Hello. Since few days I've experienced some issues with my LG G7. Fingerprint scanner seems stop to work sometimes, sometimes it works fine. Doctor shows same results - sometimes "good" sometimes "wrong". Any chance to repair it by myself? Or I need to ask support center for help?

I've had the same issue. I know how frustrating it can be especially if like me you use it to unlock everything. All I can tell you is for me restarting the phone solves the problem. It eventually stops working again after a couple of months. A friend of mine has a G7 and hers did it too. Do not try and fix it yourself. Contact support. If you bought your phone new remember LG started offering 2 year warrenties with their phones so if you fall into that category take advantage of it and Contact LG. If that's not an option keep an eye out for open enrollment insurance. Insurance is normally something you have to get when buying the phone, but I know Sprint, T Mobile, and several MVNO's will offer open enrollment periods for about a month for existing customers. If by chance you get enrolled pay at least one bill then contact about the issue and insurance will cover it. I'm just sticking with the reboot fix for now. It's been 2 months and no problems.
i have same exact problem any solution without reboot you have found.
Nothing works to solve it for me now. Fingerprint unlock works about 10% of the time - always random.
LG hardware is garbage. Never again - 3 devices all failed or failing
I disabled all fingerprint login options for all apps that i installed from Google Play (Mobile Bank, PayPal app, App for paying with NFC, Mobile Operator App, etc.) and for now it works without problems.
Mine is Fixed.
Hi All,
I had the same issue where my phone would intermittently detect my fingerprints. This was painful & frustrating, to say the least.
For other issues with the phone, I had to format the phone, that seems to have done the trick. My phone now detects my fingerprint as it did before. I am not sure what the issue may have been but if you are really frustrated with the scanner not working, you may want to give this a shot.

Has anybody noticed an intermittently unresponsive touch screen after the latest OTA? I haven't had any problems since they fixed the original problem way back when.
It goes completely unresponsive and I have to reboot several times to get it to work until it stops again. I'm assuming this is a hardware issue on my end since I haven't heard anybody else talking about it but I just wanted to make sure.
I think I will try a different kernel and/or ROM to see what that does.
Hi,
I have the same issue here, it started a few days ago for me. Up till today I just had to reboot but now it seems completely blocked... I will try again later but this is becoming really annoying
.
I had the same happen to me about 2 months ago. Happened around an OTA.
In the process of trying to replace it. Tried flashing recent factor images but no luck
I've had exactly the same issue as described. Hardware buttons work fine, but no response to touch. Started intermittently and got progressively worse until there is no touch response at all.
The first time this happened, I contacted google support, and they arranged a replacement. That was in June.
The replacement device has now developed the same fault, which progressed in the same way as the first device.
Just got off of the phone with Google support, and my second replacement is now on it's way.
Fingers crossed for 3rd time lucky.
Same thing...
This has started to happen to me -_- replacement is on its way. Doesn't seem like the problem is being fixed more or less just addressed...

Sadly they don't think the Pixel c is important enough but least the RMA is straight forward.

Ditto here. Just received "refurbished" (was actually new--factory wrap, unopened) replacement unit two days ago. Had my initial Pixel C about 10 months with zero issues. Then, a couple weeks ago, touch responsive became spotty, typically cured by putting tablet to sleep and waking. Progressively got worse until no touch response whatsoever. Physical buttons worked fine. Factory reset, tried flashing prior OS versions, etc. Nothing worked. Stock / unrooted.
But, Google customer service was very cool about the replacement.
How were everyone able to contact Google Support? I have the same problems with the touch screen, but am not able to find a way to contact Google about it. I had bought mine straight from Google Store.

I had the same problem after an OTA Security update yesterday. Booting into recovery and erasing cache fixed it for some time, then problem reappeared. Can be fixed by repeating the procedure. Seems a software problem to me.
Same problem. I can't even get it unlocked now as nothing registers.

I guess this is just a hardware issue because it happened to me twice and both times Google provided me with a new tablet. The only advice I can give you is to contact the support because in my opinion nothing can be done at our individual level...
Will they still replace out of warranty? Purchased Dec 21, 15. Tablet had been flawless until yesterday.

Hmmm I highly doubt it, but you can give it a try. Did you try to factory reset yet, just in case?
Yes, initiallyit was slightly working as of Wednesday and I factory reset. No change, but it registers no touches now so I can't even unlock it.
Google is getting me a replacement so I thank them greatly for that.

yeah, google did the right thing by shipping a replacement, bill3508. i just hope whatever hit your device is isolated.
2 issues I've come across lately with my Pixel C tablet:
1. Touchscreen unresponsive
The tablet has lost touchscreen responsiveness. When I touch the screen, nothing happens. Buttons pressing ok - it works.
I have connected the device to the PC by Vysor app. Using a mouse from PC I can manage. I tried diagnostics in programming options (I've turned on show touches on touchscreen and localization of the pointer) but no touches detected however mouse moves yes.
Rebooting didn't help - many trials. Safe mode neither.
I haven't done a full recovery to factory settings yet. I am afraid of loosing USB debugging mode. Looking foreward to finding software resolution before warranty replacement.
2. Power button doesn't light up the screen - possibly backlight fault (software?)
After few trials with power button the screen shows up. Sometimes I try reboot but the problem returns. It is randomly, sometimes after one pressing power buton, sometimes lastlky after few trials withe few rebooting.
When I put the tablet on light (a lamp or sunshine throug window) I can see the view of the screen darkly. So there is the view but without brightness.
Android 7.1.2, N2G47D
I have the same problem now.. However I've noticed the following: When the device is in the case which covers the screen and has a magnet, the problem will persist. If removed from the case and left for a day outside, the problem is gone (so far at least). I will return the device for a replacement and hope google can replicate the issue. Anyone else using a case with a magnet?
Yes I have the same problem and also a magnet case. But for me the problem is not gone, after removed from the case and left for a day outside .
Now I get a replacement from google.
Should I now no longer use a case with magnet? Is the case the reason for a broken pixel c?
Yes my fingerprint scanner has stopped working altogether after getting my motherboard replaced by lenovo authorised service center.when i approached them about it they fixed it temporarily for a week at the maximum but then again the fingerprint stopped working altogether.then i then got extremely angry about it ( cause the service center is too far from my house and i travel by bus).this is dissapointing at the least as an authorised service center does this to you .This was my first experience with lenovo authorised service center and it will be the last one.does anyone know how to fix this issue or should i have to change the existing fingerprint scanner.
Don't bother to change it. Some models, like mine, have this issue. The fingerprint itself is not broken, is temporarily not working. This time can vary from days to months. Mine is now not working since 1 month.
I do not rely on it anymore. I would say that this is the only back stain of this phone.
You can google it for yourself, unfortunately is quite a common issue.

The problem started after I got my motherboard changed and that too by official lenov guys.I am suffering without a fingerprint for almost 9 months and have to use password Everytime .
Found the fix to the problem .I just installed havoc os 3.1 28 the Jan update and voila fingerprint started working.man I'm so happy .all these days I was blaming Lenovo officials although it actually had stopped working after I got my motherboard changed.

I guess i got it fixed .I literally put sanitizer on my fingerprint scanner and voila it started working.Dont ask me why I used sanitizer,I just saw it lying on my desk(corona virus effect) and thought why not use it.try this once maybe it might work for you.you need to rub all over your fingerprint scanner.
Hi guys,
I bought my Mi 9SE some months ago. Everything was good, but since like two months ago my phone signal dropped to 0. The phone was unable to connect, and it wasn't a problem of APN or SIM because i tried another SIMs and the problem persists. Suddendly, one day the signal started to work again a few hours, and then go off again. Sometimes it works for days, even a week, and then drop to 0 again hours or days. But after that, Wifi started to malfunction too, like it was forcibly disabled. I can't start wifi, and if i try the phone freezes a few seconds.
The weird thing is that those two problems happens like randomly: for example, if i keep the phone on standby for a few hours, wifi start to work again, but if i use it again, it fails again after some use. Same goes to phone signal, some days it works and the suddendly stop functionaning.
I sended to Xiaomi already and they send it back to me because they coulnd't find a problem (Because the problem just happens randomly i suppose).
I don't know what to do, so i'm thinking on unlock bootloader and install a rom. What do you think? I will put here two videos of my phone that shows the problem:
https://drive.google.com/open?id=1gY8FqJWV_RwDR2u-KQHYU-pHt2d6yEXa
Thanks.
Hi,
I would suggest to try a different ROM. The wifi issue you have (saw the video) is generally related to wifi drivers. Now i can't say why your driver is malfunctioning without logs, especially for a stock ROM...
Good luck!
@ch4mi: wouldn't do so, because it seems to be a hardware problem and with unlocked BL you open an escape door denying service. Maybe it's caused by an antenna loosing connection by temperature. So switch it off overnight for a definite begin state, boot and look, whether the bug occurs after a certain time. Repeat it 2times. Then send it back to service with this information.
Thanks for your replys people!
I don't know if i can trust with Xiaomi Service. I already sended it like i said, and they said to me that the phone was perfect, and charged me 25€ for shipping costs... I writted to them again saying that the phone was still malfunctionating, but the only said to me that they will proceed like always, check phone and if they don't find any issue, i will pay again 25€ for shipping costs... That's why i'm thinking of change ROM.
@ch4mi: the shipping costs are mean indeed. I hoped they would be willing to repair - then such a clue would have been usefull.
Ok guys, i will send it to the Xiaomi service again, with some videos proving the issues. Thanks for your tips!
Hi there,
A few days ago my fingerprint scanner just stopt working.
So does anyone know what is going on and if I can repare this problem easily?
*#*#64663#*#* use this code to test the fingerprint hardware.
Input it in the dial in the phone app.
I had the same issue for quite awhile, a factory reset seemed to have sorted the issue but it started to be hit and miss again not long after. I've replaced it with the X3 Pro now so don't know if it's returned full time.
Oh, maybe just take it in for repair and see what their opinion on it is.
Is actually very easy to replace the FP scanber in this device and AliExpress has the part for sale
Best get it repaired at an authorized dealer....
Unless getting fake stuff from aliexpress :/
Please help me to solve this issue.
Try this step again, Go to Settings > About Phone > All specs, tap kernel version many times, test fingerprint sensor. Visit the service center if the test fails or install android 11 new version.
I'm sure this is a software problem. I've never been this careful with a phone in my life and I also have the same problem. Unless the update somehow tucked with the motherboard idk. But my best option is to wait for another update to roll out

I bought this phone and after some months i faced this stupid issue too. I've been very careful but had to send the phone to a service center. They said that they changed the fingerptint sensor. Since then no more fingerprint issues...
Same thing with me, it was hardware. After only 6 months of use, I had to send it to a repair service under warranty. So far I had no issues with the sensor.
same here, fingerprint sensor is missing from menus. I will send it to a repair service.
Well it seems the only solution is to send to repair and i think warranty will cover that.. Seems like factory problem :/
But I don't care anymore, since if i send it, it would take maybe 1-2 months, so during that period i would be without phone..
Possible fingerprint sensor flex cable damage. Try restarting your phone while gently pressing around finger print sensor.
this is not a software issiue i have the same issiue and i changed the sensor 7 months later it still works great
I was also careful with my phone and after 3 months of buying it, the fingerprint unlock option disappeared. I couldn't find any solution and tried everything I could. In the end, I took it to a repair shop and they told me that the cable connecting the fingerprint sensor to the motherboard was damaged. They said it was due to a design flaw by Xiaomi. I would recommend you doing the same thing if the rest of things dont work.
The same problem started for me. I had used it very carefully until this time. As you mentioned, it seems to be a chronic problem. When I did some research, many people mentioned that it was fixed with a software update. My sensor disappeared a few days after the last security patch. It could be a coincidence, of course. For now, I am waiting for the upcoming MIUI 14 update instead of sending it to any service. I hope it solves the problem or I will probably send it to the service.

Unfortunaly its hardware problem bro. Button needs replacement , and there is no guarantee how much time will work even replaced. I hate to send to official repair shop, as it will takes weeks, and i have no spare phone. So i just use double tap to turn on the screen aswell to turn off the screen on display
..
