Well my camera glass shattered. I cleaned it the best I could with tweezers but there is still some sticky shards in there. I can't find ANYWHERE to get replacement for the glass. I found ONE cover, but no prime shipping. NO reviews or anything. I don't even know if that will be good enough to cover the bare camera lenses.

Can anyone point me in a direction to something I can do? Some tips or something? Like maybe the dimensions of that camera pocket are the exact same as another device and I could something more popular , for example...

I just have exposed camera lenses right now with packing tape over them to protect them till I can figure something out.

so i just noticed that the camera was taking bad pix so i pulled the battyery cover off to see if i needed to clean the lens or the lens cover, upon observing the battyer cover i noticed that it has many many small scratches.
so the way i see it is that i have a few options and i was looking to discuss my optopns.
i could:
1 replace the entire battery cover
2 knock the lens cover out of the battery cover, im afaraid this could lead to a scratched lens
3 replacded just the lens cover
what do you guys/gals think?
btw this is my first ever post on xda and this site is freaking sweet
thanks
Just pop out the lense cover,i did it in mine and the camera quality is 100% better and dont worry bout scratchin the glass camera lens, its tougher cause of bein glass vs plastic, n its recessed pretty good. q-tips cleane it well
Yeah, there was a thread about the back cover going a bit ago. General consensus was just to pop it out and occasionally get in there to clean off the lense.
very good, i was sitting in my gf's sons high school graduation ceremony using my tilt 2 so my spelling and grammer weren't the best in my op
i probably should have researched a little more but it was all i could do keep connecting to the internet long enough to get that op sent...
but fantastic input, infact i went ahead and popped the little guy out, but i know i should be ok with this fix
When I got the phone I cut a little piece of screen protector and put in on the lens cover. Didn't seem to impact photo quality, but I guess I have nothing to compare to since it's been there since day one.
Just FYI if you end up replacing the lens cover.
I too popped out the lens cover, soon after purchasing the TILT2 because even brand new the lens covers take away from the pictures, had same problem on TILT 1 so instead of taking off my cover everytime i wanted to take a picture i just removed the lens cover and it's been great , no damage. A little dusty every once in awhile , but nothing major. plus you could keep the cover and pt it back on later if you change your mind !
I notice on mine that the coating (maybe an anti-glare coating) on the outside was just worn away in spots. At first I too thought the plastic was scratched, but it wasn't. I took some plastic polish (I assume toothpaste would work too) and polished away the rest of the anti-glare coating. That greatly improved the picture quality.
Mine gets used in dusty and dirty conditions too often. Not sure I dare pop off that protective layer.
buff it

lol, this is where messing with cars comes in handy,, go get the smallest bottle of car polish(not wax)you can find and just buff the scratches out. use a very light touch and the scratches come right out. due to my work enviorment, i had to do mine last week when i noticed the same thing, and now i am back to crystal clear pictures again
Thanks, snig72. I had an old tube of car scratch removal stuff and tried your suggestion. I used a q-tip with it and it worked like a charm! The cover is like brand new now - not kidding!
I assume the piece of glass exposed on the back of the phone is not the actual lens and i just a glass cover. Is it possible to replace this? And is there any good cover to protect it? I just noticed there's already several scratches on the glass. Was wondering if i could easily replace it and also if there was something i could do to protect in the future.
I'd prefer not getting a whole case if possible.
I believe it is a plastic cover, and I have seen replacment ones for sale on the internet, they are a plastic circle with a black ring printed on it.
I believe the price was somewhat high for what it is, like $15-20.
thanks, i think i found it:

Mines broke and it's glass not plastic. I think the replacements are plastic.
Sent while sitting on the toilet.
I read somewhere that you can go somewhere that processes camera film and get some used disposable cameras for free, and that the lenses from those will fit perfect on the evo. There was a wright up on it i think here at xda.
Hi all,
I'm into photography and the lens is one of the most precious component in my galaxy note.
Has anyone came across a case/battery case/add-on that has a lens cover? I'm particulary after a sliding lens cover. I don't really want to put screen protector in front of the lens as it'll affect photo quality.
If you've seen any.. please provide links.. thanks
FYI, I've googled.. with no luck
cheers
Lens protector
Here's my solution. Might not be the prettiest. If you find a circular piece of rubbery sticker or something simmilar it might be even better. Doesn't even need to be this thick. Doesn't even need to be out of rubber. I just like the extra friction when I lay my phone on the desk.
I hated the idea, that the phone rests on the lens when I put it down.
What do you think?
I found similar solution like @vgergo but you dont need to destroy battery cover. I ordered leather back battery cover from ebay, it is a bit ticker than original one and it provides arround 1mm edge arround lens so it is protected when putting your phone down. Back is nice finnished and it fits as it should so I can reccomend it.
where can i buy some sort of screen protector or sticker for the rear camera? i don't have the plastic on it anymore and i don't like the idea how it's protectionless. For my Galaxy Note 4, the plastic fell off recently somehow and I was barely able to cover it using a spare screen protector, but it didn't stick well.
If i can't find anything for this phone , im thinking of either using tape or stickers from the dollar store or walmart.

Right now, I taped the glass part of the camera and cut out wholes for the camera lens, so it doesn't affect the quality lol. very getto but it seems to work, but i'm 1/4 finished. I did this to my Note 4 too yesterday.

for your first link, I don''t really like the idea how with the camera glass, it still means that the lens is ****ting the surface first and putting the pressure on it. in your opinion, how scratch resistant is it and does it affect the camera quality? I wish they made one like that but inverse so it covers everything but the lenses itself .
I might buy the dbrand camera skin, it seems to be what i'm looking for.
So I need to replace the rear glass on my G7, it is not broken but is badly scratched (just me being a total idiot!)
I have ordered 2 replacement OEM backs which should arrive later this week but having watched the videos I am now wondering if it is good idea trying this myself? I am reasonably proficient but from googling it seems that getting the FPS to work may be as issue after?
Also the backs I ordered are OEM ones but it seems they do not come with any adhesive, I asked the seller and they said no adhesive is included, this does strike me as strange as I was expecting it to be pre-applied but I guess the seller knows better than I do! I can get some adhesive tape easily enough but then it gets fiddly with the risk I guess of messing up the water-proofing so I am now wondering is putting a skin on may be the lazier but easier option.
Anybody on here replaced the back themselves?
hi, i think that you have to lost the water protection with only normal tape or glue. I've found on internat "Rear Battery Door Cover Repair Tape ZVRT208" i think that is the tape that you need
Update, I did it ok and it was really easy actually. My only regret is a got some minor marks on the edge from the initial leavering so I'd advise anyone to just try and use something plastic rather than metal for that bit.
Not too bad though and overall it looks great now.
