Scrolling feels really bad. Try it in the Twitter app and see.

100% only 5 stars apply here
Fastest Android phone I've used to date.
very fast android, slightly ahead of my other device, Xiaomi Mi5.
Good.
On 7.0 its a bit faster than on 6.0
In comparison to other e.g. One Plus it looks like a bit slower. But overall it is pretty good.
Everything is instant.
S7 8.0 oreo
On the last software update, everything is smooth. The apps open up very fast, for such an old phone. I've made a side-by-side comparison with iphone x (app-opening speed test) and the results were suprising. In many cases, the S7 opened the apps faster (netflix, facebook, gmail, whatsap, etc).

What's with the choppy scrolling? Do I have a defective device?
Silky smooth so far.
What have you found that isn't smooth?
Chrome scrolls facebook well and considerably slower than the S6. Fenix scrolls twitter well, but slightly less smooth than the s6, but not so much to have me find another twitter agent.
Settings menu scrolls perfectly.
Notification shade drops down with not dropped frames, which is a major win.

Happens a lot in Chrome and Tinder. Also stutters here and there during general use.
Not a bit on chrome. Or notification pull down. Those are really smooth.
Mines exynos BTW.
So far butter!
Flicking up and down through is smooth. But, scrolling slow with my finger is choppy. Even here on xda.
Really slow scrolling! I don't know If mine is defective..

How choppy are we talking? I personally came to XDA on my phone just to see if I could reproduce it and my phone seems to be silky smooth no matter where I'm scrolling. Any chance for a video of it?
I have seen shutters, but that's because I'd the ads. Using an as blocker and it's pretty smooth
I've found chrome to be choppy both on the s6 edge and the s7.
I use the Samsung browser and it's spot on
Swapped my S7 and it's still choppy, but it seems to be dependent on the app and not the device.
smoother than BUTTER here on Exynos version. cannot make it lag even if i try.
I was having this problem too, extremely choppy scrolling on almost any web page, I read some forums about a similar issue with the s6 and it recommend toggling the JavaScript support in both browsers and after doing so its pretty smooth, buttery smooth with JavaScript off but we need that on in 2016
Honestly, so far the S7 is a lot smoother than the S6 too me. This thing is buttery smooth so far. Samsung just needs to ditch their processors and stick with snapdragon. I can't get over how much smoother and responsive this phone is compared to the S6.
sometimes I feel there is some space for improvement ... egg app list is not butter fluent
new update is available for french version 70MB
Snapdragon version, tested out on 5GHz WiFi.
Mine is smooth in chrome, but chops when a page is loading or the page has heavy content/lots of pictures when scrolling faster.
Browsing XDA in Chrome is overall smooth, but can be choppy when the page is finishing loading and especially scrolling faster with longer posts with lots of ads between the posts.
Instagram and Twitter are overall smooth, but again if pictures are loading it gets choppy when scrolling faster.
Overall nice and smooth, for me seems to be just faster scrolling that causes choppiness.
Seems pretty normal to me, very happy with the S7 so far.

Lots of laggy UI elements and animations. Wont notice too much but is a valid concern for the future and longevity of the device, especially considering the price of the phone.

I simply turn animations to 0.5 ... been doing this on my phones for years not just on the Note 7. It cuts the chance some animation will stutter. I don't find the Note 7 stutters anymore than the S7's I've messed with but maybe. IDK. I do know that lots fancy animations at 1.0 or higher don't really add much so why not reduce them?

I have Exynos and it doesn't have lag at all. Try turn the animations off.

not smooth when it comes to call history
The only problem I had with the phone was that scrolling in some web sites felt jerky. I installed ssd boost( don't let the name fool you, it just stops debugging in kernel level) and now the slowdown feeling is gone
I find it really smooth but there's a hint of ghosting on screen when scrolling.
unsatisfied with this model of sony, i have z5 premium and i thinks its better than this piece of crap. scrolling is worse, when i play game its very hard to press. you needed to allow more force in pressing "sometimes" just to response to your finger.. wish i didnt bought this one!

App launch speed is good. Better than I thought it would be. Slight lag on bigger apps. But haven't used it for games yet.

Agree. Large apps like games may take a bit longer than expected, but everyday normal apps for me (Facebook, Instagram, Clash Royale, etc) all open without notice, or my saying "Come on already!".
