can i change 4G LTE frequency of my samsung galaxy LTE watch - Samsung Galaxy Watch

Bought Samsung Galaxy Watch 4G LTE model (UNLOCKED) from US. It support following frequencies:-
B2(1900), B4(AWS), B5(850), B12(700), B13(700), B25(1900), B26(850), B66(AWS-3)
Now same watch is launched in India and It support following frequencies:-
B1(2100),B3(1800),B7(2600),B8(900),B20(800)
Since frequencies are different in India I am not able to connect to LTE services in India.
Is there any way I can change frequency bands on my Galaxy watch?
Is it a hardware issue or a software issue. Thanks

IMHO this is Security/"Region Lock"... Software protection.
You have nearly 0 Chance to bypass this problem.
Since Gear S2 S3 nobody was able to bypass LTE/eSIM Limitations...
IMHO since 4 years or more...
Best Regards

Thanks. But is it true for UNLOCKED version?

Can you give please Model Name?
SM-R805U or SM-R815U or something like this?

It's SM-R805U

SM-R805U
This device is locked ehm made only for USA...
Code:
ATT USA
TMB T-Mobile USA
SPR Sprint USA
VZW Verizon USA
Sales Code XAR seems to me like Running Gag... Maybe """unlocked""" but only for US market... because only US...
According to Samsung India... they selling for India market...
SM-R805F
https://www.samsung.com/in/wearables/smart-watch/
Code:
SM-R805[B]F[/B]ZSA[B]INU[/B]
I have forgotten where Sales Code INU is inside... but also from SM-R805F... different Versions... for different countries...
IMHO you have 0 chance to transform your US SM-R805U into SM-R805F for India market...
This is all I know.
IMHO also in near future nobody will find easy solution...
I can not remember last 3 years success... for other Samsung Wearables with LTE feature...
Sorry.
Best Regards
Edit 1.
http://fota-cloud-dn.ospserver.net/firmware/INU/SM-R805F/version.xml
Code:
R805FXXU1FSL4/R805F[B]OXX[/B]1FSL4/R805FXXU1FSL4
So Sales Code INU aka CSC is inside package/region OXX...

One more thing. Today I tried 'JIO'( an indian telecom company) 4G sim in my mobile phone and added it's 4G LTE services on my galaxy watch through galaxy wear app. Now I am getting data signals on my watch and can play YouTube etc and other data services independently of my phone data. Still I am not able to use voice services as to receive and make calls from watch.

What about SM-825F, bought from Singapore Airlines (shipped from Singapore to me in the US), and doesn't connect to LTE in the US? Any way to change region and connect to LTE here in the US (TMB)?
One UI 1.5
Tizen 4.0.0.6
R825FXXU1ASHL/R825FOLBASHL/R825FXXU1ASHL

To the best of my knowledge, not a chance,, believe it's done at a hardware level and not a software level.
Sorry for not being more constructive.

Simply insert jio sim in your mobile phone. Then by using gear app you may select network operator as jio on your watch.

Will ASUS ZenFone 2 ZE500CL 4G LTE work on Verizon's network?

Hey guys, hoping that someone can help me out here. I am a long Verizon Galaxy Nexus user and am ready to retire it, but keep my unlimited data. My question is will this phone work on Verizon's network. Can someone shed some insight on this, because I'm ready for the upgrade.

If you get a 4G LTE sim card, it should work, but you will not be able to fall back on Verizon's CDMA network.

Appreciate the quick response! You say I won't be able to fall back to Verizons CDMA (3G) network, but looking at the description of the phone it has all of Verizons CDMA capabilities.
Single-SIM;3G WCDMA 850 / 900 / 1900 / 2100;4G LTE 700 / 900 / 1800 (FDD 3, 8, 28)
Also, isn't it true that Verizon plans on moving to pure LTE?

I checked my Asus Zenfone 2 and Verizon says not compatible.
I will say, I have been very happy on T-Mobile.

WCDMA is NOT the same as CDMA.
It's confusing, but let me explain.
3G (or UMTS/HSPA/HSPA+) uses technology that is based on CDMA..but it's called Wideband CDMA (WCDMA)...whereas Sprint and Verizon just use "regular" CDMA.....so this phone WILL NOT WORK with Verizon CDMA.
So with active Sim can use the zenfone 2 on Verizon. But no service in 3g areas?

no, I bought one without thinking about compatability, put my SIM card in, it recognized the card but it would not find service. The device had a 'network finder' in settings and found ATT, but not VZ. I called up support to see if there was ANY way to make it work, no. The ZF2 will not work at all on Verizon. Had to ship it back... :crying:
ZenFone2 (ZE551ML) will work on GSM carrier's networks in North America. However, CDMA carriers such as Verizon and Sprint do not work with this device. The 2 major GSM carriers here in the USA are AT&T and T-Mobile. For more info please see our FAQ and Zenfone Quick Service support sites:

I don't have one of these handsets so I cannot confirm this will solve radio programming problems this device probably exhibits. The problem with affordable great phones is they hamper Verizon's other handsets and therefore threaten the business model. Sad times, but this is what has me waiting patiently for the market of blok phones to appear.

Man i really hate Verizon! However i live in the middle of nowhere and Verizon is the only service we can use. Verizon never gets any good phones or if it does it makes sure it pressures the manufacturer into locking them down.
It's not just about the phones being locked but CDMA and GSM using different hardware and software. Most of the LTE phones sold by Verizon and Sprint are unlocked however you still need correct hardware and software to make it work on GSM networks. To say nothing of the least of making sure you have the correct bands.
If you're wanting this phone because of its dual sim, you need to pass. This phone used subpar and outdated hardware on Sim 2 and is firmware blocked for data using only 2G for voice/text. 2G is already being shut down by AT&T in the states and T-Mobile is following. This "Flagship" dual sim phone is actually going to be a single sim phone for those of us in the states in about a year. I got suckered and am now looking for another phone. There are plenty of companies out there offering up to date hardware at the same price.

Band 17 LTE?

From what I can see, the GSM unlocked version doesn't support Band 17. Can anyone confirm?
If you are talking about the US version, the GSM unlocked version of Z (not play) supports LTE band 17. Z Play unlocked version most likely will be the same.
The listing on B&H does have band 2 and 4, but not 17. Might be an issue on AT&T.
If you really need that band, you might look at the Mexican version. It supports: 4G LTE (B1, B2, B3, B4-AWS, B5, B7, B8, B12, B17, B19, B20, B28, B38, B40, B41)
This makes no sense for the unlocked version of the phone to not support AT&T's primary band for LTE. But to sell the identical phone in mexico with that band supported.... Maybe an error on motorolora.com?
I placed an order and then realized at&t might not actually supported. I tried to cancel and they make it impossible to do so. We'll see what happens but I'd be shocked if its not. I only looked because I was curious about band 30.
I have the Moto G4 2016 XT1625 and Motorola website doesn't mention band 17 for this phone either, but according to Signal check lite app it shows I'm connected to B17. So I must be a typo on their part? Let us know when you get your phone if you get B17

1) signalcheck isn't entirely accurate. It uses a database to infer lte band (based on network tower sector ID and other stuff). It doesnt ask the phone modem for the actual info
2) att's 700mhz block b+c spectrum falls under both band 12 and 17 now(12 is a superset of 17). Att broadcasts on both band 12&17 on the network side via mfbi, att will push for band 12 on newer phones instead of 17(17 will be deprecated, but continue to be used network side to support legacy band 17-only phones)
Both Band 17 or 12 phones can connect to this spectrum (aka your g4 2016 works on att's 700mhz). Again, due to (1), signalcheck might have old data saying it's band 17 even though your phone is technically connecting to band 12.
3) moto z play doesn't have 12 or 17... So who knows?
Thank you for the explanation! Well I guess I won't be looking at Moto Z Play then.

Currently I get LTE on my Moto X Pure on AT&T, when my moto z play arrives today (hopefully soon) I will report back. Honestly though I only get 5 mbps on AT&T LTE where i live anyways so HSPA+ probably wont be much different in terms of speed. Data limits and local network server make me want to use wifi anyways.

Interesting... being on band 12 is OK. AT&T uses 17 (B,C) but 12 has A,B and C. I hope the numbers on their website are a mistake. I'm in the process of attempting to procure a mexican model but if this is true I can pick up the one off motorola.com
Just recieved my Moto Z Play (US Version). Put in my AT&T sim and boom I have LTE. I will check what band in a few minutes.

Does your phone still have a whole bunch of different apn settings in the apn menu? If so, I would select the apn setting with nxtgenphone or pta, I had a problem with not getting lte at first when I first got my phone but playing around and rebooting a few times eventually gave me lte.

Xiaomi Mi Max 3 Global (9.6.7.0) Freedom Mobile LTE?

Hello
I was wondering if anyone had any experiences with the Global version the Mi Max 3. Did i make a mistake of purchasing a Freedom Mobile LTE incompatible phone? Or it should be asking myself whether this is really the Global Version?
Boot-loader seems locked, box in proper English with UK adapter, that makes me think its the Global version.
When i put my sim card in Data works, SMS works, but no phone calls in or out, even tho in the Network options Freedom is fully detected as the HOME network.
Any ideas?

No, I'm in Brazil and here are other operators. These are the bands that the unit has:
2G bands GSM 850/900/1800/1900 - SIM 1 & SIM 2
CDMA 800 & TD-SCDMA
3G bands HSDPA 850/900/1900/2100
4G bands - LTE band 1 (2100), 3 (1800), 4 (1700/2100), 5 (850), 7 (2600), 8 (900), 20 (800), 34 (2000), 38 (2600 ), 39 (1900), 40 (2300), 41 (2500)
See if your operator has the machine's bands.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news my friend but yes, you did just buy a phone incompatible with Freedom Mobile as I just did the same lol. Yes, messaging and data does work but you'll never get phone calls to work. I was wondering if it was worth sticking with Freedom anyways because of the deals but in the end I decided to switch over to Fido which works fine with the Mi Max 3. Also the version I have is def the Global Version (9.6.7.0) as I checked on the official website.

Haha yeah closure def makes things easier to handle. Tbh the phone is good enough that if you don't make a lot of phone calls it's still worth it but the problem for me is that in order to unlock your bootloader you need to get permission from Xiaomi. In order to get permission you need to have your device linked with your Mi Account. And in order to to that a confirmation text has to be sent (think Whatsapp). However, even tho you can send a text normally this automatic one fails to send on the Freedom network. So basically if you want to do any rooting whatsoever you'll need a SIM from somewhere like Rogers or Fido which ended up being the deciding factor for me aha.
If you have no plans on rooting then you should be fine :good:
Your phone should connect on LTE band 4 with Freedom Mobile. Mine connects flawlessly on LTE bands 4 and 7 with Telus.

Anyone using the phone in Canada? how's your LTE connection?

Looking to purchase this in Canada , but wanted to get a sense of how things are going for people who already have this in Canada. Does the lack of band 28, affect the LTE connection in anyway?
Thanks.
Was gonna post a thread on this. Really curious about this phone. Would love a Canadian perspective
Been using now for couple weeks. Cannot notice ANY difference than my Galaxy Note 9. May argue that the signal seems stronger actually.
I got the phone(8/256gb)yesterday and I am on Fido. So far the 4g works well. But I don't see the 4G+ like I use to when I was using my Mate RS.

This is what I am getting with my Xs Max here in Sweden. The Mate 20 X I have gets 60-70 in the same spot and the LTE connection has been much slower than the Xs everywhere I have tried it

Can you watch Netflix in HD.
No "Ok Google" right?
Can you still use the Google Services? Google Pay/Play?
Any Chinese influences on the phone that is removable or even non-removable?
I heard that you can't use "Ok Google" it was replaced with some Chinese AI.
Please let me know. I'm interested but I don't wanna get the Global Version 6GB/128GB
Straight up looking for 8GB/256GB.
Hey thanks!

No it was on LTE, my carrier is called Telenor. And I also have a carrier named 3. One is for work and one private. Have boxed my Mate 20 X and will be returning it. Have done testing a hundred times swapping SIM between my Mate 20 X, iPhone XS Max and XZ2 compact and the Mate came dead last every time
I get 4g+ with VOLTlte here in Canada on Telus

No I have the Chinese model AL00
I get LTE+ around Halifax, Nova Scotia, connecting on bands 4 and 7. I haven't had the HD symbol come up yet (indicating volte). Do I have to ask Telus to enable it?

If I remember correctly I believe they did enable it while back when I inquired about their WiFi calling service which they have. Just doesn't seem to work on the AL00 variant. Not really needed anyway.
Also check in Network settings for VOLTlte is enabled
My reception has been excellent, great call quality as well. I am using Freedom Mobile 10gb plan.

More info. In case its useful to someone.
Chinese version. Using Freedom Mobile in Calgary Alberta, it says on my phone 4G connection. I have LTE enabled.
Got my international L29 today. Popped in my Public Mobile (voice) and Tbaytel ( Rogers data) and both showing 4G with full bars. Good bye Mi Mix...you have served me well. I don't see myself ever using the Mate pen so if any fellow Canuck wants it for $60CAD, give me a shout and we can work something out.

Question Volte on Oneplus 9 Pro. Is it a carrier thing?

Hello,
I am having troubles activating Volte on my OnePlus 9 Pro.
After a chit chat with OnePlus support, they told me that my country carrier needs to support the Volte option for Oneplus.
Apparently they say my carrier doesnt have Oneplus in their list of smartphones that support Volte.
I managed to find a list of smartphones that my carrier has for Volte and it was only made of Samsung and Iphone.
Is this true? Am I incapable of running Volte because my carrier doesnt have OnePlus phones in ther list? OnePlus isnt popular at all in my country.
So, if this true, means even if i force turn on Volte on OP 9 Pro, i still wont get it to work?

Someone tried to force Volte but still no sucess. Apparently Volte for oneplus wasnt supported on their carrier also. So i think thats it... I will try myself once to check though. thank you.
OnePlus is also not on the list of supported devices for my carrier but I still managed to make it work on my 9 Pro following the guide previously mentioned.
Give it a try and you might be surprised of the output.

did your IMS appear as not registered first? Were you using LE2120? because they also said it can also be differences in frequencies for the countries.
LE2120 and IMS was "not registered".
After forcing the display of VoLTE/VoWifi toggles and changing the configuration in PDC to "Volte PTCRB", it started to work on my phone (logo in the status bar and "HD" indicated in call history)
My carrier is Viettel and I live in Vietnam.

I'm with T-Mobile and I have the OnePlus 9 Pro from the OnePlus store it's not T-Mobile specific I went with T-Mobile because they're 5G is better and AT&T didn't get voice over LTE at all. I went on a prepaid plan because there's no taxes involved my wife and I both have unlimited everything with 5G and I think we pay 80 bucks a month. I downloaded the version one OnePlus log kit switched on volte and vo Wi-Fi did the reboot and you can see from the screenshots when I don't have LTE vo Wi-Fi kicks in and when I don't have the other v o l t e is always active and they both work all my calls are in high definition. The carrier did nothing for me it was that simple I'm not rooted and I'm on the stock software... It's great because even if I have a dead zone I can make phone calls and send and receive texts over Wi-Fi no problem it might be worth looking into going to T-Mobile just for that feature especially when it's prepaid plan and you don't have to pay all those taxes! Good luck I'm so glad I got this phone I had just bought the OnePlus 80 and the charging port was getting bad on it so I went all in and got the nine Pro!
It works you need to turn it on in the settings so that you see the icon but to be sure just make s phone call if it changes to H+ or 3G then you don't have VoLTE

VoLTE and WoWIFI works natively on T-Mobile with the US model, T-Mobile model or from Oneplus themselves, so those extra steps were completely unnecessary . It's 100% carrier dependent, you just happened to be on a carrier that supports it.

So i guess, even if i do all that with PDC, i will still not be able to access VOLTE right? Because my carrier only supports samsung and iphone for now...
Assuming PDC is your carrier? Then correct. If they only whitelist Samsung and iPhones for VoLTE, then that's what you need to use.

PDC is a program that allows you to force activate volte on your phone. but thank you. i kinda got an idea now.
Same here (in Ukraine) guys. Oneplus 9 Pro doesn't support VoLTE, though previous older phones did!
Can changing of Profile in PDC affect VoLTE? Or only carriers can affect this? How do they Whitelist our model?
PDC not work on Android 12 ?
