Hello, so I decided that I will compile my own custom for this phone, ExtendedUI and while repo sync was checking out files my PC crashed and I wonder if it's possible to save it (go back to checking out files) or not. I read that it's possible to save it by removing everything except .repo folder. Is that true?

I have many files in the \Windows\StartUp folder :
- aPerSaveStar
- cPerSaveStar
- nPerSaveStar
- tPerSaveStar
Somebody knows the purpose of this files ?, thanks
Bdo
I think these file take care of the synchronizing contacts, agenda, connections and tasks after a soft-reset. When you use the Permanent Save function in start-settings-system, the items you select are saved in the storage to keep them safe for a hard reset. After a soft reset, the data are taken fromt there to synchronize with your latest additions.
I think you'll find these are the applications which make it possible to store and load appointments, contacts, tasks, connection settings from the flash disk so that they survive a hard reset.
Pope is correct, these files are the ones used for permanent save.
If you don't use this feature then you can delete them from the startup folder and save a few running processes on you XDA.
They are part of the ROM, so if you do a hard reset, they will reappear.
Hi all,
I have found a way to remove the main Windows Live account associated with the phone and insert another one without having to Hard-Reset the device.
Removing the main WL account might be indicated in the following conditions:
Improper Region Selected with Your Account
Switching between 2 Windows Live accounts
Problem with Contact Sync through Windows Live
Problem with Contacts stored locally on phone
Requirement:
Dev-Unlocked Windows Phone
WP7 Root Tools
Procedure:
Goto WP7 Root Tools or any other file explorer on the device
Navigate to \Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook\Stores\DeviceStore\
Rename store.vol to store.vol.txt (or anything else) - can be used as a backup
Restart the phone
WP might indicate that there was a problem with updating and all your messages, contacts and accounts data have been removed.
Now you can manually add them again.
Please note that, all your stored emails, messages, locally stored contacts and other data associated with your setup accounts will be erased from the device (can backup by restoring store.vol.txt to store.vol). Make sure you sync your contacts before proceeding with this.
Were you able to use the existing installed apps and update them without any issues ?
Also note that it's possible to open the contact and messaging database (store.vol) with software an merge it into the new one. That's what the SMS backup app does when restoring, for example.
Is it possible to sync progress I make on my note to with my install on my tablet? I'm signed via google... You'd think they'd sync. No?
Nevermind. It's syncing now.
Its works between two android device with G+ login.
BUT is there a way to sync IOS and Android ?
I've foind the IOS savegame http://kotaku.com/how-to-sync-plants-vs-zombies-2-saves-across-multiple-1167621100
Where is the Android savegame ?
SDCARD/DATA/com.ea.game.pvz2_row/
last we have to find the file to ptu the same savegame or id.
There's no way to sync between Google+ and iOS, since this last one uses iCloud. There are some minor apps that allow you though to use facebook or even an email account, but that's not the case for PVZ2. Beware that a lot of times the google+ savegame sync does not work, so if you uninstall a game without having a backup you risk to start from the beginning after you reinstall it. Google+ cloud saves are far from mature.
Seems like your problem is solved, but on a related note:
I didn't sign in with Google+ (don't have an account and don't want one), but I copied the entire com.ea.game.pvz2_row directory to my hdd before flashing and performing a factory reset. Now I reinstalled the game and copied the old folder to android/data but it does not accept my progress at all. I tried clearing the cache, deleting data and again the same result..
I really don't want to start all over again, does anybody have a solution for this problem?
I noticed that you get assigned a player ID when you first start the program, so maybe there is a way here?
Thanks in advance!
It seems that pvz2 always creates a new profile after first installation, but if you go to profile manager you can see the other account there.

Well in my case there i second profile after I copy the old folder onto the device, but the name of the profile is blank and when i select it, the game starts from level 1. so somehow my backup does not work, no luck restoring it. i guess this is it, i won't start from scratch again... very very annoying

Plants VS Zombies 2 Sync Between Android
All the devices I have done this on so far have been rooted. The process is quite simple.
Extract and place the obb in the obb folder first. Sdcard0/android/obb/com.ea.game.pvz2_row/
From the originating device (or download) locate the pp.dat file in the folder SDCARD/DATA/com.ea.game.pvz2_row/FILES/NO_BACKUP
Make it available for transfer.
Next, on the target device backup or zip up the contents of SDCARD/DATA/com.ea.game.pvz2_row/
and delete everything all files except the path SDCARD/DATA/com.ea.game.pvz2_row/FILES/NO_BACKUP
Then paste the pp.dat file in that folder on the target device. It should be the only file in the directory.
Then execute the game. Again it may not work for everyone. Please backup your files before you delete them.
This worked for me. Thank you.

THANK YOU! This is the only thing that worked for me to transfer from my wife's old fire tablet 7 to her new fire 8
Dear all,
I have been using RMN5 for a while and this is the most f**cking annoying error in this phone (or MIUI's error - i got it in my LG F180L running MIUI7 a long time ago and it happened too)
Every time i connected the phone to PC, i got this problem, I've followed the tips on XDA about disable media storage and download (force stop only in RMN5) and reboot, ok it fixed for a while, but not for long, next time i connect, it happen AGAIN.
I'm so tired of this sh*t and want to get rid of it.
Please, somebody please show me the way.
Thank you
Don't disable those apps instead go to the app settings media storage and download and clear both cache and data, hopes this will solve the problem and move this post to question and answer thread. It belongs there.
you disabled critical system app and complained why you get error messages
This is the Android Media Scanner, looking for files to index on your storage.
Some options are:
Try creating a file called '.nomedia' in every folder, and the problem should dissapear. In that case you may have a corrupted file somewhere, so try to delete the .nomedia file in some of the suspected folders to see if the problem comes back (or google something like 'android.process.media .nomedia' for a better explanation or solution.
You can also enable debuggind (via developer options), to inspect the problem with adb logcat, or to install a logcat related app from Play Store, in case the dump that should appear at the time of the error contains some hint.

I'm having this issue after updating my Samsung GT-N8013 to lineageos 16.0. When you say to put a .nomedia file in every folder, do you litterally mean every single folder on both the tablet and sd card or a certain level of folder?

The .nomedia flag file will stop the scan in the directory it's placed and all of the directories contained in it.
I ended up reinstalling the the OS 16.0 rom for my Samsung N8013. It took a total of running the installation 3 times but it finally became stable.
With google photos free unlimited storage going away, I figure it is time to resurrect my old Pixel phone.
What's a good workflow/setup to be able to send photos to the phone to get uploaded?
I figure I can leave it plugged in and connected to WIFI. Have a samba share available that I can just dump photos into and then have it auto upload.
Did you ever end up setting up some workflow? I'm looking as well
Hi, I am running Syncthing on PC, Pixel and my primary phone.
On my primary phone the camera folder is marked as read only. So after I take a photo on my primary phone it uploads to Pixel -> and uploads to Google Photos. From time to time I run storage cleanup on the Pixel that deletes all uploaded photos from local storage but because of the syncthing settings won't delete photos on primary phone.
Btw it works nice in a way that Google Photos on my primary phone notice these files are uploaded on the servers so I can write comments, move into folders etc etc like it was uploaded from my primary phone.
I also have another folder "upload" that is synced between Pixel and PC that I use to upload photos from other sources (DSLR). This one is configured as two way sync so after it uploads and I run cleanup on Pixel it also deletes files in the folder in PC.
Did you figure out how to get it to backup all folders without asking if you want to add new folders?
I worked around this - in Total Commander I run command to show all files from subfolders (control+B) and then I copied all those files to one folder. Majority of files were copied OK but I had some files with already existing filename. For them Total Commander asked what to do (skip/rewrite..) under advanced was one option to automatically rename to filename(2...3...)....so i did this
