Use a later version fastboot (v2 or 3) and do the update twice.
I've used latest version, probably the file i wanted to flash was corrupted, because with kinghunki's exe it worked.

I now have a brick/paper weight!!!

Hello XDA,
I've somehow managed to sort of brick my OP3. I still have fastboot and, after a few tries, a seemingly working TWRP.
I'll give a very brief history/synopsis of the issue I am trying to tackle.
• I was running an [Unofficial] RR ROM. IIRC it was built in December 2012 and was a 7.1.0 variant.
• The ROM started to become buggy as hell so I wanted to update to the latest RR.
• While trying to update to the current RR ROM(20170214) my OP3 returned an error 7.
• I had some decryption issues so I just reformatted everything as to not bother with the logs.(I was a bit buzzed... Stupid decision on my part. I've now probably lost quite a bit. However I won't know until I can actually see what made it's way to cloud)
• I was running TWRP 3.0.4
• ATM I have flashed the OnePlus3_4.0.3-FIRMWARE.zip and TWRP 3.0.3.
• I am still unable to successfully flash any 7.1.1 ROMs. I have tried both LineageOS and the most current RR.
• Fastboot returns the following:
"target reported max download size of 440401920 bytes
Invalid sparse file format at header magi
error: write_sparse_skip_chunk: don't care size 250501640 is not a multiple of the block size 4096

OKAY [ 0.007s]
sending sparse 'system' (428410 KB)...
error: write_sparse_skip_chunk: don't care size 250501640 is not a multiple of the block size 4096
error: write_sparse_skip_chunk: don't care size 250501640 is not a multiple of the block size 4096
OKAY [ 53.795s]
writing 'system'...
FAILED (remote: buffer overreads occured due to invalid sparse header)
finished. total time: 57.969s"
• The error, "7", was related to the seemingly common assert/trustzone error.
Any help at this point would be tremendously appreciated.
Thanks,
MeeGz
Update: Perhaps I've pleased the Android Gods... EmotionOS was able to install without issue. This seems a bit odd as it is apparently forked from LineageOS. Either way I'll give it a shot. I'm just happy that my device isn't a paper weight for the time being!
Some of the errors on nougat, these days are due to TWRP.
To be safe, always have an updated recovery. TWRP 3.0.4.1 is still unofficial but stable. Many are using blu_spark v16.
If currently your device is bricked and u need a rom than first download twrp 3. 0.4.1 and flash it via fastboot then boot to recovery then flash 4.0.3 modem zip and then new freedom OS or any RR that's released after 13feb as those can work with new modem

Htc m8 twrp issue

Hey Everybody,
I have been a silent person on XDA visiting as a guest but now in need of help!
I downloaded Lineage 14.1 for my M8 from here about 8 months ago, however time has come to move on to something else.
The issue is firstly I wish to update TWRP but every time I do a reboot to enter recovery I don't get that option anymore. Seems like it has disappeared. Can anyone advise me how I can get the latest version of TWRP back on my device please?

Not completely clear what you mean here. Are you booting to bootloader? You should have the option to enter recovery from there. But the choice to select boot recovery missing? If so, that would be strange. Don't think I've seen that before.
Or you can select to boot recovery, and it doesn't go to recovery (reboots, etc.)?

Flash latest TWRP with fastboot. Or if that fails, tell us if there is an error message, or other description of the issue.

Resize partition on Honor device for installing GSi Roms (Android 11 & 12)

Hi everyone. I've read some about this issue: GSI 11 and 12 roms are bigger than 9 and 10 versions, so when triyng to flash it via fastboot i got this:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Minimal ADB and Fastboot>fastboot flash system C:\Users\thefa\Desktop\Corvus_v17.0-Vanguard-treble_arm64_ab_vndklite-Gapps-17122021-Beta-Official-0000.img
target reported max download size of 471859200 bytes
Invalid sparse file format at header magic
sending sparse 'system' 1/9 (460796 KB)...
OKAY [ 10.906s]
writing 'system' 1/9...
FAILED (remote: sparse flash write failure)
finished. total time: 10.937s
I've noticed that the problem is the small size of device partition (Honor Note 10), that it's project treble compatible, but it can install only android 9 and 10 roms from project treble.
So, any idea of what can i do for increase size of the partition for make a successfully installation of GSI 11 and 12 ?!
Thanks to all for the support!
