Hello guys, I'm a greenhand on XDA, English and Mobile-dev, so please forgive any of my stupid words if I do have said in the bellowing description.
Yesterday, I joined the Samsung Bada Developers' Day, and got an unpublished Bada phone, it's GT-S7250 (Wave M). The problem is , I found I don't know how to install apps on it .
At first, I tried the built-in app market client, but strangely, I can only found some test apps on it, I guess that 's because the app market server still can't recognize this phone type yet.
Then, I use Samsung Kies on my PC, wish I could send apps to my phone after downloading them with Kies, but unfortunately, still doesn't work, cause it always prompts that the device is not supported.
So, could anyone provides my any idea to bypass all these limitations ? Thanks.
PS: I have do some monitoring work on Kies, and seems that there no validation requests to the server, and thus I think there might be a configuration file on the local disk, containing the supported devices's info, and if we can find and hack it, perhaps we could bypass the limitation.
what display resolution does your device have?
maybe you could ask larioteo for a copy of his app, he has found a method to install one app without kies, but he's only developing in 800*480 resolution
Can you show us the FW code read by kies???
i want to see if i can get the FW you have right now
About hacking kies...i think your phone is HVGA device so you can't install apps that are in kies right now
Wait until larioteo is back from his work to see what we can do about it
maybe we take you as a tester because you know chinese and we don't have chinese localization
Best Regards

Thanks for your reply, as @mylove90 said, the screen is HVGA, 480x320.
I will dig into larioteo 's posts while waiting for his reply.
Acutally, I have found the downloaded app files on my PC, the path is
C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\My Documents\Samsung\Kies\Download\Applications, under this folder, I have found the *.app files, together with the corresponding *.app.img file each. I guess these are the app files I need, but to my disappoint ,when I copy these files onto my phone, I can't install them, it prompts unknown file type.

Hi, mylove90, thanks for your reply.
To be honest , I don't quite understand what do you mean by "FW code", this is the first time I met this abbreviation, I guess you mean the "FirmWare code", right ? If so , Kies shows the firmware version is : S7250XXKI8/S7250XAKI8(XXX) , Hope this is what we need to find.
As to become a tester, I have to say that I'm REALLY REALLY glad to do that, it's an great honor for me that I can do something for possibly all Bada users as my feedback to the community.
And I also had a look at larioteo's post about the voluntas browser, hope I can do somthing for it.
Thank you again,
Best Regards.

Thank you for info.
Firmware seems from September... XXX seems Product Code...
About install Apps... as handset is "new" (different Resolution)...
But you could play with bada 2.0 SDK to install few examples...
Maybe be carefully, as it is an prototype and as I know no Firmware is leaked, to fix problems...
Best Regards
I found something, if i wanted to search "S7250XXKI8". There is http://www.badaforums.net/forums/bada2/bada-dev-day-2011-t4913.html discussion on badaforums about Wave M.
Oh Samsung is so evil
XXX is invalid product code for kies updates
you get XXX product code is you damaged your original one
they know that we already got kies firmwares for sure
Best Regards
Hello there i am see left
XXX is not invalid it is the "Default Code", the main product code for all devices, only test devices gets this code, it is the ultimative update everything code.
As i know it from slyfer my tool to watch their server XXX was always the first code that got an open europe firmware, than the others get an upadte like DBT, OXA OXB OXC OXD OXE OXG after that the providers pick another of that and make something liket his VIA DRE and so on.
For more infos you need only to ask.
Picture in 5 minuetes: (also with other codes that you believe me )
note: yes the server changed but not the codes
larioteo know the best, but probably you can't install any apps that already launched. I mean, you can't install the apps that downloaded with Kies. but you can install an app that under development via Bada SDK 2.0 or larioteo's method. I hope I didn't make things worse for you.
Root Cert method via BADA SDK
If you just want to install your own apps on your wave M, ask Laoriteo about the root cert method via BADA SDK.
Really appreciate all you guys very very much, thank you for you kindly replies to my first thread on XDA.
According to your opinions, seems that there isn't much I can do with this problem. Perhaps I can only wait for the publication of this phone type, maybe till that time I will be able to use the built-in Samsung app market client. Or perhaps some hackers may jailbreak Bada, so that we can directly install any apps.
Then, I will be aiming at Bada app development, because I really feel the lack of apps on Bada, especially under the condition that I can't install any apps on this phone now.
Thank you,everyone!

Maybe you see then Firmware for your handset...
Maybe Apps...

Hi everyone! I'm new to this forum.
I bought the Zuk Z2 (standard) from Oppomart and everything is fine, except for one thing. I installed the Malwarebytes app, which found 1 malware/trojan named: "Android/Trojan.Spy.Smforw.l". It can be found in /system/priv-app/Liulangbao/Liulangbao.apk.
I'm pretty new to Chinese phones, and with help from the ZUI OS 1.9.044 ROM posted on this forum (along with an explanation of how to flash it) I managed to flash the original ROM (which turned out identical to the ROM from Oppomart). Sadly, it still contained the aforementioned malware.
Then I tried removing this app/malware with several apps from the Google Play Store, which didn't work (they need root access).
I found an explanation of how to root my Zuk Z2 via http://androiding.how/root-zuk-z2-and-z2-pro-install-twrp-recovery/. That website mentioned XDA as well: http://forum.xda-developers.com/zuk...andard-pro-t3415395/post67680272#post67680272.
Do you reckon this is a trusted method? I have never rooted a phone before (it was quite an achievement for me to even flash a "new" ROM). Will I be at risk of bricking the phone?
My questions to you are: is this app/malware very hazardous? What does it do? Is my phone safe to use? What is the easiest way to delete it? Or should I try a completely different approach to this problem?
Thanks in advance for your help and please let me know if you need additional information!

Google tells me that liulangbao is a traffic exchange bot, similar to Jingling(this is for PC), people use it to exchange "visits" on others website(most of them are ad to make cash) with their own visit to others in background, it will for so use resources, internet data, and maybe install other viruses through malware-sites. I think you can delete that app just rooting your device, installing lucky patcher and if it finds that app in system you can directly uninstall it. Otherwise use root, and an root explorer to find that .apk and delete it.
However you'll need to root your device in any way.
That web-site seems legit, it publics various root methods for multiple devices, and it's well organized.
Give it a shot, being rooted is better than botted

Thank you very much KronozFX for your advice! I may give that a shot. Do you think the risk of bricking the phone is high using this rooting method?
Does anyone else have advice?

Sure, no worries. It's actually not my phone as I bought it for the missus. She likes the phone a lot (coming from a Huawei Ascend P7), let me break it down in the pros and cons she has encountered.
Pros:
- It's very quick
- It snaps photos right the instance you press the button (no delays)
- Picture quality is good (although we both aren't too critical)
- Good battery life. It lasts a lot longer than her previous phone (on lollipop with a 2500 mAh battery which she often had to connect to a powerbank during the day)
- The fingerprint scanner is a treat. It works every time and quickly as well (you don't have to wake the phone/screen before the scanner works)
- The size of the phone. She would have preferred an even smaller device, but there's no real contender in the sub 5" category.
- Premium look and feel
Cons:
- Still some Chinese although language is set to English (e.g. the weather app which is embedded in the homescreen)
- Some apps won't work (properly). For example Twilight (the app that filters blue light) crashes immediately when opened and the phone won't receive messages in WhatsApp if the app isn't opened (and locked via recent apps). So she had to choose a different blue light filter app and she needs to constantly have WhatsApp opened.
- No Dutch (which isn't too big of an issue for her)
I hope this was of help to you!
Hi!
If you don't want root your device then you can install a firewall app and block that Liulangbao app.
Also here is a comprehensive thread about Liulangbao: http://zukfans.eu/community/threads/liulangbao.304/

Hi you should consider to unlock bootloader, then find a chinese forum, because huawei and honor is a common brand to them. I find usefull info on their forum regarding this brand. But you need to use web translator. After you got the info, please share on xda forum so the others can use it.
Unlock bootloader (probably Not possible because ist Huawei)
Get boot.img, Patch ist via magisk, Boot the Patched Image, direct Install from magisk.
But since its Huawei you probably will Not get root
Hello,
I'm a little stuck on how to install a custom rom on my RN8 Pro after rooting and wondered if someone could answer my questions / explain certain points in a simpler way that some of the guides in this forum. Ideally I'd like it explained as if you were trying to guide a 5 year old - I say this as the was an XDA guide exactly like this for my last phone which was fantastic and had no ambiguity.
I'm currently on:
- chinese rom
- MIUI11.0.3.0.QGGCNXM stable 2.0G
- Android 9
I believe all steps for unlocking the bootloader and rooting are complete. I followed the steps in THE ORIGINAL POST of this guide (I don't think the rest of the posts in that thread are relevant but not sure): https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-8-pro/how-to/guide-unlock-bootloader-flash-twrp-root-t3995919. Everything seems to work as detailed and Magisk Manager was installed though I've done nothing with this and not sure if I need to. Is this correct?
I'd like to install Lineage so, following a link from another thread in this forum, I've downloaded "lineage-17.1-20200607-UNOFFICIAL-treble_arm64_avN.img.XZ". Is this correct or should I be looking for a ZIP? If so, where?
Assuming the above .XZ file is correct (or after I get the correct file from somewhere), what are the exact steps I need to follow to actually install the rom? I've read things referencing Dalvik cache, clearing certain things, etc but I'm really unclear on this bit and still not sure on the install process. I thought the mega thread would help but there's so much info there I'm even less sure what's applicable or not after reading it. I assume the TWRP I installed in the guide I followed above is used (or maybe an updated version?) but I'm hugely confused over the precise steps to take - the guides seem very detailed on unlocking / rooting but too brief (for me) on rom install. This is the point I would really like explained as if it were to a 5 year old please, along with any followup steps required.
I'm also unsure on the steps required for a backup in case things go wrong. Again, the various threads appear to have different methods depending on what version of TWRP you have installed (I think this is true, as I said I'm confused after a certain point). Maybe the points I did in the guide I followed covered this but I'm doubting it.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated - the chinese rom is driving me nuts and I'm really keen to move from it.
Thank you
you miui build is android 10 based (check the "Q" after the version number), so recheck the threads just in case.
Thank you for the reply but I dont understand. I've gone into all specs at it says:
Device name: Redmi
Device model: Redmi Note 8 Pro
MIUI version: MIUI 11.0.4 | Stable | 11.0.4.0(PGGCNXM)
Android version: 9
Android security patch level: 19/12/01
Are you saying the Android version is 9 but the MIUI is based on 10? If so that confuses me even more. There is a MIUI update pending (it's been wanting to update for a while) but I've held off installing it.
If you are correct and I need to downgrade (I think that's what you're saying?) then I'm pretty sure I understand how to achieve that part. It's the actual installing of the rom where I'm confused. For example, is the IMG.XZ the correct file type? Exactly what do I do to install it? Etc. The guides here spend a lot of time on the unlocking part - which for Xiaomi phones is a pain so understandable. It appears to me a bit less detailed on the rom install - likely because people on this site may have done this many times before. That's the bit I;m querying and unfamiliar with so any links to step-by-step guides (particularly for Lineage) after rooting would be helpful.
Thanks again for your response
hey man, check your first post, the miui version number (MIUI11.0.3.0.QGGCNXM), it says it's an android q (10). i've just wanted to tell you to be careful and eventually not brick your device, that's all
Thanks for the reply - I really appreciate it.
Bricking it is the last thing I want to do
I'll re-read the other threads (3rd time) but i'm not hopeful that I'll be able get anything more out of it than I already have. I think i've understood a fair bit of it (up to unlocking) but just can't seem to find a step by step guide for the rom.
Hopefully someone else will be able to chip in with some advice and thanks for what you've offered so far.
Thanks

1. If you don't have Samsung Health Monitor (SHM) present on your watch as default app, you can get ECG and BP working with Indian CSC without any system modification simply by installing 3 apks (modified SHM, ECG and BP).
2. However, if you have SHM already installed as a system app on your watch (from Samsung firmware), then you can only get ECG working with the modified SHM apk and the ECG tpk method. The system app won't allow the BP to work (it's locked out by Samsung). You now have 2 options:
A. Use the alternate method detailed by @Dante63 in his thread (involves seting up a java environment on your PC, and using Tizen studio to sign your own apps)
OR
B. Change CSC on your watch to mimic a watch bought in countries where SPay, BP, ECG etc are officially unlocked by Samsung.
I've used the method in B and Changed CSC to ZTO (Brazil) and everything is working fine in India (I live in Chennai)
All this is much easier if you have a Samsung phone, but still do-able with other brand phones.
This thread by @Dante63 has all the information you need for getting ECG and BP working without modifying CSC: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...-restriction-removed-11th-april-2021.4202685/
For changing CSC, follow the instructions in TechnoProz's video on YouTube:
You can choose to buy combination firmware and stock firmware files from the internet, or use files uploaded by @adfree and @Nmc_alves® on this thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/firmware-r820-r830.4161883/
Just make sure to double and triple check your watch model number, and your firmware and Tizen version carefully before proceeding because a bad flash can potentially ruin your day and although recoverable, it's a pain to get USB Odin working on a watch.
I will also add that if you want Samsung Pay to work, and you do not have a Samsung Phone, running stock ROM, you will need:
Install Magisk (root/superuser access)
And then will need to:
check you pass SafetyNet (you might want this to test, as currently the inbuilt test in Magisk Manager is not working: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.scottyab.safetynet.sample ) Passing SafetyNet can very much be down to the ROM, so you may need to seek help from the ROM thread of the ROM youre using
enable MagiskHide under Magisk Manager Settings
enable MagiskHide for ALL Samsung related packages (Gear/Samsung/Watch Plugins)
enable Hide The Magisk App (call it anything but anything with Magisk in it)
reboot
then try adding card to Samsung Pay
If Samsung Pay even sniffs root you will NOT get Samsung Pay working - as it writes to a database somewhere and you will have to erase data for the Gear/Samsung/Watch Plugin apps and reset the Watch to start over
Im in the middle of doing a write up on how to keep the watch and Samsung Pay working across ROM flashes....i wont throw that on you in this post
p.s. Welcome to Freedom, from being stuck in the Apple cult. You've made it!

While i can maintain the watch connection and Samsung Pay across ROM's (it is just re-using the same Android ID and magisk.db (that stores the magiskhidden packages)), there doesnt seem any way (currently) to maintain BP calibration data ....so i do have to recalibrate that every time
I dont enjoy the cat and mouse at 50

Well, it's either the cat'n'mouse, or the cage.

For better or worse, heres a link to my "keeping your watch connection and Samsung Pay working across ROMs" guide:
Keeping Watch Connection And Samsung Pay Across ROMs
This is currently how i keep my Galaxy Active 2 working - connected and Samsung Pay working - across ROM flashes without having to reset it every time, because resetting sucks Please note: At time of writing theres no known way to keep BP...

Well, before updating my watch to tizen 5.5.0.2 i successful installed bp monitor and then delete it on my own. No i dont have shm on my watch right now. At present when i am trying to follow dante's instructions to install 3 apps.. i get to do it successfully for shm and ecg but i get failed to install message for bp monitor app. Any clue why? I tried 3 apps from different sources multiple times.

Can you please describe what you're doing a little more clearly? Tizen 5.5.2.2 can mean one of many firmwares - DUA3, DUA7, DUD1. Which one are you running?
The SHM app you're installing - is it the phone app or the Watch companion app?
Are you trying to install ECG and BP standalone apps along with the SHM app for the watch? You don't need all three - either install the first 2 or the 3rd one (it has ECG and BP built in)
When I was on DUA3 firmware, I only installed 2 apps:
1. Modified SHM app for the phone (v189)
2. SHM companion app for the watch
This got both ECG and BP working.
After that I have changed CSC to get these apps natively and am on DUD1 firmware, so I'm unable to test for you if Samsung has done something to disable BP in the newer firmware.
