kiiiind of a critical bug for a sms-app.(if it is the app that is)

Me three. 1 = 2 for me.
GO sms Pro, sent message
Samsung Galaxy S2, same problem with 1 message sendt via GO SMS Pro = 2 received messages for the receiver..
Somebody know the solution for this? Is the problem within the GO SMS application?
Same problem for me..
Same with me , 1=2 , GS2. It forced me to switch to another messaging app. And go sms is the best one
Had the same problem. Just update your Go sms pro app to newest version from google play.
You can check out Whats new section. there is "9.Fix send double msg issue in ICS Galaxy SII"

I just got a new Galaxy S3 and installed Go SMS Pro. My problem is slightly different. The person i send the message to doesn't get double messages. But I get double messages from the sender. I just installed this app 5 min ago so i assume i have the latest version. Any ideas out there? Thanks.

i de-installed SMS GO Pro and put on Handcent and have the same problem. The person i send the SMS to only get's 1 message but i get 2 of theirs.
Every time I receive a group message when Roaming I have to click 'Download' and wait for the message to download before viewing it. This is quite painful when in a large group text.
I use Google Messages as my default Messaging App on my AT&T Note 5. I have enabled 'Roaming auto-retrieve' under Advanced settings but that doesn't seem to have any effect on weather the MMS/Group Message is downloaded automatically or not.
Anyone else have a similar issue? Am I missing something?
Thanks
May want to throw this in the Q&A troubleshooting section.
Have you tried a different messaging app? It would be good to see if this is a blanket issue across apps or not to help determine if app specific problem or system/phone problem.
Have you tried with the setting disabled?
Sorry for the late response.
Looks like a bug with Google Messenger (the setting doesn't make a difference whether it's enabled or disabled). When using the Samsung Messaging App the messages are downloaded automatically.
Thanks
For the past week I have had issues trying to send my sister a text message. It has come to my attention that when I sent her a text message it for some reason gets sent to my nephew who participated in a separate text message that consisted of more than one party; In other words a group text message.
I have found LG Mobile on Facebook and informed them of this:
I solved the issue with the text messaging application bug. It is a bug in fact.
When the LG G5 has multiple group text messages with individuals, who you also try to have an individual text message conversation with, the phone will default a newly-created non-group message back to a/or one of the many group text messages that already exists with the person or other persons you're trying or NOT trying to communicate with individually.. I had to delete all group messages with the other party and then the phone stopped sending individual messages to a group message that they previously belonged to. This needs to be reported to your LG or Google development team as soon as possible. I am quite sure other people will have the same issue.
Interesting. I dont send alot of group messages from the G5. I will keep my eye on this.
BTW, while you have them fixing that...tell them to re-add the ability to have individual themes in our stock message app. I like having different backgorunds per contact
Any update on this ?
HAs anyone had the issue where contact names don't show in messaging, only numbers? I've had the phone almost 2 weeks and it's happened several times.

Nope. Mine still crashes now and then. Especially after using the voice to text feature.
Who knows maybe I have a bad LG keyboard system app. I'm going to root my phone soon and consequently have to reflash an entire rooted ROM so hopefully the new rooted ROM will have a better version will see.
UPDATE
My wife and I both updated our G5s to ROM v10d and so far the keyboard crashing has disappeared.
Hi everyone,
When I try to send sms to a group, the below mentioned warning keeps on popping and asks for permission for each and every person in the group,
"Messaging is sending a large amount of messages, do you want this app to allow sending messages"
I want the sms to be sent individually to each person in the group
I have checked all the app settings and permissions but of no use. Tried other apps like next sms, textra, yaata, but same issue with all.
Never faced this issue in my previously held htc m8.
Anyone else facing this issue and any possible solutions??

Hi I am hoping someone might have some ideas of how to address my problem.
I am on a stock S9 on AT&T. I have had it for about 9 months...but about a month ago I started having a very problematic issue where I occasionally just dont receive a text message from someone. Its not always from the same person, and its sometimes in group texts but sometimes not. Its sporadic but often enough that its very problematic because I sometimes miss important messages without realizing.
I have been using Textra. At first I thought perhaps the problem is with Textra. But I logged in to MyAT&T portal and you can see there a log of all texts you have sent and received - the missing texts are never even showing as having been sent to me from the user.
I havent had much success figuring out what the issue is although after researching, I have noticed that some people think the culprit may be AT&T's "Advanced Messaging" function and they advise disabling it.
So I am now doing that to see if it works. The problem there though is it can only be disabled from within the stock Samsung Messages app, which I dont want to use. And if I go into that app to disable, and then switch to another Messaging app after, then every time I reboot, Advanced Messaging is on again.
If anyone has further advice on 1) understanding what the issue may be and 2) how I can permanently disable Advanced Messaging - I am desperate to receive it! Thank you.

You might have to adb push and remove advanced messaging from your system partition
