I use Android 9 on my radio and the latest GMaps. When I start to navigate the big green label of directions covers 60% of the screen. How to delete it or turn it off? Thank you in advance

The culprit is likely your low screen resolution. Try to cram more content on the screen by increasing the DPI density. Here's some pointers:
https://www.themefoxx.com/2018/01/how-to-change-dpi-density-android.html
Be careful though. Going too crazy with those settings may result in some elements or buttons showing off screen.

You're wrong! I already found the problem. The problem is in the new GMaps not in the resolution. A lot of users complain for this problem. I installed a lower version of GMaps and everything is good now.

That doesn't make me wrong. My suggestion may allow you to use the newer version on your low resolution screen by scaling everything smaller.
Just for the records, the current Google Maps looks just fine on my device.

What kind of device do you use? The newest version of GMaps works badly on horizontal view. Maybe it works on some phones not on the Android Radios.

I recently upgraded to the Galaxy S3. I loaded on my favorite keyboard, Shapewriter, and was disappointed to see that it didn't fill the screen like it did on my other phones. Is there anyway to make it take up the whole bottom of the screen like all the other keyboards? Thanks for any help.

send a note to the developer... they might not be aware and just need to edit it for the larger screen...

It's no longer supported. I have a backup of the APK that I use to install it with. It's not even on the Play anymore as far as I know.

That's clearly not supported on 720p screen, never heard of the keyboard but if you find people that likes it a developer might be able to help

If I recall, Shapewriter was bought by Nuance and incorporated into the FlexT9 keyboard and now those features are incorporated into the latest Swype beta...
So maybe try that?
You can always lower your dpi

I downloaded the Swype Beta. It's going to take some getting used to, but overall I think it's better than the default Samsung keyboard.
I prefer shape writer over all the rest I've tested. The automatic addition of a space after a period (.),saves hitting the space bar more often than deleting the space. The ability to retroactively capitalizewith one key does not require retype. The selection of typed words with one touch, allows the original selection list to be recalled.
I can't believe they did this all two years ago. Nuance now owns shapewriter.
I rooted my phone and installed the apk. I perform the photosphere and when viewing it, the photo is mostly cut off and messed up. Anyone having this problem?

Mine works perfectly. Can you post an example of what yours looks like? Or is it just when viewing it in sphere mode?

The photo does not render correctly. There is times where the photo is cut off on the bottom. There is also times where the squares do not match up and it looks like an unfinished puzzle.
http://d-h.st/2zj this is the version im using (just in case itz a version issue).
The photos are normally cut off at the top and bottom leaving two black circles if thats what you mean.

It just doesn't render correctly on my Note 2. It is a UK version so I don't know if the phone is the problem or not. Also, sometimes there is purple spots on the panorama.

I'm getting a weird thing where it seems like two of the images are swapped or upside down or something
You need 4.2 gallery to view the pics not the Samsung default gallery
handwritten from my note 2 (N7100)
Is there a way to have this feature on our phones? I've tried a few apps, but it isn't the same.
Any modules or rooted apps you might recommend will be greatly appreciated ????
If you will leave the phone upright, you can use an app like this: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.plexnor.gravityscreenofffree&hl=en
Glance Plus is close, but not perfect.
"Always On" on the play store is really good. It is probably the best that I have found honestly with the most features. The developer is open to suggestions as well.
I use Tasker for that. I set it up so when connected to any power, screen time out changes to 23 hrs, 59 min, 59 sec if screen is on. When state is disconnected from power, time out changes back to 1 minute.

You can have the screen stay on when plugged in from developer options
Max OD's TMobile S7 port had the best implementation of AOD I've used, but it was still buggy and annoying...i disabled it straight away. I don't think Samsung has even had it working all that well. Different strokes and all that, but I don't see much point in the feature, makes the phone feel like an LG clamshell from '04.

I tried in on the Noble ROM. When unlocking the home screen, it would stay dark. I understand that's an issue with Dr Ketan's new ROM as well.

Hi
On the Note Edge 915 Noble Rom the screen saturates, like it is a Xray picture... But the AOD works with the fix that has been given in the third post of the Noble Rom. But the display beeing Xray'd isnt nice, so hopfully there will be a fix for this.
I've recently ordered a OnePlus 3. Long time iPhone user, but I've had a few Android handsets in that time. I liked the OnePlus 1 because you could alter the DPI. With the new OnePlus 3 (Nougat) update allowing you to alter the DPI, I'm giving Android another shot.
I was wondering if anyone had any screenshots of different apps, with the DPI set to the smallest setting?

Are you planning on rooting the device? If so changing dpi is easy. Without root it can only be done if the settings allow it. (apparently 4 has it?).
To your question. I haven't changed dpi.
Yes, I'm referring to the ability to change the DPI in OOS4 (Nougat) I'd just like to see the difference it makes.

I'm using the smallest setting since the release of Open Beta 8 (and still running it, too lazy to update to stable )
Any particular apps you're interested in?
Want just smallest DPI setting or also bigger for comparison?

Running stock HTC Android 8.0. It's a circle with four little lines off the sides. Top, bottom, and left / right. (kinda looks like a rifle scope reticle) It also has a diagonal line through it. Any ideas?
I tried uploading a screenshot, but kept getting a network error message.

Sounds like the location reticle.
Some devices don't show it, some do.
Depends on your device model/network carrier, whether system UI shows it or not.
