Don't think that's a setting we can change. As far as i know that's set by the provider via sim card settings or when they provision the phone. It's possible a new sim card may fix the issue...
Did you contact the provider you are using and ask them to fix (or look into) it?

Had the same issue today. Couldn't get RCS working with EE Uk. Easy fix. Put your sim in an iPhone or blackberry, settings, phone, edit your phone number, save, remove sim. Put sim back in your and reboot. You'd have to do this for both sims if you're using 2 sims in your note 10+. Voila!

What does that SIM toolkit do?

I got the Nexus from Bell Canada and I noticed that I have something called SIM toolkit in the app drawer. I clicked on it and it loaded but it didn't do anything. What is it and what does it do? Is it a bloatware?
In Europe is STK often used as an authentication channel for internet banking
or if your provider sim has built-in functionnality ,like shortcuts ...or services
So no way to get rid of it?

Or freeze it in Titanium Backup or uninstall it.
Ya, I was just wondering if it's some bloatware that was installed by my carrier.

No, it's the equivalent of the SIM menu that exists on just about any GSM standards-compliant phone if the carrier chooses to present a SIM menu. Remember that the SIM is actually a small computer chip that runs authentication algorithms and other simple programs. STK just queries the SIM to ask if it has a SIM menu, and if so it presents it to you. On Bell it doesn't do much - just lets you visit the account self-serve web portal and dial common customer service numbers. On WIND you can use it to request an SMS with your account balance and usage details, and also under certain circumstances to force it to look for roaming networks.
I think it's also responsible for pop-up messages that come from the SIM - for example on AT&T GoPhone, you get a pop-up every time you do something that decrements your balance, so that you know how much it cost you.
Short version - it doesn't do much, and it does absolutely nothing when you aren't running it. Leave it on, because every once in a while it's useful.
For me stk menu is important , i use an dual simcard adapter in my nexus
But in most custom rom it didn't appear ...
I've deleted it in every ROM for the last couple of years with no side-effects. (T-Mobile UK).

There is truly no advantage in doing so... it consumes no resources, and on the rare occasions you might need it again, getting it back is a pain.
If you are using a SIM that does not have any SIM menu programmed into it, the icon will vanish automatically. For example my LG Optimus One shows the STK with a Bell SIM but it vanishes with a Fido SIM.

it's a simore platinum adapter
http://www.simore.ch/en/two_sim_cards_in_one_mobile/dual_sim_card_platinum.php
but it's impossible to use 2 sim at same time, but i can program it to switch automatically (1 hour on sim 1 ,10 minutes on sim 2 )

[Q] changing number in Whatsapp Plus

Hello,
Next week I'm traveling to different country so I'll change my phone number to new Sim, the Sim is a global but made from Belgium.
In Whatsapp plus there is an option to change the number, but I checked the if the app will work with the second number without using this option ant it works very well-I received messages that sent to my first Sim in the app while Sim number 2 was in the phone.
Would it work the same way when I'll be traveling?
Sincerely,

SIM is not used for WhatsApp to work - it is only used to validate your installation ONCE only. After that WhatsApp just uses any Internet connection you have available - Wifi or any other via any SIM Card in the device. You can also pull out the original SIM and use it elsewhere for plain telephony.
Thank you very much tobbbie.
I forgot to write it but it was also one my checks that I did.

[Q] Fire Phone 32GB unlocked GSM - Working in India ???

Hi ,
Any one got his fire phone ( unlocked version ) working in India ? THough band configuration looks compatible, its not working ... I am curious to know if it works for anybody ?
Not working for me
Neither call or msg
No, FIre Phone wont work in India
I bought Fire Phone in US and sent it to india. My friend confirmed that its not working with Airtel, Vodafone and Idea. I spoke to Amazon Customer care and they also confirmed that there is an ongoing issue and amazon is working on the resolution. As on today there is no estimated ETA, it might take a month to 3 months.
Gopi
Is there any way to make it work?
I tried my airtel sim and its the same story INVALID SIM. Is there anyway that i can make it work? Damn I bought this phone!
Amazon Fire Phone works in India with Vodafone
Guys,
The fire phone works for me and I use Vodafone sim from Chennai. The story goes as follows. I got the phone from my husband a week back and I have been trying with the sim and it never worked. On top it showed Vodafone IN with signal bar, the data plan worked but no calls or messages. My husband contacted Amazon and following is their email and I've also commented what I did for each step.
Thank you for calling today about your Fire Phone.
I am sorry you are having trouble using the device in India.
Here are a few things for you to try.
1. Make sure you are using an actual nano SIM card and not a SIM card that was cut down to a nano SIM card. Cutting down an existing SIM
card is not recommended and has been known to cause compatibility issues. If the phone says "No SIM" or "Invalid" in the Status Bar at
the top of screen, you might be using a cut SIM card. - I was using a new nano sim. My data plan worked fine and on top it showed Vodafone IN but was not able to make calls.
2. Turn on caller ID. (Service providers in India require all phones to
have caller ID enabled.) To turn on caller ID, go to Settings > Phone
Configure Caller ID > Show Your Caller ID, and then select Show Number.
This option was disabled in my phone so couldn't do anything
3. Please contact your service provider so they can verify if your IMEI is blocked by the network. Your carrier may ask for the following
information:
IMEI: To find the IMEI number, enter *#06# on the phone's dialer.
Type Approval Code (TAC): The TAC for Fire phone is 01428500. - Vodafone said they do not do this and don't block any phones
4. Access Point Name Information: Go to Settings > WiFi & Networks >
Change your mobile operator > Access Point Names > Add an Access Point
Name. You should only enter the information the carrier provides, and
then tap Save and Select APN. - This was already setup with right settings for Vodafone
After checking all the above it still did not work so I lost hope and asked my husband to call Amazon for a alternate solution. They asked if I did the 5th step which was below. So I waited for 24hrs inserted sim and restarted sim and voila it worked.
5. It may take 24 to 48 hours for you to use your phone to make and receive calls after the carrier activates it. After 24 to 48 hours,
you should remove the SIM card, restart their phone, and then insert the SIM card.
PS - The thing is these settings given above where already set for my phone. But it worked after Amazon was contacted so I wonder if they did anything with my IMEI number to make it work.
Hi Guys, I am using this phone and it is working well . Its been alomost 11 months now I have been using this phone. Like it is said, dnt cut your SIM card, instead use a new nano SIM from the operator. Even I have a vodafone SIM inserted, and the phone started working.

Secret Code for 2nd IMEI?

*#*#4636#*#*
That code only pulls up IMEI 1 info when clicked on "Phone info"
How to access this for our 2nd IMEI?
I want to change the band to LTE only for my 2nd SIM.
There are other related "2 imei" threads. Nobody seems to have established if the OP3 is a "dual sim active"(in effect 2 separate phones) or a "dual sim standby" ( while 1 sim is handling a call the other sim cannot be used - only 1 IMEI needed????). Have you looked at (standard Android menu) Settings > Wireless and networks > SIM & network and scroll down to Default SIM setting - Does the ability to set the sim to be used for calls, messaging and data meet your needs?
You can see your IMEI number(s?) in Settings > About Phone > Status > IMEI information (also info in same menu "SIM status")

You can dial *#06#, that code gives me both IMEIs on my OP3 A3003
What's weird is that my 2 imeis are both 14 digits whenever I was getting my sim changed at&t said its supposed to be 15 digits. So I used the imei that's in the *#*#4636#*#* menu and that works fine.

Yeah apparently at&t said that for them to put it into their system they have to be 15 digits or else it doesn't let them enter it.

An IMEI is 15 digits - 14 digits "the data" + 1 digit, a check digit to ensure that the 14 digits are valid. Google for IMEI structure and you will also find "calculators" that demonstrate the "check digit". IMEI is mandatory in Europe ( all networks must use "GSM" technology) and it means you can connect any "IMEI" phone to any EU carrier just by changing the sim card. Some US carriers use CDMA technology networks and the IMEI equivalent is a 14 digit MEID. The BIG difference is that "CDMA" requires the physical phone to be registered with the carrier with the MEID - you can't just swap the sim to change your network provider.

[Paranoid Android 7.2.1] - Phone can not detect associated phone number with SIM card

Hey all,
This may or may not be ROM specific, but I just switched carriers and for the time that my number was being ported, I had both my old SIM card (Net10 on AT&T towers) and my new SIM card (T-Mobile) in the phone. During that crossover time, everything worked fine. In the SIM settings page, the carrier for each SIM and the associated phone number appeared correctly. However, once I removed my old SIM (phone was powered down any time I changed SIMs) the phone still functions fine for calls, texts, and data, but it no longer recognizes the SIM carrier or phone number.
This is made worse, as the carrier has an app that checks the SIM card before running, now, the app just shows "We do not recognize your SIM card".
I also noticed that carrier specific dialer codes no longer function. For example, if you dial #264# you should be presented with the status of T-Mobiles "Binge On" feature, but now it just does nothing once I hit call.
I have tried swapping the SIM between slot 1 and slot 2, I have also tried rebooting numerous times, all to no avail. I'd really prefer to not have to switch ROMs, but if that ends up being the solution, I guess I'll do it.
Any help would be appricated.
Thanks,
Austin

What does your Settings>About Phone>Sim Status show?
There are some apps (root+Xposed required) which edit the number in the sim. You can also input a number if it is blank in the sim.
Failing this, you may have to approach your service provider.

The Phone Number row shows as Unknown in there as well. However, if I insert my old sim in the other sim slot it then shows my correct phone number.
So the number is there in the sim, but for some reason is only read if I have both sims in.
