Hi all! Hope that you can help me fix my problem.
i honestly don't know what the issue can be other than the security update which came in the first week of january 2020. i have been using my samsung a50 as a mobile hotspot since i got it in may 2019 (wired or wireless) it always worked flawlessly, but since the update in january it doesn't work. first i thought it might be the cable, so i switched to wireless, nothing changed. bought a new cable, still doesn't work. factory restore, doesn't work. reinstalled windows, doesn't work. i've literally tried every single thing i can think of and i can't seem to fix it.
To make things even stranger, my data (4g+) works flawlessly everytime the mobile hotspot isn't turned on. As soon as i turn it on the mobile data stops working. I've also checked with my service provider and they said that everything is ok and that i don't have any restrictions and that there's no issues on their end of the service.
has anyone else encountered this issue before or has anyone else had this problem in 2020 after the security update? cause honestly, the security update is the only thing which has changed for me...
thanks in advance.
Have you tried another SIM card on the same carrier or/and on some other carrier?
I have the same issue, did you manage to get it working?

Anyone facing this issue
Does anyone know any fix
Yes mines the same, wifi works fine for a short amount of time then disconnects, after it cuts out goto wifi settings and all I see is scanning and no wifi devices. only way I can get wifi working again is a reboot but then I get disconnecting again after short period of time!
EDIT: I would just like to add until I updated to nougat yesterday I've never experienced this issue and I did a master reset straight after installing nougat.
I am having this same problem. Any fix for this?
Same thing here. It happened to me after the first night. I thought maybe something was corrupted after the upgrade, so I did a full factory reset yesterday morning. Everything worked fine until I got up this morning. Looks like something over the course of the night causes this to start.
Things I've tried without success:
- factory reset
- rebooting
- removing and re-adding wifi network
- tested all other devices in the house (no other device is having an issue)
- tried both 2.4 and 5ghz networks (issue is affecting both)
UPDATE: After a few hours, I turned wifi back on yesterday, and it's been working fine since. I made no changes to the phone.
Faced same problem with developer preview
Before the official release of Android 7.0 I installed two Android beta preview, 3 and 5, and had the same issue I uninstalled the previews and had no problems with version 6.1. I hoped that this would be fixed with the official version but It wasn't, Im still facing the same problems with wifi disconnecting.
Edit: When I had the previews the only way that the phone would seem to remain connected was to go into the router options and change the client lease time. I never fully tested this because I uninstalled the previews within a couple of days. I guess I'm going to have to test it this time.

Maybe this thread could help you guys, didn't try, and as it is for nexus 5, do every operation carefully.
Flashed back to 6 as the WiFi issue was unbearable, working perfectly fine again now. I was also getting major battery drain on 7.0.
Hi
I found a strange solution working for me. I had bluetooth disabled, since I have enabled bluetooth today, 5 GHz connection is stable - Pls test it and update. And pls don't ask me, why these two protocols are in any way related...

Didn't work for me.
This problem had disappeared for weeks and then started rearing its head again yesterday although I had made no changes to my phone. For the record, it's happening on both frequencies for me.
Last time, the issue magically disappeared. After it didn't go away over night, I restarted my router this morning, and now it's working fine.
To clarify, I don't think it's router related, though. I have an R7000 that's working perfectly with all other phones and other devices in the house. It's the same router the 5x was connected to before Nougat started causing these issues.
Apparantly 7.1 solves the issue
Sent from my Pixel XL using XDA-Developers mobile app
I searched all over the place, tried some fixes, but nothing has worked so far. Most threads with this issue die before any solution is presented. I tried the solution posed by jsheesch at https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!msg/phone-by-google/RNDSr05hUQ4/SOUFb2LzAQAJ , and that allowed me to send mms while on WIFI. A later post by him states that that fix causes other network problems later. I've tried factory resetting, didn't work, and the issue has persisted with each update this phone has received 8.0, 8.1 DP, and the November security patch 8.0. I'm using a new sim card from T-Mobile. screenshots of APN settings would be helpful as well. Quite a few threads on this issue seem to die with someone asking that question.

Thank you. That's what mine defaulted to. I figured out it's a problem with my router or certain routers that I connect to. I have a netduma router and if I turn off turbo mode I can send and receive mms but my bandwidth gets cut in half.
Do you have wifi calling enabled? I couldn't send any texts over wifi until I enabled this.
No problems here on 8.0 using the November update!
Have been using AA past 6 month it's was flawless post April update it got broken treid with several cables . No help even reseted mobile to factory settings and tried with only ANDROID auto app installed no use. Also tried resetting the car unit still android auto not launching was able to charge only mobile
work fine for me with april update
Having the same issue with my Pixel 2 since the June update. Have tried everything except resetting the phone and nothing works.
I've had this same issue since last Sunday, after taking June update on Saturday. It had worked fine up to that point as well.
I've downgraded AA, tried multiple cables, USB debug on/off, manually swapping USB configuration and a factory reset. Stock Rom, no mods either.
Same result every time, as though the head unit doesn't recognize the USB connection. Oddly, I'm still getting battery charging with the connection though.
Head unit recognizes other devices immediately too.
Anyone have any luck getting this resolved?
Hi! my google pixel xl worked perfect until yesterday where then at work the Wi-Fi network stopped working, just trying to connect and it was "Saved" or "Disconnected" probe in the network 5.8 and 2.4 and in the same way. Ultimately restart the factory phone and follow the fault, how can I solve it.
any ideas?
This seems to be a very rare problem, i only seen 1 case of it before. Did you try for example going to the store and connecting to their wifi? If it works try resetting your router. Did you drop your phone in any substances?
The problem was solved, since I could notice that it contacts me to other networks, I notified this to the company that provides me with internet services and it was their problem. Just a restart from the company to make it work normally again
I have the same problem, and I have already did everything from the side of ISP. Even with factory reset the problem still persists. For me the problem was there from when I first got the phone and so I got Google to replace it with a new phone, and the problem continued in until update of Android 8.2 after that it was fixed and then came back with update to Android 9.0 and then fixed cuz of update Android 9.1 and was fixed all throughout until December 2019 when I got the last/(end of support) security patch. After that last patch the problem has just been really bad.
Since April my download speed went from 200-1000mbps to 1-5mbps...
Only thing i could manage to get it back to work is a network reset in the connections settings which resets wifi and bluetooth as well. This doesn't seem to work all the time tho.
A friend ans his wife has the same problem with the same phone. Our sim in other mobiles are working tho.
We are on a stock rom. Before April everything was fine. Anyone had this happening and has a fix for it? It's super annoying as nothing want to load super responsive...
thanks for your help!
