Hi guys,
just bought a refurb unit and was wondering if it's possible to debloat without rooting. IIRC i saw a post claiming that it could be done via ADB, but i can't seem to find it again.
Thanks!
You can buy "Package Disabler Pro-Samsung" from play store
Or read here : https://beebom.com/how-remove-bloatware-android-without-root/

Hey guys, I just got my SU640 today and I'm from the Philippines (if that makes any difference), also I just updated my device to version 10k, I wanna know if it's possible to root my device, there are guides but I'm not yet that confident right now... Can someone point me to the right path? Thanks!
Bt the way im also getting annoyed by the 80 character limit for sms. is there any way around this?
Was able to solve the 80 character limit but still don't know how to root, there are guides but they are not complete or they are for nitro hd and I'm afraid of bricking my phone since I read some people bricked their phones following guides to p930 or nitro hd and using it on their su640...
Anyone? Please help. I tried superoneclick and even tried the zergrush runme.bat but it still doesn't work...
Anyone at all?
The method used in this post should work.

Where did you get 10k and why did you install it instead of 10i or 10f?

From OTA update... I was updating then I read that the root only works until 10i... Is there any way to root my phone now? I need to delete or stop all the Telecom apps, it's killing my bat so fast while running in the background...

I think you meant
http://www.aftvnews.com/start/
and to answer your question, you cannot with that firmware. The best you can do now is the following.
1. Block the updates and hang in there.
2. Use the Hardware root method.
3. Get a series 3 version from bestbuy and root a new one and sell yours on ebay. thus causing you a slight loss.

what should i do
i bought one of the straight talk samsung galaxy j3 phones from walmart on black friday for $50 thinking i was going to use it on my tmobile account. i have been scouring the net trying to find a recovery image or an app that can root or unlock this phone and have had no success. ive tried the usual stuff, kingroot etc, and the stuff that is out for other models of the j3 dosent work either (j320a j320fn, etc) i really cant even seem to find and real info on the phone which is weird because i dont think the phone is even that new. does anyone have any info on this or can point me in the right direction? even info on how to force, (or trick ) straight talk into unlocking it would be acceptable.
thanks!

I may have a root method. There is a SuperSu zip that is supposed to root when flashed with Odin. I can't find a custom recovery yet though and this is my main phone, though I could switch over to an old Droid Bionic I recently rebuilt.

Flash with Odin
I haven't tried it yet, read the thread carefully.
If I had a nandroid backup I'd flash it in a sec,

I did do something very similar, or kind of similar recently. After installing Lineage 14.1 in order to get root you have to flash a superSu zip. However this was on an S5 so I'm not sure if it would work on this model. I wish I wouldn't have lost my J, I may be able to help more. However for less than these phones cost, you can have an S5 or S6 (occasionally I even run into S7s for under 100. Even a 2 or 3 year old flagship is far above these vl series. (and they're easy to root plus have tons of custom ROMs, mods etc.)
I recently bought an unlocked g3 off ebay with the latest update. Kingroot doens't work and so far i guess the only way to root it would be to downgrade first but i'm a total noob to rooting and the only threads i've found on that have invalid links to the tools i'd need. Was wondering if somebody could help me out with a crystal clear eli5 guide to rooting or w/e i need to do to downgrade then root. Thanks.

thought so. cus vivo's official customer service says root is not supported, anf by that they probably meant bootloader-unlocking
Maybe somebody can unlock bootloader and try to install magisk? So we can use gpay) (I've ordered this phone and it still hasn't arrived). I hope it'll work:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/general/rooting-roms/how-to-unlock-bootloader-vivo-phones-t3686690
Or we can try to certify phone with Google to get working gpay: https://www.google.com/android/uncertified/
1) You have to know gfs id. Google gives the instruction on there page. Another method is to know it through file manager /data/data/com.google.android.gsf/databases/gservices.db
2) After certifying phone you have to factory reset your phone. And now it would be certified with Google.
Root is necessary here to fix Google Pay that it seems VIVO won't fix himself
I also ordered the phone. Did anyone managed to get GPay working?
