Sorry to tell you, but it seems that u have bought a stolen watch thief factory. Be careful, it can be locked / non - supported to use GW in the future.

sorry this is slightly off-topic, and apologies if this forum is unsuitable. it's about a samsung e700 phone i also own.
I bought it secondhand from someone on ebay (stupid me) about 6 months ago (before i got the xda) and it later stopped working, first on o2 then soon after on all UK networks.
I enquired at an o2 shop and they said it is black-listed and nothing can be done about it.
My questions are:
1. will the imei block be global, or just UK? if not then i give it to a friend in tanzania when i go there next week
2. Is there any way to overcome the IMEI block?
hope someone can advise me, before it goes in the can!
cheers
International Mobile Equipment Identifier
I'd say from the first word that yes, it's probably not going to work in Tanzania either.
Blocked IMEI number usually just means one thing - stolen phone. Noting can be done about it either.
The identification is international, but blocking is operator dependant. except that often all the operators of the same country share their database of stolen devices. I guess that this database is not worldwide shared. So could de probably used in other country.

As far as i know the IMEI is only blocked in the UK (dont quote me on it though )

On some phones you can change the IMEI number that is blocked on that phone, but bear in mind it is illegal in this country so not advisable.
I would take it to Tanzania and check if it will work ... if not then bad luck but if it does then your mates got a new phone
It will work outside of UK
Thanks to everyone for the advice, I will take it to Tanzania and see if it works. My friend will be very happy if it does, otherwise I'm sure he could find a shop with equipment to change the IMEI number - probably don't have laws abou it there!
cheers,
Paul
Good news! I am now in tanzania and the phone works fine on the network that my friend uses. He is very pleased with his "new" phone.
Nice, hot and sunny here, but no XDA to play with. Just my baby, friends and nice empty beaches and warm water to swim in. Oh how much I miss the UK
no one have any idea how to spoof or change the IMEI?

Er....why?
Yes actually I do. Quite simply a physical way, which is not illegal in some areas and also you can do it by imei manipulation, but that requires playing with other peopels systems.
will defonatly work abroad.
the phone will only be blocked to UK networks
so should work abroad
Hello there,
Unknowingly I have bought a blacklisted T-Mobile Samsung s6 edge from someone. The phone is in India now and it was working for 1 month and couple of days back it stopped working. When I have checked with T-Mobile they said it is a lost mobile and listed as a blacklisted.
I want to check if anyone can help me unlocking the phone and I'm ready to pay too.

I ordered it on eBay for $25 they called me and did it remotely. Somebody got me like that too with the s6.
Thread closed, we cant condone bypassing antitheft features. Please consult the person you bought the phone from.
Maybe for interesting:
On the site http://cybersvc2.samsungcsportal.com/imei_check you can check if your Note 7 is affekted from the recall process
.
Or maybe that site just wants to steal your imei.

The I'm calling BS on that site....
Put any number in even if it's too short and it tells you the device is fine (see screenshot I took).
I'd say they're harvesting IMEI numbers.
Don't give out your IMEI number to any unauthorized party, here in Canada if registered with IMEI number for recall, you may get a replacement delivered to the door, which means if you gave out the IMEI number, you might be screwed.
a quick check on whois shows its owned by samsung itself, also when logging onto the uae support site from their home page links to the same web address.
I checked both imeis for the dual sim, the primary number flags up as faulty the second imei flags up as fine lol
For example goto samsung gulf home page and click on product registration it redirects to here.
https://mcybersvc1.samsungcsportal.com:83/ae/page/login_main
Seems pretty legit.
http://www.samsung.com/sg/support/warranty/
If u go down to mobile device warranty u will find a similar server address
https://cybersvc2.samsungcsportal.com/cyberservice/csc/account/login01.jsp
I tried a bunch of fake different numbers and it says mine not on recall list but when i enter my real imei then mine is on the recall list
Mine is canadian
Legit or not I put the IMEI of the device I shipped back and got the below so makes me feel better I sent it back.
It's samsung's site see http://www.whois.com/whois/samsungcsportal.com
I'm quite sure this site was set up only to verify that the IMEI is from a phone delivered to markets that are covered by the recall, and is not indicating that the phone has one of the batteries that will fail.
I'm not in any way suggesting you ignore the recall ... just that you shouldn't assume that your risk of malfunction is any greater than it was prior your use of this site.
If the site is to be believed, my Galaxy Note 7 is affected...
My device (Dubai FD version, Vietnam made) is also affected - I have done now some charging tests and checked the akku temerature with Phone info+
Wireless charging is allways around 35.5 - 36.2 celsius
Fast charging with cable and power supply goes up to 38.8 celsius
Think this is OK, all lower as 60 degrees celsius is no dangerous for the device - and the life around my phone
.
Ok so I've got the 930FD and has 2 different IMEI, ONE AFFECTED AND ONE NOT. WAS TOLD THT SINCE IT IS THE INTERNATIONAL VERSION I NEED TO CONTACT THE SELLER FROM EBAY AS IT IS AN INTERNATION VERSION AND THE EXHANGE PROGRAM IS ONLY GOT US VARRIEDNTS
Sent from my SM-N930F using XDA-Developers mobile app

So far what I have done is contacted the seller via ebay and asked what are the return options as there is a recall on the note. The first email he said that Samsung was not sure yet if this one was affected so I used the following tool provided: http://cybersvc2.samsungcsportal.com/imei_check.
I took a screen shot of this proving that the tool said it is affected by the recall and sent it to the eBay seller. From there I was told to ship it directly back to them and they will ship it over seas and get me a full replacement.
So. I normally live in the US in which what im asking is not needed BUT i traveled to Iran because of vacation (because it was where i was born in) and i had to get some paperwork done.
Needless to say, i traveled there with my razer phone.
Now my razer phone is rooted running android 8.1.0 with magisk v16.
Now i NEED to change my IMIE because they recently put a regulation in place for phones that come in from outside of the country.
You have to register your phone within a month or your IMEI will be blocked through their network.
I have used IMEI chamger from xposed framework and it does not work that good. It used to with a different sim card (Rightel) but not working with (MTN Irancel)
Point being, i need an app or trick to change my IMEI with qualcomm chipsets. Cpu being snapdragon 835 of course.
Please help me, i dont have a phone at the moment to use other than my razer phone.
Now registering my phone in their system is no longer possible and is very expensive in Rials (irams fiat currency) so help me please!.
I have done research but i have not found any effective method yet.
Phone services say "Phone Not Allowed"
