All I can say is press a little to the left of the keyboard symbol. You may need to use your nail to carefully tap the very left side of that keyboard symbol.
thanks mate. it works. fantastic. don´t know, why it didn´t work until now...

I myself got this issue as well. What worked for me is if I press the bottom most of the keyboard icon to get it to close. I pretty much have to press so far down I'm partially touching the middle of the zoom slider. That's what made it work for me.....

Also pressing the bottom of it works for me, I'm pretty much pressing the middle of the zoom slider but it closed. Strange.
I've been reading a lot of posts about people having issues with not having arrow keys on the new Gingerbread keyboard. To access the arrow keys all you have to do is press and hold the Space bar and flick your finger up. and the arrow keys will appear on there own row at the bottom of the keyboard. Hope this helps!!
Arrow Keys on Keyboard
When I first read this post I was super excited since this is one thing I really miss from HTC Sense. I have tried to hold the space key and flick my finger up but no arrow keys
Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks! I was about to purchase the full keyboard from the market until I googled "gingerbread keyboard arrow keys" and found this post.
Big Shout out!
Does anybody know how to enable the onscreen menu buttons? For example, in chrome on the Galaxy Nexus the menu button is shown as 3 dots in the upper right hand corner. The actual menu button on the Galaxy Note 2 is so hard to hit using one hand but the on screen one is so easy.
Try this:

Thank you but that's not quite what I'm looking for. That thread shows how to add the on screen buttons on the bottom. I don't want the onscreen buttons, I just want the menu button that appears in the apps in the top right corner.
EDIT: I figured it out, I'm going to update the OP.

Has anyone figured out how to enable the 3 dot vertical menu button on the Verizon Galaxy Note 2? I had CM10 on my S3 and its driving me nuts not having it on the Note 2! Any input would GREATLY be appreciated!
So just wondering if it's possible to make all menus open in the bottom or bottom left corner. Example, when I press my menu key in Gmail the menu opens at the top right of the screen where it's hard to reach during one handed use. I'd like all my menus to open bottom left so I can use my phone with one hand. I've tried hybrid settings but both phone/phablet modes don't seem to change that behavior.
Thanks

Personally I have never seen a menu open anywhere else other than the top right, with a few rare exceptions. Hopefully someone else has more knowledge on this to help you.
Any suggestions for moving the navbar softkey back button to the right on the Mate 20x? Am used to the back button on the left after Samsung phones and the back button on the left is probably easier with one (right) handed use of the Mate 20x.
Guess the other option is to use a swipe left gesture for the back button but Nova Launcher Prime doesn't support this.
Thanks!
