It still lets you order it and is going to be in stock shortly based on the page: In stock on January 27, 2020.
Just in case you don't find a better deal.
It's worked quite well in my car...my problem now is I seldom need it. The op7 pro is a beast and keeps a charge for 2 days based on my usage....I'm now driving with it not hooked up to the charger..run it down to 30% and then have it charged back up in an hour. I've even left bluetooth on all the time because before I was enabling bluetooth when the phone was plugged into power (tasker) and now that's not happening most of the time.
Oh the car charger DOES come with a 3 foot cable but that wasn't long enough for my usage in the car so I purchased the 6 foot.

Charging Requirements

Does anyone know what the power requirements are/will be for the XOOM? I expect it to have a good battery, but I still want to set up or simply buy a solar charging system for when I am not home. I might utilize the barometer to try geocaching.
Also, will it be trickle chargeable over USB?
I have the same question on USB charging. We know it has its own AC charger and special port. I asked on another forum this question and will post back if I hear anything.
Xoom manual is out on the web and it clearly states no charging via USB.

I guess the question now is what is the voltage of the charger. It has a car charger so the voltage is hopefully not high. I want to be able to charge it with my 6.5w solar panel.

If you have not yet tried the iGo tips/chargers, I strongly recommend you consider. Instead of a gazillion chargers, you change the tip. I picked up one for my laptop that works both in my car and house. It came with tips for almost every laptop imaginable so I can let others charge in my car, too. I am guessing one of my laptop tips might work for the xoom. Also the laptop charger has a USB port so I can charge my laptop and a device off so USB at the same time.
It would seem 5V would be the norm. Its the amperage that I am wondering.
We know the ipad in which this tablet draws its battery comparison uses 5V and 2.1amps.
We will find out soon enough
Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk
The charger is a 12V 1.5A charger. The tip is not a common one; definitely small and looks like it will break easily. I hope decent options come soon for using the contact dots.

I wonder why they went with this kind of connector. Too bad they didn't spend the money to include some kind of inductive charging system. It wouldn't have increased the cost of the tablet that much, maybe $10 in parts.
I just checked EBay and I found combo silicone case + "micro USB car charger" for the xoom. I wonder if the car charger is legit.
Anyone bought a car charger yet? Motorola's is a bit pricey at $30.

Anyone find one that works well? I got a Cellet retractable micro use charger last week, and it charges my Motorola Electrify M just fine as well as my Gen 1 N7. No dice on the N7 FHD.
Ideas?

hii well as if you are looking for a car charger you can check out the huge collection of car charger for N7 at Fommy
they have multiple of variety
So just check out once may be you guys get something you have been looking for
Thanks..!!
I just got one of the sea few day ago:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00B8M4IMK/ref=oh_details_o04_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
It has dual USB ports. One is marked Android the other Apple. The apple port if specifically designed for apple devices (iPhone 5, iPad).
Individually each port can do about 2 amps, or 3.6 amps total if both are being used. The Apple port will charger other devices slowly with standard Data sync cables or full speed with a charging only cable (no data).
Basically with a Charging only cable you could charge two device, one at about 2.1 amps max and the other at about 1.5 amps max (3.6 total amps).
I have two dedicated charging only cables coming that I plan to keep with this car charger so I can charge my phone and tablets on to go.
I tried my Nexus 2013 in my dual Sprint car charger that I got from amazon (Technocel MV9MCDUO-SP OEM Sprint Car Charger - Black with USB Port) and I'm getting a really good charge for my Nexus.
I even tested my phone charging in it's USB port while the Nexus was charging on the main cord and both seemed to cahrge jsut fine.
If I just charge my Motorola Photon on the main cord it charges faster than any AC adapter or car charger I've ever used.
I highly recommend it.
I can't post links yet but its $6 on Amazon.. search for... Technocel MV9MCDUO-SP OEM Sprint Car Charger - Black with USB Port
Fommy says its compatibale for the Nexus 7 2013 too but it's $19.95 there.
(SprintĀ® (OEM) Micro USB Vehicle Power Charger PLUS for Google New Nexus 7
SKU: 89356
Price: $ 19.95)

I suppose that would work, a 2 amp or 1 amp car charger should power most QI chargers.
Not sure I see the point though, I see two issues:
1. Wireless charging is less efficient and slower (better suited for the desk or night stand).
2. There's a good change the device will move around while driving and not charge if the coils are not aligned properly.
You could try a modify a car mount to hold a wireless charger, but you still would have the slower charging issue, withc may not really be an issue for some.
I have however seen a car mount that holds the phone and has a opening to hold a round QI charger, but wouldn't work for the N7. See here:

What I'm thinking is, taking the back of a slide-in type cover and hardwiring the wireless charger behind it. A slide in type cover should minimize any movement/alignment issues.
Then affixing the entire assembly over my existing NAV screen in the dash with the wireless charger hardwired to the car.
Then, I can slide in/slide out the Nexus as desired, and not have to worry about fiddling around with the Micro USB connector.
I'm not concerned about charging efficiency, more about maintaining power. A 2A charger at 60% efficiency should provide me the 1.35A that the Nexus 7 needs. When needed I can remove it and fully charge it.

OEM Qi Car Charger

Does anyone know of a OEM Car Charger that actually charges a responsible amount?
I only know of four 3rd party Qi car chargers.
1. Owl charger
http://owlpad.net/
2. iOttie Easy Flex Wireless Qi Standard Charging Car
http://www.iottie.com/Product/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductID=1058&ProductType=321
3. Air Dock
https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/the-air-dock#home
4.KOOLDOCK
http://www.fonesalesman.com/collections/qi-wireless-carger-pads/products/kooldock
I personally own the Owl charger but it does charge that well. Last night I forgot to charge my phone so it was dead in the morning. On my morning commute of 30 minutes, I charged my caseless phone while it was turned off. When I got to work I turned my phone on and it showed 1% battery life. A 1% charge in 30 minutes with a phone powered off is unreasonable. If I am out all day long driving my phone will go dead while mounted on the charger only using bluetooth and pocketcasts.
The second charger is the iOttie which I have no experience with. Will it actually charge the phone a substantial amount?
I am also interested in any other Qi car chargers that do not have to be custom made.
The air dock and the iOttie are two different products.
Unfortunately, I don't have either and can't give you any feedback.
There is no OEM Qi Car charger. There is not one made by neither LG nor Google. There are however many made by 3rd parties other than the 2 you listed. On amazon alone there are about 20 that range from $25 and up. The $25 one though I am leery of, it seems like an odd set up. There are also many on Aliexpress as well. Owl Pad was the 1st one that I know of and since then others have been made. I have been keeping my eye on a good Qi Car Charger setup and was hoping iOttie wasn't going be too pricy. They are sadly one of the most expensive I know of.
I have been thinking of getting this one: http://www.amazon.com/Docooler-3-Co...id=1398445724&sr=8-19&keywords=qi+car+charger
These are some of the others available.
http://www.amazon.com/Tontec-Wirele...qid=1398445811&sr=8-1&keywords=qi+car+charger
http://www.amazon.com/Generic-Wirel...id=1398445885&sr=8-73&keywords=qi+car+charger
I'm using the official Nexus Qi charger in my car along with a Proclip car mount. Works great.

Looking for good wireless charger ~$20

Any suggestions? New to the wireless charging. 1st and last device I had that supported it was the Nexus 6 and with a case it didn't work so I gave up.

I've had good luck with choetech products in the past. they have several wireless chargers, haven't tried any of the newer ones but they've pretty much been my go-to since the 6p and switching to usb c
This will be my first wireless charger.
Do we need to buy a certain type/spec or just buy any old wireless charger off of Amazon?
I'd like to find a slim matt-style to lay on my bedroom nightstand to just dump my phone on top of when I go to bed.
So in that sense, I'm fine with super slow charging.

it can do 10w, but in that case the older 5w ones will do. that said, back in the Nexus days I loved having the phone at an angle as a bedside clock (in fact, that's what my n7 is still primarily used for lol) so you may want to consider a stand charger.
So look for a 5W or 10W charger (or something in between), okay cool, thanks.
seriously yeah, I know that little about wireless.
Look for fast charge support and decide on a form factor. The small circles usually have a smaller sweet spot and by being smaller themselves make it easier for your phone to get bumped off of charge by kids, the dog, whatever, bumping the surface the charger is on. I'd consider spending a little more and getting a more stable platform rather than go with the small stuff. As said above if you want to see the phone on charge then you're going to need a vertical charger and you're going to need to decide if you want it in landscape or portrait and get a charger designed for that. If you're looking for a charger for use at a desk or in a working environment I would certainly lean toward upright so you can used your calculator and other tools while on charge. If you just want to flop it down to charge without any use of the phone then the lay flat versions tend to be cheaper.
Just bought two to try out on Amazon. Going to test them out on my Pixel 3 Xl and my ladies iPhone xs. Both chargers were under $20 each.

I just bought a pair of Nanami wireless stands from Amazon, 10 watts. It does do a fast charge, phone says charging rapidly. $26.00 with the charging brick, $16.00 without. I'm using the brick at my PC desk, and it's plugged into a 45 watt charger in my living room. Runs icy cool and really works well.
I say icy cool because I have an older Qi charger. The pad and the phone ran pretty warm which concerned me a bit.
The stand puts it at a nice viewing angle and makes the phone quite usable while charging.
This is NOT a paid endorsement
Lots of positive reviews.
There are standup wireless dock stations??
I need to Google this!
I have this one, it works and since I use it at night I don't care how long it takes to charge my phone.
AP has an article that says the Pixel 3 won't charge at more than 5W unless you have the Pixel stand. That's pretty lame on Google's part. It says the phone reports "charging rapidly" but really isn't. See here .
All of you might as well save your money and just get a decent one limited to 5w because that's what Google limited the pixel to for 3rd part wireless chargers
For everyone with wireless chargers can you kindly install Ampere from the playstore to confirm if any of them are charging above 500Mah ?

I can confirm that the Pixel Stand charges faster, but not the other fast wireless chargers that I have. The Seneo wireless charger that I have at my desk at work is only charging at ~500mA in spite of the fact that the phone indicates that it is "charging rapidly". I sincerely hope that Google fixes this and quickly.

Car fast charger?

Does anyone have a car charger that works with fast charging? Or any recommendations on one that will work?
If you're looking for wireless I don't think there is anything out there right now. I bought the iottie like a day or 2 before news broke of the speed reduction. They say they are not going to go for certification. I have an email out to Anker's marketing team.

there are tons of type c options out there, personally I'm using the PD charger from choetech. anything rated for either 3a/5v or PD will fast charge. this is the one I'm using:
CHOETECH USB C Car Charger 18W Power Delivery & Quick Charge 3.0 2-in-1 Dual USB Car Charger Compatible Pixel 2/Pixel XL,Galaxy S9/Note 8/S8, iPhone Xs XR XS Max 8/8 Plus/X, Nintendo Switch etc. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0747669PT/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_quY0BbMAFH4XG
Here's a couple I would trust
Choetech 18 watt USB-C PD & Aukey 27 watt USB-C PD / 39 watt total
My other posts were about wireless quick charging. I got that on the brain, apparently.

Yes - I use the Iottie One Touch Wireless Charger and it works GREAT for every phone I have used it - including my Pixel Xl 3
It is a little pricey but it is the most versatile charger I have found - and it is very user friendly - for taking the phone in our out of the phone holder/charger.
I also really like the Iottie Discs they include with the charger/holder - it allows you to mount the charger/phone mount on a curved dash without any problems at all - and in a pinch, they can be removed without messing up the dashboard. Great Charger - great Car Phone Mount. Really is the best one I have seen

https://www.ebay.com/itm/USB-C-Car-...blhkm:sc:USPSFirstClass!92143!US!-1:rk:4:pf:0
tried out my choetech 10w wireless car charger. didn't mess with any measurement apps since I knew it wouldn't charge at 10w, but it did charge the phone with navigation running, screen on and music streaming over bt. since it's powered by type c you can always just plug the phone in directly if you need fast charging, but if it outpaces navigation that's generally good enough for me.

I've been using a 10w wireless charger in the car and it works with Google Maps navigation and Bluetooth audio running. It doesn't charge fast but not having to deal with magnets is nice. The only issue is that if you turn the car off the arms won't open at the push of the button. Not a big issue because the pho e is easy to take out.
If I do need to fast charge I just place the phone in the crawl then unplug the power from the car charging mount and straight into the phone. I'm using a USB C PD car cigarette lighter socket.

Does it still charge and maintain a charge while using the phone for streaming/nav, etc?
Oh, and will it work if my XL has a bulky case?
I have a question.
See it's nice to have wireless chargers in the car with arms to hold the phone. Even better to have a wireless charger with magnet.
Now I won't go in debate of over charging the phone but is there a wireless charger for a car that has a button to turn ON and OFF the charge? I don't care with or without a magnet to hold the phone.
I drive allot so I don't mind a slow charging the phone, I do care about leaving the phone on without over charging it. Plugging the cord in and out isn't fun.

it does charge while using navigation - and Wireless Android Auto - (which is a pretty big drain on the battery) I don't know about a "Bulky Case" I use the Ringke Crystal Fusion Case" which is fairly thick - and it works fine for me - but I haven't tried any other case, so I can't say for sure.
I love the Iotti One Touch - Wireless - it is an awesome holder/charger
Good Luck

I agree, i did a bit more research and i think ill go or may go with something like this.

Granted i will have to install or use two side tape to attach two metalic strips onto the phones case to get the magnet stick to it. Should be piece of cake or buy those metallic rings that sell and attach them.
there is also this one, but sadly it doesnt come with a suction cup (which i really need) I does come with a metal ring tho.
